Jussie Smollett under arrest for allegedly lying about hate attack - Latest News - Duration: 2:19.

 Jussie Smollett, who has been charged with lying to cops when he claimed to be the victim of a racist and homophobic attack, turned himself into Chicago police early Thursday

 "Jussie Smollet is under arrest and in custody of detectives," who had earlier contacted the 36-year-old's attorneys to negotiate a reasonable surrender for his arrest, Chicago police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi tweeted

 The "Empire" actor was charged Wednesday with felony disorderly conduct for the allegedly false report he made Jan

29, according to the Cook County State's Attorney office.  Smollett could face probation or up to three years in the slammer if convicted, a Cook County State's Attorney office spokeswoman told NBC Chicago

 He is due in court for a bond hearing at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.  The black actor, who is gay, claimed he was assaulted by two masked men who yelled racist and homophobic slurs at him

He also said his attackers poured what he believed was bleach over him and put a noose around his neck

 The announcement of charges late Wednesday came after Smollett's legal team talked with prosecutors in the morning, police said

 His attorneys said Smollett "enjoys the presumption of innocence, particularly when there has been an investigation like this one where information, both true and false, has been repeatedly leaked

Royal news : Strict wife-to-be reveals she has a 22-point contract which bans her fiancé from behav - Duration: 4:30.

WHEN Trish Barillas' fiancé is at risk of getting on her nerves - for example, by chewing loudly, protesting girls' night or insulting her new favourite song - she can shut it down in a word

 "I just say, 'contract,' and we kind of return to a natural calm state," says the 40-year-old life coach from New York, US

 Trish and Charlie Sandlan, who have been together for a year and a half, have a relationship contract — a 22-item pact outlining their desires and pet peeves

 The couple, now engaged, drafted up their pact just 15 days after their first date

 Charlie, 48, had read about them online and brought the idea up with Trish. She was immediately on board

 "Relationships get messy and confusing," she said. "Contracts are reliable — very crystal clear and concrete

"  For Trish, that means starting her days on a less-than-ideal note. "I hate the radio," she says

But Charlie loves to have it playing in the background when he's getting ready for his day

 "So [he stipulated that] in the mornings, he has to listen to the radio for at least 20 minutes," she says

For the good of the couple, Trish says, "I agreed."  She's also given him football Sundays, two date nights a week and a daily phone call — lasting at least five minutes

 "Normally, I would have felt suffocated" by that much contact, she says. But the contract helped to take the edge off

"This is just what he likes — [it's not] about something I did wrong."  Besides, she points out, Charlie made equally important concessions for her: He's contractually obligated to support her yearly trips with her best friends, to let her pay for things once in a while and to work on not chewing loudly

 Relationship therapists say that contracts like Trish and Charlie's can be helpful — depending on how they're written

 "A long laundry list of annoyances in the form of contractual obligations is not going to fix the relationship," says Jean Fitzpatrick, a marriage counsellor who works on similar agreements with her clients, usually during premarital counselling

 She believes the trend toward dating contracts likely stems from young couples wanting to split up tasks differently than their parents' generation did

 The "emotional prenups" Fitzpatrick works on with her clients focus on problems that would necessitate a return to counselling, such as an ongoing conflict or someone not doing their share of chores

 Trish and Charlie recently re-evaluated their contract to reflect new changes in their relationship: moving in together and getting a puppy

 Some highlights: "Charlie needs to stop judging Trish on her choices of nighttime TV"; "[Trish needs to] clean the tub after [she has] a bath, just a quick wipe-down

" It's helped the new roommates "understand each other's pet peeves, and who does what [around the house]," she said

Royal news : Waste-hating woman wants to make a handbag using skin of her amputated LEG because she - Duration: 4:32.

A WOMAN is trying to find a designer who will make her a handbag – out of her own skin from her amputated leg

 Joan, from Manchester, posted the bizarre request online, called 'my leg handbag'

 The 55-year-old revealed she had peripheral arterial disease, and it was "looking very likely" she was going to have her lower left leg amputated

 But rather than say goodbye to her limb forever, Joan wants to turn it into a handbag

 She posted a request online on Sewport, reaching out to designers who might be willing to take on the project, which she has budgeted £3,000 for

 Joan said: "I was reading about the human waste scandal where they just dumped body parts in a dump to rot and I don't want that to happen to me

"  After chatting about leather with a friend, she had a "lightbulb moment".  She said: "Can I use my amputated leg to create something beautiful and useful?"  After discussing with the hospital whether she could keep her leg, their reaction has been "positive" so Joan is trying to find someone willing to take on the job

 She added: "I'd like a professional already lined up to make it into a handbag.  "I'm thinking medium-sized handbag with a short strap and a section down the middle that will be made from my skin and the rest will be made with another material

"  Joan had made a few sketches of what she had in mind, adding she thought a handbag "is the most logical route to go down

"  She said: "It's basically the same as a leather handbag but this one is with my skin, it belongs to me why not?  "From my own research the person making this handbag will need to know how to preserve skin like with animal / leather products

"  But she acknowledged how bizarre her request was, saying: "I know it's a bit odd and gross, and some people might think I'm crazy, but it's my leg, and I can't bare the thought of it being left to rot somewhere [sic]

 "It's part of me and I want to keep it."  Although she signed off by saying her family "weren't happy" with her idea

 The request was posted on Sewport.com, who confirmed they'd reached out to Joan personally

 They said: "We've never come across a designer wanting to make a handbag from her own skin

 "After corresponding with her, it came to light that she got in touch with us after seeing the request from the lady who wanted the dress made from her Mother's hair, and was inspired to do something similar

 "Before you say 'ew gross!', we've spoken with the woman and her reasoning behind it is actually understandable and very personal

 "We thought who are we judge?  "The designer in question is desperate and struggling to find a professional who can help her, we've helped mock up designs

Man City News - Manchester City fan left in critical condition after attack in Germany - Duration: 1:54.

A Manchester City fan is in a critical condition in hospital in Germany after being attacked following their Champions League last-16 tie against Schalke

 The 32-year-old man was hit by a punch which knocked him to the ground during scuffles involving home and away supporters outside the City section at the VELTINS-Arena

The attack following the first-leg of the European clash left him with a traumatic brain injury, according to the police report

An ambulance took him to a the local medical emergency centre.   The club released a statement on Thursday confirming club staff had remained behind to assist the supporter's family

It said: 'Manchester City are aware of an alleged assault after the match at the VELTINS-Arena in Germany last night

'The club are working with Greater Manchester Police and German Police to ascertain more information

'Club staff have remained in Germany to support the family of an injured City fan who is currently in a critical condition in hospital

'Anyone with information that can help the Police should contact 101.'City won the first-leg clash 3-2 thanks to Raheem Sterling's 90th-minute winner

El Chapo defense to challenge conviction after jury 'followed news' - Daily News - Duration: 7:26.

Lawyers representing Mexican drug lord 'El Chapo' are considering challenging his conviction for trafficking over possible juror misconduct

 Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman was convicted on 10 criminal counts including drug trafficking, conspiracy and using firearms as leader of Mexico's Sinaloa Cartel at Brooklyn federal court last week

The 61-year-old was found to be running a continuing criminal enterprise as the kingpin of one of the world's most powerful drug trafficking organizations during the 1990s and 2000s

But on Wednesday his legal team said they were considering filing a motion of potential juror misconduct after a member of the jury told a news website that several jurors looked at media coverage of the case during the trial

The anonymous juror told VICE News that at least five members of the jury followed news reports and Twitter feeds about the case, against a judge's orders, and were aware of potentially prejudicial material that jurors weren't supposed to see

 Scroll down for video.  U.S. District Judge Brian Cogan had instructed jurors not to read media coverage of the case or discuss it with one another at the end of every day during the nearly three-month trial Jurors deliberated for six days after three months of testimony and the guilty verdict, delivered on February 12, could put him behind bars for the rest of his life

 The juror said that multiple jurors lied when Cogan asked them directly whether they had read specific media reports related to the case, according to Vice News

The juror also claimed that the deliberations stretched on for six days because of a single holdout who was uncertain about the charges, and that two jurors essentially refused to take part in the process, Vice News reported

The juror said that although they were ultimately convinced of Guzman's guilt, some were reluctant to send him to what is likely to be lifelong solitary confinement

Guzman's lawyer, Eduardo Balarezo, said the issues of potential juror misconduct raised in the VICE article 'are deeply concerning and distressing'

Balarezo said in a statement: 'The juror's allegations of the jury's repeated and widespread disregard and contempt for the Court's instructions, if true, make it clear that Joaquin did not get a fair trial

  'We will review all available options before deciding on a course of action.'As part of the extraordinary security measures surrounding the trial, jurors were brought to and from court each day by armed U

S. marshals, and their names were never made public. Prosecutors said the measures were necessary because of Guzman's history of intimidating witnesses

Guzman twice escaped from prison in Mexico before his final capture in January 2016

He was extradited to the United States in January 2017. The Sinaloa Cartel still has the biggest U

S. distribution presence of Mexican cartels, followed by the fast-growing Jalisco New Generation Cartel, according to the U

S. Drug Enforcement Administration.VICE reported that the juror requested anonymity and would not provide a name to the reporter

But the jury spoke to the reporter via video chat for two hours, and the reporter said he recognized the juror from the trial

The juror told VICE at least five jurors involved in deliberations and two alternates heard about allegations that Guzman drugged and raped underage girls, even though that evidence was kept out of the trial because it was seen as prejudicial

The allegations, made public on the eve of deliberations, appeared in news coverage and tweets about the case

 The juror said the revelations didn't seem to factor into Guzman's guilty verdict, VICE reported

'That didn't change nobody's mind for sure,' the juror said, according to VICE. 'We weren't really hung up on that

It was just like a five-minute talk and that's it, no more talking about that.' Share this article Share Asked why the judge wasn't told about jurors looking at news reports, the juror told VICE: 'I thought we would get arrested

I thought they would hold me in contempt. I didn't want to say anything or rat out my fellow jurors

I didn't want to be that person. I kept it to myself.'Lawyer Jeffrey Lichtman said: 'The jury clearly ignored the judge's daily admonitions against not only looking at the press but also had inappropriate communications with each other

  'We're researching the issue now and will make any appropriate motions for relief

Joaquin Guzman deserved a fair trial.' Legal experts say that while it's too early to talk about potentially throwing out the verdict, this could at least lead the defense to ask for a chance to question jurors about their exposure to news coverage and whether it affected their decisions

If it is found that the verdict was influenced by this information the conviction could be overturned or a new trial could be ordered by the judge

 University of Dayton law professor Thaddeus Hoffmeister said Guzman's lawyers will have to demonstrate not only that there was juror misconduct but that it had a prejudicial impact

 He said: 'The challenge now becomes for the court to determine whether this somehow influenced their decision making

'The U.S. Attorney's Office in Brooklyn declined to comment. At present El Chapo is due set to be sentenced in June
