 The touching moment took place outside a community centre in the city as Kate chatted to well-wishers

She and husband William were in Dundee to officially open the new V&A. The couple, officially known as the Earl and Countess of Strathearn when in Scotland, were met by V&A Dundee director Philip Long, who gave them a tour of the £80million museum

 They also spoke to Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, who talked them through the inspiration for his award-winning design, and met young people who help design activities at the museum

 At the end of the tour, the duchess, royal patron of V&A, gave a speech and declared the museum officially open

 Kate, dressed in an Alexander McQueen Black Watch tartan coat she was first seen wearing in 2012, said: "I have been amazed by the breathtaking architecture and the sheer range of design on display

 "Most of all, I've been moved by the passion of the people who work here and the dedication of all those who have helped make this important project succeed

" Later, Kate and William showed their support for workers at the Michelin tyre plant in Dundee, which is due to cease production in mid-2020 with the loss of 845 jobs

 The couple attended a meeting of the Michelin Action Group, which is aiming to find a new use for the plant and a sustainable future for its workforce

 Michelin has made a deal with Scottish ministers to convert the factory so it has a possible future in low-carbon transport and manufacturing

 William said at the meeting: "The factory has been a huge part of Dundee's very fabric

It has been a key employer for generations and has helped sustain the local economy for nearly 50 years

 "For everyone affected, the hope is that all of you sat in this room can find a positive way forward

 "As I have just heard, when a community faces uncertainty, people feel more optimistic when leaders such as yourselves work together for that community

 "Because of the collaborative approach adopted by the people in this room, I am optimistic that a good outcome is possible with the site at Michelin

 He was responsible for bringing the N'Zonzi to the Italian capital, when they both left Sevilla for Roma and it is rumoured the same could happen again if Monchi comes to London

 N'Zonzi has been a backbone to the Roma midfield, having played 20 Serie A games this season, while chipping in with one goal and two assists

 After making slow start to adapting to the Italian game, he was able to establish himself into the side after an injury to Daniele De Rossi

 The 30-year-old central midfielder has been linked with a return to the Premier League, having already proved he can cut it in England's top division after spells with Blackburn and Stoke

 Arsenal are expected to face competition from Tottenham for N'Zonzi's signature, but if Monchi is brought into the club, it could give the Gunners an edge in any potential head-to-head battle

 Despite Roma only signing N'Zonzi last summer, the Italian side might be tempted to recoup some of the £25million they spent on a player who is now on the other side of 30

 Monchi would be expected to make any deal more likely, but he is not the only candidate for the technical director's position at Arsenal The former Spanish goalkeeper is also competing against ex-Gunners legend Marc Overmars for the jobs
