Income inequality isn't typically a big issue at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland

But it was this year, partly because Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) proposed a 70 percent marginal tax rate on income over $10 million shortly before the conference began last month

Though the millionaires and billionaires in attendance didn't take so kindly to the idea, a few historians made a point of explaining that high marginal tax rates were part of what made America so prosperous following World War II

"It feels like I'm at a firefighters' conference and no one's allowed to speak about water, right?" said Dutch historian Rutger Bregman

"Just stop talking about philanthropy and start talking about taxes … We can invite Bono once more, but we've got to be talking about taxes

That's it. Taxes, taxes, taxes. All the rest is bullshit in my opinion."    Bregman's comments got the attention of Tucker Carlson, who has recently taken up the issue of tax evasion, particularly as it pertains to corporations like Amazon and Netflix

He decided to invite Bregman on Tucker Carlson Tonight to talk about it. It didn't go well

The interview, which never aired, ended with the Fox News host lashing out at Bregman, who, as it turned out, wasn't a huge fan of Carlson or his show

Footage of the confrontation made its way onto the Internet on Wednesday, and quickly went viral

Watch Fox News host Tucker Carlson call one of his guests a 'tiny brain…moron' during an interview

NowThis has obtained the full segment with historian Rutger Bregman that Fox News is refusing to air

pic.twitter.com/kERYPUaGLY  — NowThis (@nowthisnews) February 20, 2019    Though the interview began pleasantly, it soon became clear that Bregman intended to press Carlson on the network's reluctance to discuss the idea of taxing the rich

"The explanation is quite simple," Bregman said. "Most of the people at Davos, and also here on this channel, have been bought by the billionaire class

You're not meant to say these things."  Carlson didn't seem to process that he was being called out, and the two continued to discuss how the top marginal tax rate in America was as high as 90 percent in the middle of the 20th century

They also spoke about the need to address the issue of tax avoidance. When Carlson wondered whether high taxes on the rich would be as effective now as they were in the '50s and '60s, Bregman explained that they would

As he sees it, the issue is one of corruption and people being bribed into shifting focus away from the issues like income inequality

"What the Murdochs basically want you to do is to scapegoat immigrants instead of talking about tax avoidance," Bregman said

"I'm glad you're now finally raising the issue, but that's what's been happening for the past couple of years

"   Related Michael Cohen Will Reportedly 'Pull the Curtain Back' on Trump's Crimes Don't Let the Jussie Smollett Hoax Fool You: Hate Crimes Are on the Rise  Carlson's demeanor changed immediately

"Uh huh," he said. "I'm taking orders from the Murdochs, is that what you're saying?"    Bregman continued to turn the screws

"You've been part of the Cato Institute, right? You've been a senior fellow there for years? You've been taking their dirty money

They're funded by Koch billionaires."  "You're a millionaire funded by billionaires, that's what you are" he added

"I'm glad you've jumped [on] the bandwagon of people like Bernie Sanders and AOC, but you're not part of the solution, Mr

Carlson. You're part of the problem." Carlson began to short-circuit and eventually snapped

"I want to say to you, why don't you go fuck yourself, you tiny brain," he yelled

"I hope this gets picked up because you're a moron. I tried to give you a hearing but you're too fucking annoying

"  "You can't handle the criticism," replied Bregman, laughing.  Like Bregman's comments in Davos last month, the footage of his interview with Carlson video quickly went viral, prompting Carlson to explain himself Wednesday night

Carlson claimed that the segment never aired not because he had a meltdown after Bregman dismantled him, but because that meltdown happened to include a profanity

"I called him a moron," said Carlson, "and then I modified that word with a vulgar Anglo-Saxon term that is also intelligible in Dutch

In my defense, I would say that it entirely accurate, but you're not allowed to use that word on television, so once I said it out loud there was no airing the segment

"  Carlson's excuse isn't very convincing considering he told Bregman the interview probably wasn't going to air prior to telling him to go vulgar-Anglo-Saxon-term himself

Here's why we didn't air that segment last week. https://t.co/cQHlfEQZT1  — Tucker Carlson (@TuckerCarlson) February 21, 2019    Outside of the profanity, the only part of the interview Carlson addressed on Wednesday was Bregman's implication that Carlson is being told what to say

"He claimed that my corporate masters tell me what to say on this show, and that was too much," Carlson said

"Whatever my faults or those of this channel, nobody in management has ever told us what positions to take on this show

Never. Not one time. We have total freedom here."  This may very well be true, but as Bregman noted on Twitter well before Carlson's show aired Wednesday night, if Carlson's positions didn't align with the agenda of his overlords, he wouldn't be on the air

"I stand behind what I said, but there's one thing I should have done better," Bregman wrote

"When Carlson asked me how he's being influenced by Big Business and tax-avoiding billionaires, I should have quoted Noam Chomsky

Years ago, when he was asked a similar question, Chomsky replied: 'I'm sure you believe everything you're saying

But what I'm saying is that if you believe something different, you wouldn't be sitting where you're sitting

'" 3/ Years ago, when he was asked a similar question, Chomsky replied: 'I'm sure you believe everything you're saying

But what I'm saying is that if you believe something different, you wouldn't be sitting where you're sitting

'  — Rutger Bregman (@rcbregman) February 20, 2019    Though Carlson teased it three times on Twitter, his segment addressing the interview with Bregman didn't even take up two minutes of his show Wednesday night

He apparently needed to save time for a bizarre rant about Sen. Elizabeth Warren's plan to provide free child care for families earning $50,000 or less

Carlson not only alleged that the plan is part of a plot to "justify more immigration," he seemed to bash the general idea of day care, which millions of American rely on so they can work to provide for their families

"Raising your own kids, Elizabeth Warren is telling us, is a job Americans just won't do

"   Tucker Carlson says government sponsored daycare is a nefarious Democratic plot to increase immigration pic

twitter.com/BE3R5Qcur2  — Andrew Lawrence (@ndrew_lawrence) February 21, 2019    This is, of course, is the exact kind of segment Bregman criticized Carlson for running, to which Carlson could only wonder how Bregman, being in Europe, could have any idea what kind of content airs on Fox News

Never mind that, though. It was the simple fact that Carlson slipped up and use a profanity that prevented him from running the interview with the Dutch historian

Liverpool news: Real Madrid will make Jurgen Klopp a manager target if two things happen - Duration: 2:44.

Liverpool boss Klopp saw his side beaten by Real Madrid in last year's Champions League final, with Gareth Bale scoring twice to gift Los Blancos the prize

However, the Reds have bounced back from their European defeat by taking the Premier League by storm

Liverpool currently only trail Manchester City on goal difference and, given their formidable attacking arsenal, are dreaming of Champions League glory too

However, Spanish outlet Ok Diario claim any European triumph may come with a catch

It is claimed that, should Klopp do well this season, Real Madrid will add him to their managerial wishlist

Los Blancos are not expected to keep Santiago Solari. Solari was given the job earlier this season after Real Madrid chose to sack Julen Lopetegui after just three months

However, with the La Liga title primed to evade them, Los Blancos are eying another manager

Ok Diario say Wednesday's Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid has damaged Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri's chances of taking over

But, if Klopp wins the league title or guides Liverpool onto the latter stages of the Champions League, he will become a target

Real already have an interest in Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine was wanted to replace Zinedine Zidane last summer but, ultimately, decided to stay in north London

Meanwhile, Real currently sit nine points behind Barcelona at the La Liga summit

But Solari feels they can yet win the title despite the deficit.  "Absolutely not," he said when asked if their defeat to Girona on Saturday had ruled them out of the running to lift Spain's biggest title

"We will continue fighting on the three fronts that are open. "This week there are games for our rivals in Europe and they have difficult games, all against sides like Girona that have shown to be very serious

"We have to keep going and get back to winning."

✅ Breaking News - Sarri warns Chelsea have to sell a winger for Hudson-Odoi to play more - Duration: 3:58.

Maurizio Sarri says Chelsea would have to sell one of their established wingers in order to satisfy Callum Hudson-Odoi's desire for immediate first-team action

Teenage prospect Hudson-Odoi has grown restless at Stamford Bridge and handed in a January transfer request amid offers from German champions Bayern Munich

The 18-year-old, who has yet to start a Premier League match, seized a rare opportunity by scoring the Blues' final goal in Thursday's 3-0 Europa League victory over Swedish club Malmo, wrapping up a 5-1 aggregate success

Share this article Share But manager Sarri called for patience, explaining that he would need to allow Pedro, Willian or Eden Hazard to depart to accommodate Hudson-Odoi now

'You need to understand that, in the same position, we have Pedro, Willian and Hazard,' said Sarri

'I want to remind you that Callum, with this one (against Malmo), played 14 matches

'There isn't in England another 18-year-old player with 14 matches in the first team

So I think that we are using him in the right way at the moment.'Of course, the 20 matches this season will be 30 matches in the next, and 40 in two years

'If I am at the club and I want Callum to play consistently, I have to sell another winger

Otherwise the manager is in trouble.'Chelsea were unimpressive during a dour opening period against Malmo, before second-half strikes from Olivier Giroud, Ross Barkley and Huson-Odoi prevented further pressure being heaped on Sarri

The Italian has come under increased scrutiny in west London having dropped to sixth in the league and with some Blues fans joining in with chants for him to be sacked during Monday's FA Cup loss to Manchester United

He has little time to enjoy progression to the last 16 in Europe as his team are set to contest Sunday's Carabao Cup final with Manchester City attempting to avenge a 6-0 humiliation at the Etihad Stadium a fortnight ago

Asked what will happen if his players repeat the opening half an hour of the Malmo performance against Pep Guardiola's champions, Sarri replied: 'A disaster, of course

'We are in a difficult moment. We had problems with the fans in the last match at home, so it's normal for the team to enter on to the pitch without confidence

'Of course, to play our football we need confidence if we want to be in control of the match

'There were also some jeers when Sarri introduced midfielder Jorginho as a second-half substitute on Thursday

The Italy international, signed in the summer from Sarri's former club Napoli, is regarded by many as embodying his manager's 'Sarri-ball' philosophy, a game-plan which has recently failed to produce results and critics feel is one-dimensional

'I think in the first 30 minutes (against Malmo) we understood why Jorginho is very important for our team

We were in trouble to exit from our half, on pressing,' he said.'I hope that our fans will be able to understand that Jorginho, for us, is really a very important player

Man Utd news: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer warned AGAINST Liverpool tactic: 'They will LOVE that' - Duration: 3:41.

That's by Sky Sports pundit Danny Higginbotham, who thinks going straight for Liverpool's throats would play into their hands

United welcome their bitter rivals to Old Trafford in a mouthwatering clash in which the Red Devils will hope to put a serious dent in the Merseyside outfit's Premier League title ambitions

The Reds can move three points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table this weekend with a win in what is their game in hand over the defending champions, who will play in the Carabao Cup final later on Sunday against Chelsea

With 11 games to go, Liverpool are right in the hunt for the title they have gone without since 1990 - but United will pose arguably the sternest test they will face between now and May 12

Under Solskjaer, United have been back to their best and have won 11 of 13 matches across all competitions while utilising a far bolder and braver attacking brand of football than used by the Norwegian coach's predecessor, Jose Mourinho

Mourinho was sacked after United were comfortably beaten 3-1 by Liverpool at Anfield in December

It is expected that Solskjaer's side will put Liverpool under the cosh far more than they did on that evening, but Higginbotham - who came through United's academy as a player - has advised the club legend to be cautious in his approach

"They actually go into this game where they can actually sit back a little bit. The onus is 100 per-cent on Liverpool," Higginbotham told The Debate on Sky Sports

Asked if they will do that, the ex-Stoke defender added: "I think so because if you go toe-to-toe with Liverpool then you open yourself up

"To do that, in my opinion, they are one of the best counter-attacking teams in Europe

"They will love that. United, what they do now, they can sit off.  "When they went to Liverpool, it was really bad

Everyone talked about the possession but against Chelsea in the FA Cup they had less possession than they did at Liverpool

"It's just that they're moving up the pitch better together so nobody was isolated

"I think they're in a position to be able to do that. "The game against Chelsea, it was less possession than they ever had under Mourinho

"The units were moving forwards and backwards together, if the defence dropped back, Marcus Rashford dropped back

"In my opinion I believe Liverpool have to win this game. I don't think they can draw

"I think United will think to themselves, 'Liverpool have got to come out and attack us, can we make them really vulnerable? Can we set traps for them and make them their most vulnerable when they're attacking themselves?'"

Royal news : Meghan Markle dressed for comfort for her flight back to London - Duration: 2:27.

Following a lavish baby shower hosted by A-list friends Amal Clooney and Serena Williams, Meghan Markle departed her NYC hotel on Wednesday evening and headed straight for the airport

Championing the athleisure trend, the pregnant duchess wore a sporty black ensemble made up of stretchy Lululemon leggings, £88 and zip-up by maternity brand Ingrid & Isabel, £67

Her choice of footwear, UltraBoost running shoes by Adidas, was also gym-appropriate

Offsetting the active wear aesthetic, the duchess managed to put a chic spin on the outfit by layering a tailored camel coat on top, which is currently a must-have item on the fashion week street style scene

Although the outfit was simple, Meghan's accessories were loaded with personal touches

Meghan covered her face with a black baseball cap adorned with the word Rectify

The cap was in reference to Meghan's former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer's TV show which ran from 2013-2016

We're pretty sure Meghan borrowed the accessory from her pal, as Abigail arrived at the baby shower a few hours earlier wearing it

See, even duchesses borrow their friends' clothes.   Around Meghan's neck sat a gold necklace that spelt out the word 'mommy'

The $850 (£650) 18-karat gold design is by American jewellery designer Jennifer Meyer and, by the looks of things, is one of Meghan's favourite baby shower presents

Comfort and style - did Meghan just ace airport style? We think so.

Royal news : The secret meaning behind that Beyoncé Meghan Markle portrait - Duration: 3:47.

The hottest luxury and A List news Meghan Markle has had a busy week. First, her A-list baby shower at The Mark became New York's worst-kept secret, then America's Queen B paid homage to her in front of millions at the BRITs

Beyonce's video acceptance speech for Best International Group, which saw her and husband Jay-Z pose in front of a painting of Markle, confirms she's a fan of the Duchess

But the meaning behind the portrait Beyonce used is also interesting. It turns out the image wasn't created exclusively for the Brits

It was, in fact, originally the cover image of Markle's sorority magazine. While at Northwestern, Markle was a member of the sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma, where her sisters still sing her praises

Many Kappas even flew to the UK last May to serenade her in the royal wedding crowds with their sorority's wedding chant

Fashion journalist (and unofficial royal commentator) Elizabeth Holmes pointed out the artistic origin of the picture on her Instagram account So Many Thoughts, where she documents the Royal Family's most noteworthy moments in her stories

The pre-recorded video of Beyonce and Jay-Z was reminiscent of their recent "APES**T" music video, where they stand in front of the Mona Lisa

They replaced the shot of the Mona Lisa with a regal one of Markle, which was originally created for Kappa Kappa Gamma's summer 2018 alumni magazine by Brooklyn-based illustrator Tim O'Brien

Shortly after the image went viral on Instagram, O'Brien's prints began selling rapidly, priced at $100 a portrait

He captioned his own Instagram photo of the BRITs moment with "So this happened today

" Fittingly, he's also created portraits of a royal Beyoncé. O'Brien confirmed to Vanity Fair that he was first commissioned to create the portrait for KKG and didn't know Beyoncé had decided to use it

Hidden within the portrait are several shout outs to the sorority's heritage, including the fleur-de-lis hidden in her crown, the sapphires she's wearing around her neck, and the owl pendant on her arm - all nods to Kappa's mascots and motifs

Their most noteworthy Greek chant is "the owl, the key, the fleur-de-lis."  Beyoncé continued paying homage to Markle on Instagram, writing "Thank you to the Brits for the award for Best International Group

I won this award back in 2002 with my besties, Kelly and Michelle. How lucky am I to have been in a group with my other best friend, the GOAT Hova

🙌🏾 In honor of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas. Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy

" Now, that's the collaboration America and England need. Beyoncé for godmother?

Royal news : Meghan Markle flies home by private jet after New York baby shower - Duration: 3:33.

The Duchess of Sussex flew home from New York today in a private jet after enjoying a baby shower with her closest friends

Meghan, 37, boarded a Gulfstream G450 twin-jet plane, with a one-way trip costing around £95,000, and headed back to the UK

The duchess, who is expecting her first child in the spring, will be up in the air again this weekend when she joins husband Prince Harry on an official visit to Morocco

Meghan arrived in New York on Friday night for a supposedly "secret" trip to visit her friends

The main event was an intimate baby shower hosted by Amal Clooney and Serena Williams

After the soiree, which was attended by her close friends Gayle King and Jessica Mulroney, Meghan went to the airport last night

It is not known if Mrs Clooney, the lawyer wife of Hollywood actor George, was with the duchess on the return flight

The duchess was accompanied by two personal protection officers during the visit

They were assisted by US State Department officers during the five-night visit.  Meghan's baby shower was held in a £57,000-a-night penthouse suite at the exclusive hotel The Mark on the Upper East Side

She also enjoyed a meal with friends at Ralph Lauren's luxury restaurant The Polo Bar, in what is believed to be her visit to New York since her wedding to Prince Harry last May

Kensington Palace confirmed that Meghan's trip had been privately funded as it was a personal getaway

The Gulfstream G450 used by the duchess has a 16-passenger capacity.     According to Haute Living, it is also considered to have the most advanced flight decks in business aviation, with 14-inch liquid crystal display screens arranged in a landscape format and an Enhanced Vision System to present pilots with a clear picture of runway markings, taxiways and the surrounding landscape at night or in deteriorating weather conditions - like the snow and ice in New York on Wednesday

It also boasts a shower, a three-person divan, and a full galley with a convection oven should any of the passengers require an in-flight meal

And there will have been plenty of room for the many gifts seen being delivered to Meghan's hotel ahead of the shower

A £95 mandarin tree, a £289 travel crib and a children's bicycle believed to be worth around £460 were among the items seen being brought into The Mark in the hours leading up to the celebration

Royal news : What Kate Middleton and Prince William HIDE about their relationship REVEALED - Duration: 2:11.

Behavioural Psychologist Ms Hemmings said on the Royal Box Kate and William have more "fun" than might be obvious to observers

She said: "It's a very respectful relationship. There's a lot of fun in it, but we don't always see the fun

" Ms Hemmings added that Kate already comes off like a Queen whilst married to the second-in-line to the throne

She pointed out that the Cambridges are not very tactile in public, but seem to look at each other in a loving way

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry however have a "passionate" and "intimate relationship"

The dating expert said she believes both couples have fun. She said: "Often Kate is teasing him, he takes it on the chin

"She's adapted to that regal pre-Queen role already. "They're not particularly tactile, but there's that look

"They just seem genuinely happy together." Ms Hemmings was discussing the Cambridges' relationship with Royal commentator Victoria Arbiter, historian Kate Williams and Royal Box presenter Kate Thornton

She told the other women how Prince William enjoyed more privacy in his romantic life than his brother, because he met his future wife at university and there was a media ban on the boys during their education

She said: "They met at university and they had all that time when they were in their late teens

"I think they are extraordinarily well-suited."

Royal news : Meghan's sister brands her 'narcissist' after letter to dad published - Duration: 3:14.

Meghan Markle's half-sister Samantha has branded her a "narcissist" after an emotional letter from the Duchess of Sussex to her estranged father was published

Meghan begged Thomas Markle to "stop lying" and accused him of fabricating stories in the press and attacking Prince Harry in the letter published by the Mail on Sunday

She also hit out at the "manufactured" lies by Mr Markle's "other daughter" Samantha, who the duchess said she "barely" knows

"On a daily basis you fixated and clicked on the lies they were writing about me, especially those manufactured by your other daughter, who I barely know," she wrote

The duchess hit out at her father for siding with Samantha while she "silently suffered at the hand of her vicious lies"

Samantha hit out at Meghan on Twitter within hours, replying to one tweet: "Some narcissits (sic) were 'only children', others… wish they were

"  She also suggested Meghan might care about her if she had more money. "If I had 600 mil she would care," she wrote

In her handwritten five-page letter, which friends said Meghan wrote to her father in August last year, the duchess addressed her father as "Daddy" and said her heart was broken "into a million pieces" after he failed to attend her wedding

She wrote that Mr Markle had caused her "unwarranted pain" and never tried to get in contact with her despite offering help when he suffered two heart attacks and pulled out of attending the wedding

Mr Markle, a former Hollywood lighting director who now lives in Mexico, has repeatedly told news outlets he has been shunned by his daughter and her husband

"  She added: "If you love me, as you tell the press you do, please stop.  "Please allow us to live our lives in peace

"  In his response to his daughter, Mr Markle denied publicly attacking the royals and signed off by asking if she and Harry would pose with him for a photo
