And our question for you today is: Which wrestler do you think will quit WWE next?
Let me know in the comments down below, because I'll be replying to people FROM OUTTA NOWHERE.
Because, at the time of recording, at least six WWE stars have reportedly asked for their
release.
By the time your watching this, they'll probably only have five people left on the
roster.
And Dolph Ziggler will still likely be one of them - just leave, man.
Dean Ambrose Release Confirmed Following news that Scott Dawson and Dash
Wilder of The Revival and Mike and Maria Kanellis asked for their releases - although Maria
denies the latter - Pro Wrestling Torch broke yesterday that Dean Ambrose told management
he wouldn't be renewing his contract when it expires in April.
This was reportedly because he'd "been long frustrated with the creative direction
of his character and reached a breaking point recently" - which is thought to be because
of the hokey way his character has been portrayed.
PWInsider has since added a few details, reporting Dean "was offered a new, five year contract
worth a little over seven figures per year, but turned the deal down."
As he doesn't live an expensive lifestyle outside of the company, and "has made great
money over his WWE run" he appears to be in a similar position to CM Punk where money
isn't so much of an issue and he can "do what he wants".
WrestleVotes claim it wasn't just a new million dollar contract Ambrose turned down,
as he was apparently meant to be involved in a "big" story heading into WrestleMania,
but those plans were dropped over Royal Rumble weekend when he said he'd be leaving the
company.
And WWE have now confirmed the story themselves, taking the unprecedented step of announcing
Ambrose is not renewing his deal on their website:
"Dean Ambrose (Jonathan Good) will not be renewing his contract with WWE when it expires
in April.
We are grateful and appreciative of all that Dean has given to WWE and our fans.
We wish him well and hope that one day Dean will return to WWE."
Did Ambrose just future endeavor Vince McMahon?
And he's not the only one.
Hideo Itami Asks For WWE Release As both Fightful and PWInsider are reporting
205 Live star Hideo Itami has also asked for his release!
Unlike The Revival and the Kannelisi, however, it appears WWE have approved Itami's request,
and he finished up with the promotion losing to Akira Tozawa on last night's 205 Live.
He will now enter a 90 day no compete clause, so don't expect to see him show up anywhere
soon.
Fightful claim he asked for his release because he was "unsatisfied creatively", which
is pretty much the same reasons reported for Ambrose, The Kannelisi and The Revival.
Further confirming the news, Itami has changed his Twitter handle to 'KENTA' - the name
he used before joining WWE - and has tweeted the simple message THANK YOU late Tuesday
night, to which a number of WWE stars seemingly wished him goodbye to in reply.
Itami asking for his release because he's unhappy with his place in WWE is an immensely
brave decision, and he deserves credit for standing up for his creative vision...
WrestleLeague Punishment Results ...but it's nowhere near as brave as me
and Luke covering a wrestler's entrance theme this weekend.
Because we came joint last in our Fantasy Prediction WrestleLeague at Royal Rumble,
our Patreons have fittingly voted for us to cover Mike and Maria Kannelis' entrance
music The Greatest Love I've Ever Known.
Expect air guitar.
