Hello everyone and welcome one more day to my channel
today's video is a little different
than usual
I'm going to show you how I made rosehip oil
if you do not want you do not have to see
the whole process and you can advance the video
where I start directly to make the page
that you are seeing right now on the screen
you should go to minute 4
I hope you enjoy this video as much as I have enjoyed
as much as I have enjoyed
making the page and the oil
the first thing that we are going to need to realize this oil
is pick up these little fruits called rose hips
this plant is super invasive
and at least where I live is everywhere
in fact we have an area in our piece of ground
that we do not know what to do to end them
I, of course, pricked myself
as it always happens to me with this type of plants
It is very similar to the blackberry and pricks a lot
being a fairly large fruit
n a short time we almost filled the jar
we had to collect
The first thing to do is take the rose hips
and we initially
split them in half
but then we realized
that this took a long time
because there are so many rose hips
so we decided to put them all in a mortar
and crush them. Doing it this way
We believe that the oil of the seeds will come out better
and will be better integrated with the olive oil
As we are crushing them
we are introducing them in the final jar
in which they will be all the time of maceration
we use the best possible oil
but as long as it is extra virgin
the amount of oil that we are going to use
will be the amount needed to cover the fruits
and seeds that we have crushed
in my case
practically the whole bottle,
this is almost a liter of oil
This mixture should be left to rest
for at least 40 days, in a cool
and dark place
I set a mobile alarm
so I did not forget, so the moment has come
I opened the closet and there was my jar waiting for me
The oil looked
thicker and darker
and when I opened it the smell it gave me was like
fermentation but not a bad smell
It is a little stronger smell
but the truth is that it smells very good
and now we have to extract a quantity
that we will use in the next
weeks or months
and I with the rest what I have done is
I saved it again in the dark closet
because logically the longer it is
all the ingredients together
the properties
of this oil
will be greater
I really do not know how many properties the
rose hips has given to the olive oil
But the true is that the olive oil is
good to apply on the face or hands
But you have to have in mind that this oil can only be used
during the night when we are not going to take the sun because it is photosensitive
I encourage you to carry out projects like this one
that make you go to the country to spend a good time with your family
and especially after all having
things to document in our journals
because our journals are empty
without all these stories
I want to show you some of the botanical books that I have
that refers to this type of rose called
dog rose
n case you have any doubt at the time of recognizing it
but really it is very easy
I used this image that I had cut out of a magazine
that the truth is that it looks a lot like
Now I just have to add some journaling
As for example that I would love to make soap out of this oil
As you can see the simplicity has been maximum
these are other pages I made
the day we picked the rose hips
here I documented how I had to make the oil
photographs of the plant before catching the rose hips a drawing I made
It is not very good but it is my drawing
as well as another photograph that I also made
in the country house with the jar full of rosehips
Well, this was the project that wanted to share
I hope that you liked it if so
please give me a thumbs up
I also would love to read in the comments
What you think about this video format
If your prefer to watch some field videos,
more about the life out of my Junk Journal
Or if you prefer a regular format
Personally, I would love to show you more
As I am always making photos
and videos
It is time to say goodbye,
Thank you so much for watching my videos and see you very soon
