Arsenal transfer news: Major update on PSG and Gunners negotiations for Christopher Nkunku - Duration: 1:57.

The Gunners want to bring the talented French youth in before the window shuts at 11pm tonight.

And crucially, the player is keen to move to the Emirates too where he would be reunited with Unai Emery.

The manager knows him well from his time in charge at the Parc des Princes.

Having confirmed the loan signing of winger Denis Suarez from Barcelona, Nkunku is now getting Arsenal's full attention.

There is no hope over Yannick Carrasco or Ivan Perisic any more, but the PSG ace could still sign in time.

However, there are issues between Arsenal and the Ligue 1 champions.

Once again frustratingly for Gunners supporters, there are financial problems to overcome.

According to journalist and French football expert Matt Spiro, Arsenal and PSG are worlds apart on their valuation for a buy option.

The Gunners have made it clear they will not pay for any permanent signings this month or commit to an obligation to buy in the summer.

But they managed to agree an option for Suarez worth around £20m.

Arsenal have proposed a deal to PSG since which would see them take Nkunku on loan with the option to buy for £17.4m.

The French club, though, want significantly more, and it remains to be seen if a compromise will be reached.

The Gunners have little time left to close what would seem to be a large divide in valuations.

Spiro adds Nkunku is still hoping to seal a loan to Arsenal today.

However, Arsenal fans may have to settle for landing just Suarez in the January window as they look to strengthen their chances of a top-four finish.

Chelsea's 4-0 drubbing at Bournemouth pushed Emery's team up into fourth spot last night, while they are still in the Europa League too.

Liverpool transfer news: Sky Sports reporter delivers update on chances of any late deals - Duration: 3:03.

That's according to Sky Sports reporter Vinny O'Connor who says he doesn't expect any more business to be rubber stamped at Anfield

Sturridge has been a peripheral figure on Merseyside this season. But following Dominic Solanke's transfer to Bournemouth earlier this month, Klopp is seemingly wary of weakening his squad further

"Jurgen Klopp has just left for the day!" O'Connor told Sky Sports. "Daniel Sturridge is out of contract in the summer but that is going to wait until the next window

"The big business was done early by Liverpool in terms of tying down players to long-term contracts - Robertson and Alexander-Arnold

"We thought there might be outgoings but no real movement on that. "Klopp said it would have to be an unbelievable opportunity for him to do something else - but that's not looking likely

" The Reds could only manage a 1-1 draw with Leicester last night. They remain five points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table

Klopp snapped up Fabinho, Naby Keita, Alisson and Xherdan Shaqiri in the summer. Former Premier League star Andy Cole says Liverpool will remain active in the transfer market regardless of who wins the title

Cole told Sky Sports: "They'll go again in the summer, Liverpool will, because it doesn't matter if you win the league because you've still got to try and better yourself

"You've got to try and bring in players better than what you already have to strengthen for the next season because if Manchester City win the league or Liverpool win the league, guarantee one of them is going to turn around and say, 'We need to add players because we lost the league or this and that

' "That's how competition gets better and that's how those players become better players

"They will go again, they definitely will go again." Yesterday's match against Leicester was played in snowy conditions

Klopp said the pitch caused his side problems. "You saw that the ball didn't roll really," he explained

"If you then have the ball pretty much for 70 to 80 per cent of the time it makes life really uncomfortable

"The only problem is if it stays on the pitch and that was actually the case."

Everton transfer news: Silva makes decision on Gueye's future amid PSG links - Duration: 1:53.

The French champions are chasing midfield reinforcements this month with several injury problems and contractual issues leaving them short in the middle of the park.

PSG saw a bid of £21.5m rejected for the Senegal international after weeks of sniffing around him.

And the Toffees are highly reluctant to let one of their key players leave midway through the season.

Now, having seen their attempts to sign Gueye rebuffed, PSG are ready to move on, according to ESPN.

The report states that Everton boss Marco Silva is the main reason the 29-year-old will not be moving to France.

The Portuguese is not thought to have given his approval for the player to be sold and has blocked any potential move.

Gueye is understood to be keen on a move to the French capital though, and is currently in France seeking the transfer, say ESPN.

Silva gave an update after Tuesday's 1-0 win over Huddersfield after he left Gueye out of the team.

"He had a minor problem with his groin. We tried to be honest with all of you and with our fans," Silva said.

"After the match I tried to find out if something new has happened because I expected your question and there's nothing new.

"He has a minor problem with his groin.

"No new offers and hopefully he can continue with us. I don't know about a new offer or not. Nobody has told me.

"We were in the hotel last night preparing for the game, fully focused on the match.

"I know the market is open until January 31, it's always tough for us, but about the new offer, £30million, nothing came true.

"I asked 10 minutes ago if there was something new, but there is not."
