Will Apple News Be Successful: Media in 60 Seconds - Duration: 1:36.

Hi I'm Isabel Rouhghol

here in LinkedIn London

for your Media in 60 Seconds!

I've got your questions right here.

Let's go!

Yes absolutely.

We've been talking about this for years. The concept is you pay a monthly subscription

and you get access to news from a bunch of different sources.

Now unfortunately it looks like news publishers are not the ones pulling the trigger on this idea.

It looks like it's going to be Apple.

And Apple, according to The Wall Street Journal, wants to keep 50 percent of the revenue and not

share any of the data with publishers.

So again dependent on a single tech platform.

Not great for them.

So Maria Ressa.

She's CEO and founder of Rappler digital news site.

She was arrested under a libel law which was not even in the books when she published the

story in question.

So it's really about her journalism especially around extrajudicial killings in the drug

wars in the Philippines.

And the government of Duterte. She was freed on bail.

However her problems are not over and we should keep paying attention.

Well just like hacking really depends on the human element and on you clicking a link that

you shouldn't. So does misinformation.

So if you see a story that's playing on your gut and your outrage and your emotions.

Think for a second whether it's actually accurate before sharing it.

That's one thing that you can do.

Next week we'll talk about why we really need to stop using that word "fake news".

So that's a bit over a minute.

I'll talk to you next week!

Kofi Kingston WrestleMania Plans REVEALED? WWE BOTCHES MAJOR NXT CALL-UPS! | WrestleTalk News 2019 - Duration: 12:04.

Brock Lesnar is nowhere to be seen.

Seth Rollins can't wrestle on TV.

And all of Ronda Rousey's opponents are on SmackDown!

Which can only mean it's time for…

WWE's bimonthly crap the bed episode!

It's a New Era, with the same old s- And it's a New Era here on WrestleTalk too,

as this Raw review is evolving into a Super Review/News.

Revnews.

Super ReNews.

With Luke Owen running through the biggest wrestling stories in this video after my Raw

review.

Click the timestamps down below if you want to go right there!

I'm Oli Davis - give us a subscribe, press the thumbs up button, and answer our question

of the day in the comments: what did you think of WWE's shock NXT call ups?

Where I'll be replying to people FROM OUTTA NOWHERE!

And click the 'i' above my head to give your rating of the show - where you can choose

from: RawSome, Cor, AVRAWGE, Poor and RawFul - as I review the 18th February, 2019 edition

of Monday Night Raw ...in about 4 minutes.

Prepare yourselves, because it's a negative one.

Triple H Takeovers Raw Triple H opened the show recapping all the

Elimination Chamber title changes], said Becky Lynch was cool for beating up Ronda Rousey

and Charlotte (but not when it's him who's suspending her) and that he's going into

this year's Hall of Fame with DX.

So far, so generic Triple H in-ring promo.

But then he revealed that top NXT stars Ricochet, Aleister Black, Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny

Gargano would be debuting on tonight's Raw.

What a shock announcement that I'm sure has absolutely nothing to do with Raw's

massive ratings decline, how it's severely lacking in star power or that new thing called

All Elite Wrestling.

Perhaps the sudden call-ups could be the much needed shake-up to Raw's non-existent main

event scene.

Perhaps this really is a New Era!

And to prove that Raw is changing, the in-ring action is going to kick off with...

Braun Strowman beat Baron Corbin Braun Strowman vs Baron Corbin.

You were so close, WWE!

Braun beat Corbin in a tables match, with Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley nowhere to

be seen.

So that Elimination Chamber angle meant nothing.

Hopefully that's the end of this incredibly dull feud.

Paul Heyman's Here Because Brock Lesnar Isn't!

Hopefully we'll also soon be seeing the end of Brock's reign of absence.

Because as cool as video packages hyping him are, having Paul Heyman cut a promo introducing

a video package of Paul Heyman cutting a promo about Lesnar was laughable.

Finn Balor & Ricochet beat Bobby Lashley & Lio Rush

Admittedly, Lesnar's probably not around because Finn Balor and Seth Rollins made him

believe so hard.

Really taught him a lesson, lads.

The new Intercontinental champion was jumped next by Lio Rush and Bobby Lashley because

I guess that Elimination Chamber angle also meant nothing.

Cue Ricochet running down for the save.

Or, more aptly, 'handspring somersaulting into a forward roll 650 senton down for the

save'.

While he got his s-word in and the winning pin over Rush, this was far from the most

effective debut of Ricochet.

An NXT call-up from outta nowhere, with half an hour's build and no contextual character

work… in a formulaic midcard tag match with Balor and Bobby Rush-ley.

It's ok, though, I'm sure they've got something special planned for the other three

guys.

Lucha House Party beat Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins Curt Hawkins continued his losing streak with

Zack Ryder against Lucha House Party.

Heavy Machinery & Lacey Evans Walk The Walk With all the new shiny NXT stars on this show,

you'd might worry WWE wouldn't get time to continue systematically ruining the last

bunch of call-ups.

Silly you, of course they'd have time.

Raw's three hours.

Lacey Evans got to do her half-entrance gimmick, which was bad, and then Heavy Machinery did

their version of it.

Which was also bad.

Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa beat The Revival The next two NXT call-ups were arguably the

biggest of the bunch - the NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa and his long term frenemy, the North

American Champion Johnny Gargano.

Not that long term storylines matter, though, as Ciampa and Johnny behaved like humble babyfaces

here representing their beloved NXT - a promotion they've run roughshod over for the last

year.

It's just the latest example of NXT existing in a separate, much better continuity to the

main roster.

Whatever's going on, it's hard to complain too much when you get The Revival vs DIY,

who of course wrestled a very good match.

Sadly though, it wasn't just WWE's short-sighted booking that made this show so frustrated,

it was also the Louisiana crowd, who hardly reacted to the match and debuting wrestlers.

But, then again, it's not all their fault.

This isn't the Raw after WrestleMania crowd, who know every word to Bobby Roode's entrance

music.

This is Lafayette, a relatively small town seemingly there to enjoy main roster wrestlers

they know from TV - not a show built around four brand new wrestlers with practically

zero context.

WWE choosing to debut their NXT call-ups here hints towards a last-minute, not-well-thought

strategy.

And this should have most definitely been the main event to at least make it look like

WWE cared about making these guys top stars.

Bayley & Sasha Banks Cut Scripted In-Ring Promo

Even with all the real-life emotion of becoming WWE's inaugural Women's Tag Team Champions,

scripted in-ring promos aren't Bayley and Sasha Banks' thing, and this was pretty

stilted.

It got worse when Nia Jax and Tamina came out, to be lamely chased off.

Drew McIntyre beat Dean Ambrose Drew McIntyre demanded a match against Seth

Rollins from Triple H backstage - but remember, there are no authority figures - and Dean

Ambrose just walked up and slapped him instead.

This resulted in McIntyre beating Ambrose in just two minutes.

I've gotta hand it to Vince, this whole Dean leaving WWE storyline is one hell of

a work.

Ambrose asked Seth Rollins backstage afterwards why he didn't help him out in his match,

forgetting the last four months of blood feuding between the two.

Give me some of that sweet, sweet medicine.

Wait a second… what's that noise?

It sounds like a drumroll.

Could it be… the Terry Funks counter has returned for Dean Ambrose!

Which says his current Funks given status is… 0.

Aleister Black Debuts In An Elias Segment When you thought of Aleister Black's main

roster debut, you probably fantasy booked a showdown with the Undertaker, or maybe knocking

out a top champion with one kick.

But sometimes, like with Kofi Kingston last week, WWE gives you something you never knew

you wanted: a competitive match against Elias.

You only get one chance to debut, and this was the cherry on top of Raw's crap cake.

Every single NXT call-up was lacklustre, rushed, firmly in the midcard and wasting of almost

unlimited potential.

I'm not saying they won't get over and be booked better in time - although looking

at the last several years of NXT call-ups, not the best track record for that - but I

am saying this episode of Raw and their debuts is a stupidly short-sighted rush job on WWE's

behalf, likely stuck in the damaging mentality of NXT wrestlers having to work from the ground

up on the main roster, rather than debuting them as what they could be: major stars who

can rejuvenate the desperately empty main event scene.

And these debuts aren't just wasteful of the wrestlers themselves, or the potential

main roster storylines they could have been introduced in.

It also significantly undermines NXT and these four guys years of fantastic character work

and feuds.

Ronda Rousey beat Ruby Riott And to cap off a terrible show, we got a rematch

of that classic 2 minute Ruby Riott vs Ronda Rousey bout from the previous night.

A match that makes no sense in being booked, as Ronda had beaten Riott easily.

She did so again here, and then she beat up the rest of the Riott Squad.

And that's your main event angle.

Utter crap.

In my opinion, this was one of the most damaging episodes of WWE television I've ever seen.

Not just because of it being weirdly boring considering the shock NXT call-ups - some

shocks aren't that great, after all, like surprise punch in the ball - but also because

how this affects the future of the promotion, ineffectively debuting what was supposed to

be your next few years of top talent.

This week's Raw is a low, low, low, low, low Rawful.

Now over to Luke, who's got the latest on what Kofi Kingston is doing at WrestleMania,

and some very weird comments from Paige on WWE fans…

Thank you Oli!

A seamless transition from an excellent review.

Kofi Kingston WrestleMania Plans Revealed?

Kofi Kingston has had the most incredible seven days of his professional career.

This time last week, Kofi was just part of the fun tag team act New Day with no place

on the Elimination Chamber card - and then one Smackdown episode later he's pinned

Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe and WWE Champion Daniel Bryan - and then a few days later he's pinned

Randy Orton inside the Chamber and got arguably the biggest crowd reactions of the whole night

- nearly winning the WWE Championship from Captain Planet himself.

This performance - and the shot of Kofi and his New Day pals sat outside the Chamber with

the WrestleMania sign looming over their heads - had led a lot of fans to plead with WWE

to give Kofi a WWE Championship shot at WrestleMania - paying off an 11-year run with the company

by winning arguably their top title.

However according to Dave Meltzer on Twitter, Daniel Bryan vs. Kofi Kingston for the WWE

Championship at WrestleMania is not the plan as of Monday.

When one fan said that WWE would have a plan for Bryan at WrestleMania in place, Meltzer

cryptically responded saying, "They know now".

Which certainly ties into WWE announcing that Bryan's Fastlane opponent will be revealed

on Smackdown tonight, which should give us a better indication of Bryan's road to WrestleMania

and a potential match with Kingston.

Headline:

And even with the incredible wave of momentum for Kofi Kingston, one of the biggest matches

being talked about for Mania is the triple threat between Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair

and Becky Lynch - a match that many are speculating will be the actual main event of the show,

as in the match that actually closes out the night.

It's a huge step in WWE's corporately created Women's Evolution - which has seen

women headline PPVs, get their own PPV and even introduce new main roster titles.

It's certainly a big step up from WWE presenting women as sideshow attractions for titilation,

or piss breaks to buffer quote "proper matches" - something many fans lobbied for hard with

the #GiveDivasAChance movement.

But, not according to Paige it would seem.

Paige here told GulfNews in an interview to promote her biopic Fighting With My Family,

"It was never WWE holding the women back.

It was the fans not taking them seriously."

As you would image, these comments caught the ire of many wrestling fans who took against

being blamed for WWE presenting women a certain way - with Twitter user Boris compiling this

amazing Twitter thread showing various examples of that not being the case like Michelle McCool

revealing she and Melina were shouted at backstage for being "better than the guys", and

was once told to re-tape one of her matches because her punches looked to good, Nikki

Bella saying one of her matches with AJ Lee getting cut from 15 minutes to 30 seconds,

and even Trish Stratus revealing that she once lost her Women's Championship because

she refused to kiss Torrie Wilson as she didn't it fit her character.

Paige has fired back on Twitter, saying that her comment of "it was never WWE holding

women back.

It was the fans" was taken out of context saying it was a combination of the fans and

WWE.

She told one fan, "Even up to a few years ago certain places we would wrestle in, the

fans in big arenas would chant boring to the girls or start the wave or for years chanted

"we want puppies", telling another "Fans back then would call us toilet breaks.

It was only when the girls, the female superstars took it upon themselves to change the way

anyone perceived us."

Adding in another tweet, "In reality what I said was it's not all on WWE.

Up until a few years ago women didn't have the support from a lot of people."

How the News Business Brought Maury Povich and Connie Chung Together - You Up w/ Nikki Glaser - Duration: 13:34.

In New York City they have one great rule about Central Park:

seven to nine in the morning, off the leash for a dog,

so my dog runs every morning.

We're out there around quarter seven,

we run for about half hour 45. I don't run.

It's fun to watch you're dog run though.

You look like you're in great ...

You are.

I'm all right.

I walk on the golf course, I don't use carts if I ...

That's good.

Unless I'm in a mountain.

But that it's fun watching your dog run in the dewy grass

in the morning. Just like let loose.

And they all kind of roll over.

Oh, my God. It's so fun to watch.

And I figured out how not to have him attack other dogs.

Since he's a golden retriever.

I put a ball in his mouth and he won't let go of the ball.

So, he can't bite anybody.

That's genius. That's really smart.

So, he runs throughout the park with a ball in his mouth.

But he's not going to let go of that thing.

Let go of the ball.

Snap at another dog.

He may bark, you know, a muffled bark but that's it.

So, why didn't your shows last?

You know, so many different reasons,

just like internal things. And then also you get ...

Who did you work for?

Like you said about ...

Comedy Central who I now work for on the radio and then MTV.

So, they didn't play it enough. I want to do a show,

if I ever do a talk show again, it cannot be one time a week.

Oh, it's only once a week.

If they don't replay it,

the audience doesn't get to know you, and trust you.

You can't gather an audience once a week-

But you don't have the time to and they don't time.

... unless you're some variety show.

You see, it's very interesting, for instance, in daytime,

they've tried so many actors, comedians,

people who were never, ever broadcasters as talk show hosts:

it didn't work.

I'm very interested, for instance,

next year Kelly Clarkson is going to do a talk show,

and so, it's going to be interesting

as to whether that works. Ellen works.

Ellen worked.

Ellen worked.

Rosie O'Donnell worked.

For a while.

For a while. I loved the-

But then she got dark, you know what I mean?

Yes. Yeah. I got a little weird at the end.

But in the heyday, that was a fun one.

But these things come and go.

I mean, you must see them come and go all the time.

Can you tell when something's going to work?

For instance, I mean, there are a lot of ...

I knew Jane Pauley wouldn't work,

I knew Meredith Vieira wouldn't work.

Well first of all, you have to understand

these were people who made their mark

and made their reputations in shows that were an ensemble:

the today show is an ensemble. Hey, Matt Lauer, right?

Biggest name in the world, not there, still Today Show

works, you know, bring on the next person, plug them in.

It's an ensemble.

It can exist without someone and it ...

Yes. Okay.

You go alone, you've got to be a different person

than you were when you were that ensemble.

And so, it just doesn't work that way.

Didn't work that way.

They didn't develop that skill as a solo host

or the audience isn't going to want to see them in that role?

I guess. I mean, you never know how far you can get that way

unless you do something solo.

Yeah, you gotta try.

You gotta do something solo

before you know you're going to work.

I mean, and it took me a long time ...

First of all, I mean, look, I'm a news guy,

I never got along with my co-anchors ever.

Really?

I mean, look, years and years ago,

I was the second banana to a woman named Connie Chung

at the biggest station in LA, and guess what?

They fired me, it didn't work.

You guys met at a station? Oh yeah.

Working together?

Oh Sure.

Oh my God. Was that so fun?

In the early days of like no one knew?

First of all, I started before her,

I'm much older than she is, not much significantly older,

and so, I was a pretty big name in Washington, D.C.

my hometown.

She was hired as the assistant to the news director,

the secretary, okay?

The first job that opens up in a newsroom

is a weekend writing job. She wants the job.

The news director says, "You can't have the job,

you're my assistant, you're my secretary, you can't ... "

"Yes, I want the job."

"Well, you can't get the job unless you replace yourself."

She walks out of the newsroom, across the street, into a bank,

looks at the first woman teller and says,

"You want to be in TV? Come with me."

Replaced herself and became a big star.

And nobody really knew who she was,

and then all of a sudden we're going,

"Wow, that took a lot of guts.

I mean, that's really aggressive."

And so, she becomes a star.

She goes to LA, she becomes a big anchor,

and then I'm hired as her second banana, her co-anchor.

That didn't work.

And six months later the new General Manager fired me,

and then she took such pity on me, we started to date.

Wait. You dated after?

-Yeah. -Nothing happened before?

No, I mean, no I just knew her.

Was there any flirtation?

Oh, maybe. I don't know.

Yeah. I mean, there had to be a little something, something.

Well, Connie, she had become a pretty big star at CBS

in the Washington bureau during Watergate.

I mean, she was a big star during Watergate.

And so, she went to LA and became a huge hit,

she was the only person I knew

in that whole West Coast newsroom.

And so, when I got fired, she took pity on me.

Well, how did that feel?

Getting fired was the worst thing in my life,

and the best thing in my life

because the greatest fear of anyone in this business

is getting fired. That's the worst fear because:

A, you don't know what it's going to feel like,

and B, will you ever work again?

And so, when you end up having the feeling

at least you know what it's like, it's shit.

It's shit. It's shit.

That's so true. You got to go through it.

I believe that that's all part of my personality

that I bring out.

Hey, I've had my lows. You know, I've been fired,

I've laid down on a couch and wondered to myself,

"Should I be in this business? I mean, what the hell."

Yeah. Oh, that's great to hear that you've had that thought.

Oh, yeah. No, I mean, and then what you do,

you end up watching TV.

You know, and I'm watching all the newscast.

I'm saying, "Shit. I'm as good as that guy.

You know, I can do that story. What the heck?"

And so, I got a job in San Francisco

about three or four months later,

and then we started dating and had a commuting relationship

between LA and San Francisco.

We dated for eight years before we got married.

That's smart.

But not exclusively. She says, I dated people

I couldn't even remember their first names.

And she dated nothing but stars in Hollywood.

Oh, really? I love this. That sounds fun.

So, before you got married and settle down,

you were together, and you would see each other when you could,

but you were just like,

"Hey, we're in different cities, things are gonna happen."

Exactly. I love that.

I love it.

In fact, she would say to me sometimes,

"Well, maybe we should get married."

And I'd say, no I want to." And then I would say to her,

"Well, maybe we should get married."

And she say, "No, I don't want to."

And then finally, she called me up and she said,

"We can get married now." I said, "Why?"

She says, "Because I found a dress."

So, she called it in the end.

Six weeks later we got married.

Oh, my Gosh.

And that was 34 years ago.

And then where did you move after that when you got married?

Well, then I was back in Washington,

and she was in New York,

and we commuted for the first two years.

And then this wild Australia

named Rupert Murdoch called up and said,

"We're doing start this show called a Current Affair,

and we're going to move you to New York.

And you're going to find out

whether you can live with your wife."

Now, you have to understand, I was a local anchorman.

So, I would come to New York every week

or two to see each other on the weekends we were married,

and I would go to the apartment building

and I would say, "Connie Chung please."

Who is this? I said, "I'm her husband."

And he would call up and say, "Miss Chung.

Mr. Chung is down stairs."

And that's when I knew, that I had a long way to go.

That's so fun. I love your wife.

She's is indefatigable. She's the best.

I gotta look that word up later.

Good I think.

It's got to be good.

Nothing can penetrate her.

Except you.

Yeah, that's true. That's true. Once in a while. Thanks Chris.

No problem man. That's why I'm here, just sniping.

Nikki does the ... I just snip in somehow.

Some hit, some don't hit. It's what it is.

Nikki's approval.

Oh boy.

She just went after what she wanted,

and told you when it was, "No-"

She was back to going across the street

and taking a girl from the bank and saying,

"Do you want to be in TV because I want this job."

What happened to that girl at the bank?

She said she ended up being a talk show producer

for me at that station.

That's what happens.

No way. So she did. She wanted to be on TV.

See that? See that?

All you bank tellers out there.

First of all, do they have bank tellers anymore?

I don't know. I do everything on my app.

Yeah, that's true.

I mean, if it's not ATM is there anybody

ever go into the bank anymore?

I don't know. I don't either.

I recently wrote a joke where I was like,

"And I went to the bank."

And I'm like, "No one's believing this right now.

When is anyone in here been to a bank?

And I go, "I didn't go to the bank.

Let me put it somewhere else as CVS."

Yes. CVS. Yeah.

You do everything on the app, right?

You meet with girls, you put you're check in.

Are you on Instagram, are you on Twitter?

Yeah, all that stuff.

How do you feel about it? Do you like it?

Well, the show is on it, first of all.

We've got like, 3 million Facebook people

and another million YouTube people.

But I have a hard time.

I see a lot of people who I know who are in the business,

they're on Twitter, and I wake up in the morning,

I usually wake up like six 6/6:30 to walk the dog,

and all of a sudden all these people are on Twitter.

I'm like,"

What the hell are you doing this early in the morning?"

Just responding to stuff. It's almost like being a shrink.

I think Twitter's become a shrink.

What do you mean?

Oh, just people pouring out their emotions that they should

maybe go on a walk with their dog and work out?

"Well, let me tell you what happened to me."

Really? Do I really want to know?

Yeah, I know. It's sad sometimes.

You see like if one of your friends

is having like a manic moment and you're like,

"You might want to pull this back a little bit."

And then, of course, you better not do anything wrong

because somebody's got a phone and it's on video.

-Oh yeah. -Oh yeah.

I mean, how is it like for you out there?

Are people coming up to you-

Boring as shit.

You're getting recognized all the time and have been-

Well, first of all, if it's a guy right?

"Can you say, "Stan, you are not the father.

Maury Povich write it down here."

That kind of stuff. And there are a lot of selfies.

I don't mind it. Over the years,

I've known personalities who just don't do that:

don't sign autographs, don't take pictures,

and I'm saying, "Hey man. I mean, you spend a lot of time

trying to get people to look at you, get into your life

and then you just shove them away

and don't have anything to do it."

Look I'm on television five days a week,

an hour or two hours a day, if they know you,

that's the best of the alternative.

What happens if they don't know you?

That means that you're screwing up

and you ain't making it work?

Yeah, yeah. The fact that you're being recognized.

Yeah. You're doing a good job.

You just taking a few seconds of your life

to sign a ... they're a fan for life.

It doesn't matter what you do, it's always gonna be like,

"I'm team Maury."

Oh, I love selfies. They're quick

phone to someone else, so you don't have to look at it again.

You're done. Yeah,

You've been famous for decades,

isn't that kind of fun selfies have changed,

maybe the getting recognized expedited that?

There used to be the Polaroid.

I think it's fun.

Yeah, I mean, it is. I mean, it's the new Polaroid.

Yes. It totally is.

Stay right here Maury. We'll see how it looks. Yeah.

Liverpool news: Why I have changed my mind on Jurgen Klopp's side - Paul Merson - Duration: 2:33.

That is according to former Arsenal and England attacking midfielder Paul Merson

Merson has previously stated Liverpool would be better off being knocked out of cup competitions so they can focus on winning the Premier League

Jurgen Klopp's side lost to Wolves in the third round of the FA Cup and were knocked out of the Carabao Cup at the first hurdle by Chelsea last September

However, Merson admits he has changed his mind and believes exiting the FA Cup hampered Liverpool's momentum

And ahead of Tuesday's Champions League last-16 first leg clash at home to Bayern Munich, the Sky Sports pundit claims Liverpool have a good chance of going far in the competition

"I always think look after the next game, look after the next game," Merson said on The Debate

"I sat on here a while back and said they could do with getting knocked out of the FA Cup

"I think that backfired on them in the end. "They had a two-week break, went away, lost all momentum, came back, didn't really get going again, drew both games

"So I think that hurt them a bit, I really did. "Every player wants to play football, they don't want to train, you want to play

"You'd rather play, bang, bang, Saturday, Wednesday, Saturday, Wednesday, Sunday, Wednesday

"I think [go out to] win this game. I think it's there for them to win this game, I really do

"I think it's a prime time to play Bayern Munich. "There's not a lot about in this competition

"I think it's as wide open as any Champions League I've seen for a long time."

Man City News - Man City fly out to Germany ahead of crunch Schalke clash in Champions League - Duration: 3:01.

Manchester City have flown to Germany for Wednesday's Champions League game against Schalke without four first-team players

Neither Gabriel Jesus nor John Stones trained on Tuesday and both are absent from the squad that travelled to Gelsenkirchen, despite playing against Newport in the FA Cup on Saturday

The Round of 16 first-leg has come too soon for Benjamin Mendy in his recovery from injury and the left-back will remain in Manchester this week, alongside England midfielder Fabian Delph

City boss Pep Guardiola has handed an opportunity to young centre-back in the absence of Stones

Sandler, 22, arrived in Manchester from PEC Zwolle last summer but the Dutch defender has so far been restricted to appearances in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup

He takes his place in a 20-man squad alongside club captain Vincent Kompany.  Olkesandr Zinchenko was also part of the travelling party and in the absence of Mendy and Delph is likely to line up at left-back in Germany, although Aymeric Laporte and Danilo have also filled that position this season

Guardiola has named three goalkeepers in the squad as Aro Muric and Daniel Grimshaw provide back-up for first-choice Ederson

However, there is no place in the squad for youngsters Jeremie Frimpong, Ian Poveda, Benjamin Garre and Iker Pozo - who all trained with the first-team on Tuesday morning - or defender Eliaquim Mangala

City have been noted for the style in which they travel and Tuesday was no exception as the squad arrived at Manchester airport in stylish blue jumpers and dark jackets

Leroy Sane will hope to start the Champions League tie on his homecoming and the Schalke academy graduate could come up against a couple of former City players

Wales international Rabbi Matondo swapped Manchester for Gelsenkirchen in January while Matija Nastasic is also on Schalke's books

City squad:  Ederson, Muric, Grimshaw, Zinchenko, Otamendi, Sandler, Laporte, Kompany, Danilo, Walker, Fernandinho, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Silva, Bernardo, Mahrez, Foden, Sterling, Sane, Aguero

Chelsea news: Pedro makes Man Utd 'trouble' claim as Maurizio Sarri faces the sack - Duration: 3:33.

Chelsea were dumped out of the FA Cup by United shortly after their 6- humbling by Manchester City in their last Premier League game

Manager Maurizio Sarri is now under intense pressure and owner Roman Abramovich is reported to be considering his future

Sarri will remain in charge for Chelsea's Europa League clash with Malmo on Thursday as they look to make put their poor form around immediately

They hold a slender 2-1 lead going into the second leg of the last-32 tie. And Pedro says it is a must-win game for the players and the manager

"It's a pity because it was a good opportunity for us to continue in this competition," the Spaniard said on the United game

"It was a very bad day for us, for all the team. It's a difficult situation. "In the first half we played very well, we created chances to score one goal, but they had two situations and scored two goals

"The most important thing was to do a good job creating chances with the ball in the second half, but we couldn't do it and for this reason it was so difficult for us to come back

"There is an important game in the Europa League for us, and, after, the final against City

"The most important thing now is to stay calm, train really hard and recover our best football and our best feeling, because if not we are in trouble

" Sarri echoed Pedro's words about the United game but insists they were not as bad as the result suggested

"I think with the result we were unlucky because in the first half we played better than the opponent and at the end of the first half it was 2-," he said

"In the second half it was really very difficult to play. They are a very physical team and defended low and compact

" More worryingly for Chelsea fans, Sarri also admitted he was confused by the way his side played in the second half

"We played confusing football in the second half but in the first half we played well," he added

"We need to be more aggressive and determined with situations in our box and the opposition box because the difference was there

"We played 78 balls in the opposing box and United played only 16 in ours, but the result was 2-, so that was the difference

" Asked whether he still had the support of his struggling players, he continued: "I think so

"Of course I'm not sure, but I think so. I think the situation with the players is very good in terms of our relationship but that's not so important

"What's important is to play and get good results but my relationship with the players at the moment is good

✅ Breaking News - Paulo Dybala credits success at Juventus to coach Massimiliano Allegri - Duration: 2:52.

Paulo Dybala believes he has been given freedom to play where he wants by Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri

The Serie A leaders travel to play Atletico Madrid in the last-16 of the Champions League on Wednesday evening

Juventus have lifted the European Cup twice, although not since 1996 and have lost two finals since, in 2015 and 2017

Share this article Share Speaking to UEFA.com, Dybala was full of praise for coach Allegri despite a reported disagreement between the pair following an incident after a 3-3 draw against Parma in the Serie A on February 2

The Argentinian forward said: 'I have learnt a great deal form him, particularly in terms of the way we work, how to be a model professional and being fully focused during training so that you know what to expect during games

'Right from the first day that I arrived here, he's always given me the freedom to go out, perform and play where I wanted to

'I think that trust is very important and it's a really good feeling when a player feels they're part of what such a big club is trying to achieve

'Dybala admitted he compares current team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo to Argentinian forward Lionel Messi, having played with both

He said: 'I compare him (Ronaldo) to Leo Messi, because everyone else does, and I think that they're two exceptional players

'You learn a great deal from players and people like them, both on and off the field

'On Ronaldo, he added: '(He) is a laid-back and normal guy, like the rest of us.'That helps make you feel comfortable when you're in the presence of such a player

'Juventus have finished as runners-up in the Champions League a record seven times, and Dybala wants to see his team change that record

The 25-year-old believes his side have shown their potential in the competition and their ability to challenge for the title

'We've got a great squad with some top professionals, who have gained a lot of experience over the course of these years

'We're clearly contenders, but we have to go out there and prove it.' Share this article Share

Man City News - Manchester City stars arrive at airport for flight to Germany - Duration: 4:38.

Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City players have been spotted arriving at the city's airport as they prepare to fly to Germany for the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie with Schalke

Sergio Aguero and Co looked sharp in matching blue jumpers designed by DSQUARED2 as they strolled into the departures area ahead of their flight to Dusseldorf

City and DSQUARED2, an Italian brand, announced their multi-year partnership in October 2016

Since then, DSQUARED2 have dressed the club's players and coaching staff in their pre-match outfits for away Champions League matches

The like of Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, David Silva and Raheem Sterling were all present as the stars unloaded their luggage off the team bus and wheeled it into the terminal building

Sterling covered his blue jumper up with a DSQUARED2 coat to keep out the cold weather while manager Guardiola opted for a black ensemble as he prepares to return to Germany after managing Bayern Munich between 2013 and 2016

There will be cause for concern for City though as both Gabriel Jesus and John Stones were two notable absences from the travelling party

Neither player trained at the club's open session on Tuesday morning and are not on the plane to Germany

Fabian Delph and Benjamin Mendy were also left behind while captain Vincent Kompany has been included

Guardiola's side are heavy favourites against a side who are 14th in the Bundesliga, and will hope to take a hefty advantage into the second-leg next month

This week is shaping up to be season-defining for Guardiola as his side continue to fight for silverware on all four fronts

After reaching the quarter-finals of the FA Cup with victory over Newport they play Chelsea in the final of the Carabao Cup on Sunday

But Ilkay Gundogan fears that without European success City will not be remembered as a top team

'If you want to be in the international elite, when you want to be there both as a club and as a player, you need to clinch this trophy,' the German international said

'You can't go past it, at least in my opinion. I think that, if we were to win it someday, the club would enter a new era

'(It would be lifted) to the same level as Real, Barca, Bayern or Juventus, clubs that are maybe a step above us

Maybe not in the way they play football, but as a club at least.'Our job is to try and give it our all to make it a reality someday

We'll try and will hopefully manage that somehow.'We've experienced a lot in the Champions League in recent years - not all of it positive, of course

'We should've won it at least once. So as you can imagine, there's a very big drive within us to do something in the Champions League

The biggest low was probably being knocked out by Liverpool last season.'For that reason, the motivation to go far in this competition is huge and I think we have the quality required

Man Utd news: Jadon Sancho transfer will only happen on these TWO conditions - Duration: 2:28.

The England international has impressed for the Bundesliga side and the Red Devils have made him their top target as a result

The Mirror claim United will also have to pay in excess of £100million to secure a deal for the 18-year-old

The club are said to be keen on bringing a winger who can play on the right this summer

Sancho left Manchester City in 2017 over a lack of first-team opportunities and has impressed at Dortmund

This season the winger has scored eight goals and made 13 assists in all competitions

And that has made Manchester United sit up and take notice as they look at ways to improve their squad in the summer

The fact Dortmund are top of the Bundesliga and certain of Champions League qualification makes it imperative the Red Devils finish in the top four

If they were to not, Sancho would likely snub the chance to make a switch to Old Trafford

The teenager is tied to Dortmund until 2022 and they do not want to sell him at any price

But the reports claim any offer of over £100m would be too good for the German giants to reject

United would also be paying Manchester City inadvertently as they included a 15 per cent sell-on clause when Dortmund signed the youngster

Sancho now has three England caps to his name following a breakthrough season. The Dortmund winger has been told at the club for now though because of competition at Old Trafford

"Anthony Martial just got a new deal, didn't he," ESPN pundit Alejandro Moreno said

"Marcus Rashford's not going anywhere, Jesse Lingard's not going anywhere. "So if you're Sancho, do you want a piece of that? Stay where you are right now

With a tagline of 'once discredited, everywhere restricted', it vows to punish 'untrustworthy' citizens in as many ways as possible

The figures were released yesterday by the country's National Public Credit Information Centre, the governing body of the social credit system

So far, the Centre has put 14.21 million incidents on its social credit blacklist

In 2018 alone, four million entries involving nearly 3.6 million discredited individuals were added into the database

The report says the authority has further expanded the area monitored by the social credit system to fields such as charity and scientific research, and tougher punishments will be given in the future

Number of EU nationals working in the UK falls by 61,000 - News Live - Duration: 2:25.

Remain campaigners have blamed Brexit for the fall in the number of EU nationals by 61,000 over the last year

Green Party MP Caroline Lucas says the figures are a sign that Brexit has made Europeans feel unwelcome in the UK

The Office for National Statistics reported that the number of overseas nationals in work was still increasing but of that those from the continent fell

In particular there has been a drop in the number of people from the Eastern European countries which joined the EU in 2004

There were an estimated 2.27 million EU nationals working in the UK in the latest quarter, 61,000 fewer than a year earlier

While the number of non-EU nationals increased by 130,000 to 1.29 million.  Best for Britain supporter Caroline Lucas MP said: "This is further evidence that Brexit has made EU nationals living in the UK feel unwanted

"That's the opposite of what our country needs right now. Our hospitals need nurses and doctors, our schools need teachers and our divisions need healing

"EU citizens are our friends, family and neighbours - yet the government is pushing through an immigration policy that will subject them to the hostile environment and prevent many from working here

MPs must vote it down and give the public a say over our future."  Citizens rights were one of the first elements to be discussed as part of the Brexit withdrawal agreements

But it was not until a year after the referendum before the prime minister said EU citizens in the UK would definitely be able to achieve settled status by applying for leave to remain

Initially EU citizens were told they would have to pay a £65 fee to stay in Britain post-Brexit

But after a public outcry and warnings that the Prime Minister could face another Windrush, the government scrapped the fee

"Settled status" would give EU citizens the same access to healthcare and education after Britain leaves the EU as they have now

Man Utd news: Pundit reveals what Jose Mourinho was thinking during Chelsea FA Cup win - Duration: 2:53.

The Portuguese boss was sacked by Manchester United in December following a dreadful start to the season in which he lost the backing of board and supporters

Since his departure he's had to sit back and watch Ole Gunnar Solskjaer rejuvenate his old players, which can't be easy

They've lost just once since he took over, in last week's Champions League last 16 first leg against Paris Saint-Germain

Chelsea, who Mourinho has previously managed twice were beaten 2-0 by United in the FA Cup to heap further misery on Maurizio Sarri

Pundit Lee Dixon has revealed how Mourinho would be feeling if he was watching the game

"I think it will be hurting him, it's his team and he failed to motivate them," he told the Football Daily Podcast

"There was obviously a down in tools scenario going on. "Now they look different players, that spirit that Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] has come and brought in, that will carry them through towards the end of the season

"You expect them to get fourth now, you'd expect them to go and get to the FA Cup final

"Can they overturn the PSG result? Everything is going well for them, the fans are fully behind everything he's doing

" The Norwegian is adored by his former supporters after successfully implementing a fearless style of attacking football, a complete contrast to life under Mourinho

John O'Shea believes that's why his former team mate is getting the best from the squad

"They want to attack, they want to play positive football and go to their strengths," he said

"That's been so apparent in the last few months, that's what's got them the great run of results

"They have come unstuck against PSG but plenty of teams have come unstuck against PSG

"They've got that quality, [Kylian] Mbappe is the star man. "The next few months United are now going into it with renewed energy and it's great to see again

Hundreds of hammerhead sharks swimming above photographer in incredible footage - News Live - Duration: 1:34.

Hundreds of hammerhead sharks have been filmed up close in this incredible footage captured by a marine biologist

Dr Simon Pierce travelled to one of the world's most remote scuba diving locations and used special equipment to not disturb the shy animals

The 39-year-old said it had been one of the most amazing days of his life when he snapped the rare clips

The footage was shot using a remote camera at Darwin Island in the far north of the Galapagos Islands

Simon, from New Plymouth in New Zealand, said: "Seeing the hammerheads was one of the most amazing days of my life

"I became a marine biologist to have the opportunity to see some amazing places and animals as a part of my work, and photography is a great way to share them with people

"  Simon said this footage is rare due to the sharks being shy and they are a globally endangered species

He said: "This video was captured in an area where no shark fishing is allowed

"This is what a healthy marine protected area can look like.  "People often ask me how I stay positive when there are so many marine conservation challenges out there

"Sites like this show all of us what can be achieved when we work together to protect our ocean wilderness
