Venezuela: Maduro and Guaido battle over aid and music concerts | DW News - Duration: 4:59.

British billionaire Richard Branson has big plans for the Colombian border town of Cucuta.

He says his goal is to raise money for food and medical supplies AND ultimately get it

accross the border to Venezuela.

Meanwhile everyday struggle for locals goes on.

Many cross the border here regularly to pick up desperately needed supplies.

They are hoping to see change soon.

"We want to be free.

We want to be able to cross the border, we want freedom, we want the government to fall.

It is what we all want.

And elections so we can have a new president."

Some however have lost all hope and are taking extreme measures -- describing how it feels

to be leaving their country for good.

"Right now I'm sad... this is degrading for a human being.

Very degrading."

President Nicolas Maduro is also taking exteme measures.

He sees any attempt to bring in aid as a pretext for military intervention.

On Thursday he closed the country's border with Brazil -- and said that he was also considering

closing the frontier with Colombia.

"A complete closure of the border with Colombia, I'm considering that.

If it's best for a man to be prepared, it's even better for a nation to be prepared."

That could make things tricky for Opposition leader and self proclaimed President Juan

Guaido.

He left his home in Caracas on Thursday to make the 800 km journey to the Colombian border.

He and thousands of his supporters are promising to bring US aid into the country, but he has

not explained how they plan to do it.

Meanwhile back at the border just accross the river from Cucuta, President Maduro is

organising his own concert on

Venezuelan soil.

✅ Breaking News - Europa League last 16 draw: Chelsea v Dynamo Kiev, Arsenal v Rennes - Duration: 2:32.

Chelsea face a tricky tie against Dynamo Kiev in the Europa League round of 16, while Arsenal will play Rennes

The Blues were part of the first tie drawn out on Friday lunchtime, and will have to travel to Ukraine in the second leg - a 3,000-mile round trip

The Gunners meanwhile will face Ligue 1 club Rennes, who beat Real Betis in the round of 32

Share this article Share Chelsea came through their round of 32 tie against Malmo with relative ease, winning 5-1 on aggregate, while Arsenal had to come from behind against BATE Borisov - they lost 1-0 in Ukraine, but won the second leg 3-0 in north London

The draw has been relatively kind to the Premier League sides however, as they avoided the competition's biggest names including Sevilla, Napoli and Inter Milan

The two English clubs could have been drawn together, as there are no restrictions on nationalities facing each other at this stage - but an all-English tie was avoided

For Petr Cech, Arsenal's goalkeeper who retires at the end of this season, this draw is an emotional one - he played for Rennes before moving to English football with Chelsea

Sevilla, who won the competition three years in a row between 2014 and 2016, face Slavia Prague, while Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri will have to wait for a reunion with former club Napoli as they face Red Bull Salzburg

Inter take on Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt, while Valencia - who ended the European dreams of Brendan Rodgers' Celtic - face Russian club Krasnodar

Dinamo Zagreb play Benfica, while Zenit v Villarreal was the final tie drawn out by former Sevilla and Valencia goalkeeper Andres Palop, who conducted the draw

Nicaraguas Ortega calls for negotiations to end crisis Daniel Ortega News Al Jazeera - Duration: 2:41.

Nicaraguas Ortega calls for negotiations to end crisis Daniel Ortega News Al Jazeera

The opposition wants electoral reform and justice for those who died during a brutal government crackdown last year.

Nicaraguan Presidentáhas said he would resume dialogue with opposition leaders who are calling for early elections, after nearly a year grappling with one of the countrys worst crises since a civil war four decades ago.

Ortega said on Thursday that the government is working to "set the table for negotiations next Wednesday" with representatives from the opposition, which is demanding his resignation.

An attempt at dialogue over welfare benefits last May erupted into protests that lasted for months, fading only under a áthat left at least 320 people dead.

Ortega made the announcement during an event commemorating the 85th anniversary of the death of guerrilla leader Augusto Sandino, to an audience of cabinet members, military personnel, the police and supporters.

It comes as the government faces an economic crisis and a dollar 315m deficit, as it struggles without funding and loans that would usually come in from multilateral organisations.

Protests initially started last April over now ditched pension reform, and escalated quickly as they were met by a brutal government crackdown.

"Nicaragua is experiencing one of the worst human rights crisis in its recent history," Erika Guevara Rosas, the Americas director atáAmnesty International, Al Jazeera.

broke down in June as Ortega refused the oppositions main demands to step down and bring forward presidential elections.

Protests lasted until October, which saw many dead and more than 750 people arrested on "terrorism" charges.

The opposition accuses former guerrilla leader Ortega, in power since 2007, of establishing a corrupt dictatorship with his wife and Vice President Rosario Murillo.

Opposition leader Angel Rocha, who will speak for university students in the dialogue alongside business representatives and politicians, said their pressing demand was for Ortega to release people they consider political prisoners.

Rocha said the opposition would also push for electoral reform, transparent elections and justice for the people who lost their lives in the government crackdown.

Royal news : Meghan Markle slammed over private jet for New York baby shower trip - 'Utter HYPOCRIS - Duration: 3:51.

The Duchess of Sussex was spotted boarding a private plane, which is estimated to cost an eye-watering £100,000 ($125,000), after her baby shower on Wednesday

The jet is thought to have been organised by her and Harry's close friends George and Amal Clooney

But the move has prompted environmentalists to urge Meghan to consider more green travel options

And she has faced accusations of "hypocrisy" over her and Harry's campaigns to tackle poverty and climate change

A spokesman for Friends of the Earth told Mail Online: "Private air travel obviously comes with a huge carbon footprint

"Perhaps for future trips the Duchess could consider less carbon intensive modes of travel

We invite her to set a good climate trend by flying less." It comes after Harry called for action to save the planet during the Australian leg of his overseas tour with Meghan last October

Speaking at the Australian Geographic Awards, Harry said: "It is going to take every single one of us to stop the clock on the destruction of our planet, and time is not on our side

"The standard we walk past, is the standard we accept. It's time to take personal responsibility and realise what a privilege it is for us to live alongside nature

" Despite Harry's passionate speech, Meghan opted to cross the pond by private jet rather than take a commercial flight for her five-day visit to the Big Apple

The move prompted a furious reaction on social media. One Twitter user said: "Meghan & Harry are being billed as Humanitarians

They are Patrons of charities for the disadvantaged. The obscene cost of this 5 day trip is utter hypocrisy

Not to mention the carbon footprint of taking a private jet." Another added: "Meghan proving she's no Dutchess

The obscene expense of the trip coupled with the utter hypocrisy of private jets by someone who claims they care for the environment…" During her New York trip, Meghan visited Upper East Side hotel The Surrey, celebrity haunt The Polo Bar and luxury bakery Ladurée

The highlight was her baby shower at exclusive hotel The Mark's penthouse suite, which costs an eye-watering £57,000 ($75,000) a night

On its website, the venue even describes itself as "New York City's most boldly lavish hotel"

The star-studded event was organised by the mother-to-be's friends and celebrities on the guest list included tennis star Serena Williams, Meghan's former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer and stylist Jessica Mulroney

Meghan jetted back to London no doubt laden with gifts following the do.

✅ Breaking News - Man United stars arrive for training ahead of Liverpool showdown - Duration: 2:47.

The stars of Manchester United looked like men on a mission as they arrived for training on Friday ahead of Sunday's mammoth Premier League encounter with Liverpool

The Red Devils will look to continue their renaissance under interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as they host their arch-rivals in what most consider to be the Dutchman's biggest game since taking charge

And Solskjaer's players seemed focused on the task at hand as they made their way into Carrington to put the finishing touches on their preparations for the showdown

Share this article Share The likes of Marcus Rashford, Juan Mata and Nemanja Matic had serious expressions on their faces as they drove into the training complex in their luxury cars

Chris Smalling and Alexis Sanchez seemed somewhat more relaxed, sharing a smile and a wave respectively, while Brazilian midfielder Fred found time to stop and sign autographs for fans waiting outside

United, who endured a difficult first half of the season, have climbed back into the top four under Solskjaer's leadership, winning eight and drawing one of his nine Premier League games in charge

However, they remain just one point ahead of Chelsea and Arsenal, who sit in fifth and sixth, meaning a result on Sunday is crucial

Solskjaer has even offered Sir Alex Ferguson the chance to deliver Manchester United's team talk in an effort to give his players some extra inspiration

'Ferguson would be welcome to have his talk to the players if he wanted to, the gaffer, because we know how much it meant for him to overtake Liverpool,' he said

'I think our players know what it means for everyone at Man United.''I've played in a few of these myself and I know the magnitude of it for the fans, for everyone who works here, the staff,' Solskjaer continued

'There have been many comments about, 'this is the big one' and 'we're looking forward to this one'

'Then it's our job to be focusing and channelling all that energy into performance mode

It's not about emotions.'I understand that emotion can be brought into it, but we have to stay focused and controlled but with some fight in us as well

Royal news : Warm February weather will bring misery for millions as hayfever hits early - Duration: 6:19.

FEBRUARY, on the whole, has been pretty glorious.  Many of us have bounded about in just our jackets for the past month, wondering where winter went

But beautiful weather isn't welcome by everyone.  A premature spell of dry, sunny, warm weather can bring hay fever season forward - extending the months of irritable misery suffered by thousands

"We are likely to see an early start to the birch pollen season, which affects around 25 per cent of hay fever sufferers in the spring," hay fever expert and pollen forecaster, Dr Beverley Adams-Groom told The Sun

"The season usually starts in early April but could start in mid-to-late March this year

"The grass pollen season (usually starting in late May/early June) could be on the early side too but it's too soon to say because it's the weather in late March and April that mainly affects it

"  Hay fever season as a whole tends to run between late March and September, and it's at its worst usually around June, when it's warm, humid and windy

But seeing as this month, we've seen record-breaking temperatures in Scotland of 18

2'C - the average temperature of late May/early June - it's not surprising that hay fever issues might be starting earlier this year

For grass pollen to really become strong, you need warm and rather wet weather, so it depends on whether we get any April showers or not

But for those who suffer from birch pollen sensitivities, you may start struggling sooner rather than later

Hay fever is a problem for around 80 per cent of people with asthma, with many not knowing that trees start releasing their pollen at this time of the year

"It isn't spring yet, but trees such as alder and hazel releasing pollen could wreak havoc on people with asthma who are allergic to it," Sonia Munde, Head of Services at Asthma UK, told The Sun

"A pollen allergy can cause winter hay fever, triggering asthma symptoms such as wheezing or a tight chest that could develop into a full-blown asthma attack

"People with asthma might assume their blocked nose and sneezing is caused by common cold but it could be tree pollen at this time of year

"If you know you have a pollen allergy as well as asthma, it is essential you take your preventer medicines as prescribed, as it will prevent your airways from becoming inflamed which means you'll be less likely to have an asthma attack if you come into contact with pollen

"You should also take your hay fever medicines, such as nasal steroid sprays and antihistamines, which will help keep your hay fever symptoms at bay

Keep your blue reliever inhaler with you at all times in case of an emergency." Symptoms of hay fever  Hay fever symptoms tend to become more severe when the pollen count is high

They can include: itchy eyes/ throat sneezing, blocked/runny nose watering, red eyes (allergic conjunctivitis) headaches, blocked sinuses shortness of breath tiredness the sensation of mucus running down the back of the throat, which can also be a symptom, is called "post-nasal drip" So what can you do about it?  Well, it's simply a case of extending your coping mechanisms and preparing for an attack earlier on

 1. Monitor pollen forecasts every day and when you notice them start to climb, try to stay indoors  If it rains (which could happen at any point during February and spring

), pollen tends to be washed from the air so the levels go down.  2. On high pollen days, make sure you shower and wash your hair as soon as you get home  Don't forget to stick your clothes in the washing basket ASAP too and take your shoes off inside to avoid trampling any pollen indoors

3. Take antihistamines at the right time.  If you don't get drowsy, and most people don't, it may make sense to take them first thing in the morning so that their peak effectiveness is during the course of the day when you are out and about," Dr Sarah Jarvis told The Sun

"However, if they do make you drowsy you may find that it's more effective to take it at night so the drowsiness effect is most marked when you are sleeping

"Part of the problem with hay fever is it depends on when your symptoms start, pollen counts tend to be higher during the day

"So we normally say if you are going to go out, go out early in the morning or late in the evening as pollen counts tend to be lower then

Royal news : Mum furious as shop worker 'bullies' son by likening his ears to Prince Charles - Duration: 3:12.

Mum-of-three Kayleigh Gibbins was shocked after learning that a shop worker had upset her young son by likening his appearance to Prince Charles

Mrs Gibbins, 31, who lives in Bakersfield, has since accused the shop worker of 'bullying' her child

According to the mum, her 10-year-old son McCourtlan, had nipped into Bargain Buys in Milton Street with his grandma and younger sister to get snacks for the cinema

And while paying at the till, a woman compared the young boy's ears to those belonging to the Prince of Wales, according to Nottinghamshire Live

The shocked parent said: "They had just got to the till to pay for some popcorn when the staff member said 'Is he related to Prince Charles?'  "My mum said 'What do you mean?' and the woman responded saying 'His ears!'"  Mrs Gibbins revealed that the whole thing had left her feeling "shocked" and "angry" as her son, who is in Year 6 at Nottingham Academy, has been bullied previously about his ears

She continued: "[He] feels self conscious and for some random woman to comment on them in public is not ok

"Imagine how my son felt on his way to a fun day out to the cinema with his grandma as an escape from the bullying, only to then be bullied by a shop worker

"After that happened he was so upset he didn't even want to go to the cinema and they came straight home

"  The young boy is now considering having surgery on his ears.  Following the incident, Mrs Gibbins contacted Poundstretcher, who owns Bargain Buys, to complain

A member of the customer service team replied saying: "Thank you for your email and your phone call to customer service

"We were very sorry to hear about this situation - our customers and the service we provide are important to us

"We can assure you that this matter will be taken up with the store and area management and investigated to ensure that it does not happen again

Any action deemed necessary as regards to the assistant will be taken, including further training if required

"  They added: "Please may we take this opportunity to apologise on behalf of the company and hope this incident has not deterred you from shopping in our store in the future

"Thank you for bringing this to our attention."

Royal news : Shopper humiliated after £16 Boohoo party dress left her privates totally exposed - Duration: 3:42.

A MUM has shared her horror after a Boohoo party dress she ordered revealed much more than she had intended

Natalie Magill bought the size 12 frock from the popular clothes website for a friend's 30th birthday - only to discover when she tried it on that it left her VERY exposed

The 28-year-old purchased the £20 midi-dress - now reduced to £16 - through their concession on ASOS' website

In the professional model shots, the navy blue frock, which features a slinky plunge twist at the front, successfully covered up their lower torso

However, when Natalie - who is 5ft8 - tried it on, the split exposed her from just under the belly button down

The international marketing director from Hyde, Greater Manchester, said: "I ordered it for a friend's 30th birthday event

"As soon as I had the opportunity to try it on I did and was pretty excited to slip it on

"The colour initially looked a little different to the image but it was still nice so it didn't put me off

"Putting it on it felt nice but as I positioned it I knew something wasn't quite right

Where is the material to cover your min?  "I was actually howling laughing at it and thought 'surely this can't be right?' My husband also fell about laughing, I don't even think a bigger size would have helped

"After having my son, I was already feeling body conscious and have been working so hard in the gym

"To have something like this not fit, it just completely knocked me and meant I then had to go on the hunt for something else which is frustrating and annoying

"  Natalie noticed that in one of the images on the ASOS site, the model uses her hands to cover an apparent gap - suggesting that it was a problem for her too

The mum-of-one said: "I went back to the original image and noticed the model had her hand across the gaping hole which now makes sense as it's probably designed that way

"But why you'd want a dress like that I don't know.  "I returned the dress a few days later and ASOS have been extremely quick to rectify and refund

"It hasn't completely put me off using Boohoo as a company but I know I'm not the first to sadly have this issue

"  The blow to her confidence comes after Natalie worked hard to lose all her baby weight after she gained 3st 7lbs during her pregnancy with miracle IVF baby Maddox

ASOS has declined to comment, and Boohoo have been approached.      Mortified mum in hysterics after trying on new VERY revealing Boohoo playsuit
