Waching daily Jan 30 2019

Justin Bieber is just the latest celeb-turned-fashion designer.

After teasing fans with items like smiley face hotel slippers, the singer's new

Drew House clothing line is officially for sale.

Named after the Biebs himself (his middle name is Drew), the predominantly

camel-colored line is full of comfy, casual pieces for everyday wear

and features unisex t-shirts, sweatshirts and pants, with either that signature

smiley face or just "Drew" written on them. To be honest,

the line is pretty basic, but decently priced, with items ranging from $48 to $148.

And according to the Drew House site,

all of the pieces are ethically made in limited quantities in LA.

While it just dropped this week, Bieber trademarked the name for the company

last February, and get this, the line's Instagram page, @drewhouse,

already has over 150 thousand followers.

Anyways, the best part about the line has to be its simple, but effective mission

statement: "drew house is a place where you can be yourself blah blah blah…

wear like you don't care. come chill. k. bye."

I can dig it. For more on Bieber's new line head to Billboard.com.

Until next time, for Billboard News, I'm Jordyn Rolling.

Arsenal transfer news: Ivan Perisic deal would be good, but only on ONE condition - pundit - Duration: 1:48.

That is the view of ESPN FC pundit and former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley, who says that a loan deal would be best for the club.

Croatia international Perisic has been linked with a move to the Emirates before the transfer deadline.

Indeed, the winger reportedly handed in a transfer request and was an unused substitute in the loss at Torino on Sunday.

Inter are said to only want to negotiate and permanent deal for the 29-year-old right now and, according to Burley, his age is why Arsenal should be careful.

Some reports state Inter would be willing to let Perisic go on loan as long as there is an obligation for Arsenal to buy him in the summer.

"I can see Perisic being a loan," he said.

"I was talking to an old colleague of mine about it back in the UK.

"He was saying 'well, they should go and buy Perisic'.

"Next month he's going to be 30, that's not old, but we're talking about no sell-on value here.

"So we're plugging a hole for maybe a year or two, he's not had a great season at Inter.

"So I think if Arsenal can do a loan, I'm going to say yeah, as a loan signing.

"I can't see them going out and splashing big money."

Perisic has scored just four goals in 25 appearances for Inter this season.

He can play on either wings and has been at Inter since joining from Wolfsburg in 2015.

Perisic scored the equalising goal for Croatia when they beat England 2-1 in the World Cup semi-final last summer.

He also found the net in the final before his side went down 4-2 against France.

US NEWS | El Chapo defense calls one witness and rests after prosecutions 11 week case NY Daily Ne - Duration: 0:53.

US NEWS | El Chapo defense calls one witness and rests after prosecutions 11 week case NY Daily Ne

After 56 prosecution witnesses over 11 weeks, the defense in the El Chapo trial presented its case Tuesday — for a mere 30 minutes.

Testimony in the long awaited trial of Joaquin Guzman ended with a legal letdown as his lawyers summoned just a single witness before resting their case in the high profile prosecution.

The defense presentation ran as long as the typical TV sitcom, minus the laugh track, and followed the prosecutions bombshell allegations of big money bribes and brutal murders.

Fireworks could follow during closing arguments, with prosecutors addressing the jurors Wednesday and chief El Chapo lawyer Jeffrey Lichtman following a day later.

Lichtman is expected to focus his summation on a man who never set foot in the courtroom: Most wanted drug dealer Isamel El Mayo Zambada Garcia.

In his November opening statement, Litchman insisted that El Mayo was the real drug kingpin and his client was the victim of a conspiracy.

"The world is focusing on this mythical El Chapo creature," said Lichtman. The world is not focusing on Mayo Zambada.

Brooklyn Federal Court Judge Brian Cogan warned Lichtman on Tuesday to steer clear in his summation of allegations that the Mexican government colluded with the 71 year old Zambada to pin a target on El Chapo.

Theres nothing suggesting that, said Cogan. Off limits.

The defense rolled out its blink and you missed it defense case by calling FBI Agent John Roberts — and no one else — to take the witness stand. As promised, Guzman sat behind the defense table rather than testify under oath in his own defense.

Prosecutors, in contrast, questioned nearly five dozen witnesses, including 13 former compatriots of El Chapo who switched sides to testify against the accused Sinaloa Cartel mastermind.

Guzman faces life in prison if convicted on the top charges in the 11 count indictment. Even an acquittal is a no win: El Chapo still faces charges in Illinois, Texas, California and New Hampshire.

Lichtman queried G man Roberts about inconsistent statements allegedly made by Colombian narco Jorge Cifuentes in 2017. The defense lawyer, with his one witness, tried to undermine prosecution witness Cifuentes credibility and boost the conspiracy defense.

The attorney asked about testimony given last month by Cifuentes regarding information that he supposedly received on a USB stick from a Colombian Navy officer.

In his notes, agent Roberts allegedly misstated that the USB stick, containing sensitive information on the Sinaloa Cartel, was provided to Cifuentes by a U.S. Navy officer.

Lichtmans attempt at highlighting the agents sloppy note taking was met with a half dozen objections from federal prosecutors, who sought to block questioning intended to elicit criticism of the U.S. government from the FBI agent.

El Chapos legal team also entered a stipulation into evidence that the cocaine kingpins right hand man, Alex Cifuentes, flip flopped on the witness stand about Guzmans finances — initially claiming in government debriefings that the drug kingpin was dollar 20 million in debt in 2007 and 2013.

Alex Cifuentes, younger brother of Jorge, would not confirm during his testimony whether that number was accurate.

With that, the defense rests, Lichtman told the court.

Jurors were sent home after the brief morning session, with the lawyers and trial judge meeting to discuss legal matters.

US NEWS | Opinion The Medicare for All trap The New York Times - Duration: 3:21.

US NEWS | Opinion The Medicare for All trap The New York Times

Most issues will strongly favor the Democrats in 2020. Taking away peoples health insurance is an exception.

Opinion Columnist

This article is part of David Leonhardts newsletter. You can to receive it each weekday.

A couple of weeks ago, one of the countrys most respected health care pollsters — Kaiser Family Foundation — conducted a survey on Medicare for All. And looked great for advocates of the idea, like Bernie Sanders and Kamala Harris.

Some 56 percent of respondents said they favored a national plan called Medicare for All in which all Americans would get their insurance through a single government plan. A large majority of Democrats backed the idea. Almost a quarter of Republicans did, too.

The polls details, however, were a lot of less positive about Medicare for All. In fact, they showed why single payer health care may turn out to be one of the few problematic issues for Democrats heading into 2020 — if the party isnt careful. Harris has this week, saying on Monday night that she supported the most aggressive version of Medicare for All before , via aides, late yesterday.

When Kaiser pollsters were putting together their survey, they understood that not all Americans thought of Medicare for All as meaning the same thing. So the poll asked people whether they believed that they would be allowed to keep their private insurance plan under such a system. Almost 60 percent of respondents said yes. In reality, , in an analysis of the poll, the whole point of Medicare for All would be to wipe away current insurance arrangements and replace them with a new public plan.

Not only that, but when the pollsters described a version of Medicare for All in which private insurance was wiped away, support plummeted. The idea flipped from being popular to unpopular: 37 percent of respondents favored it, and 58 percent opposed it.

This same hostility to change helped sink Bill and Hillary Clintons health care plan in the 1990s. It also became the mainline of Republican attack against Barack Obamas health care law — and one reason that law remained unpopular until President Trump started attacking it . Many Americans are happy with their current insurance, polls show. Even among those who arent, many worry about being forced into a new plan. Loss aversion is a hell of a drug, notes , a University of Michigan political scientist.

I understand the arguments in favor of mandatory Medicare for All. It could reduce bureaucratic waste and insurance company profit skimming. It could help the United States lower its world leading medical costs. And Im thrilled to see presidential candidates willing to offer .

But I think this particular plan is an unforced error. It comes with huge political vulnerabilities — and a less problematic, but still bold, alternative exists: that allows people to buy in voluntarily. That plan could also be called Medicare for All. And if it proved to be as popular as Democrats expect, advocating for the mandatory version would become much easier. Until then, as Nyhan says, the mandatory approach splits Ds and unites Rs. Thats the opposite of smart politics.

The next Democratic president will need to prioritize among several big issues. Id much prefer a winnable health care fight that also leaves room for action on climate, taxes, civil rights and other issues to an all consuming uphill battle.

Elsewhere …

Watch Harris explain her position during . CNNs Jake Tapper said to her: I believe it will totally eliminate private insurance. So for people out there who like their insurance, they dont get to keep it? Harriss answer: Well, listen, the idea is that everyone gets access to medical care. And you dont have to go through the process of going through an insurance company, having them give you approval, going through the paperwork, all of the delay that may require. ... Lets eliminate all of that. Lets move on. On Tuesday, her aides said she was .

of The Washington Examiner tweeted: Gallup poll finds that 70 percent of those with private insurance rate their coverage as excellent or good; 85 percent say the same about the actual health care that they receive.

Democrats ... will have to navigate a tricky gap between what voters think of when they hear Medicare for All, and what politicians mean when they say it, of BuzzFeed News wrote, in a reported piece from Nebraska last year. Pressed on the details of Medicare for All, many voters in Omaha expressed skepticism — or outright distaste — about the single payer plan that Sanders has championed.

In Jacobin, recently offered a more favorable view of mandatory Medicare, arguing that the transition wouldnt be as disruptive as some Americans fear. It will certainly face complications, but the Medicare bureaucracy will be able to sort these out as they come, he wrote.

of Vox have analyzed the various versions of Medicare for All, as well as other Democratic health care plans.

Elizabeth Warren, Kirsten Gillibrand and Julian Castro — three other presidential candidates — also support the Sanders version of Medicare for All that Harris backs. But they have generally not been as clear about ending private insurance as Harris was on Monday. When Gillibrand was asked about that part of the plan on a recent episode of , she sidestepped the question.

My view is that the best answer is a version of: Im for Medicare for All. If you want Medicare, you can have it, regardless of your age. If youd rather keep your private plan, you can do that, too. This approach will give us universal coverage, lower costs and consumer choice. Oh, and Im in favor of tax increases on the wealthy and corporations to help pay for it. Theyre right now.

Man City News - Official: Denis Suarez to Arsenal loan transfer confirmed by Barcelona - Duration: 1:46.

Barcelona have confirmed that midfielder Denis Suarez has completed a loan transfer to Arsenal for the rest of the season

In a statement on their official site, the Catalan giants have also announced that the Spain international has signed a new contract at the Nou Camp until 30 June 2021

MORE: The two clubs Denis Suarez snubbed in order to seal Arsenal transfer It remains to be seen if Suarez really has any future at Barcelona or if this new contract extension is merely a way to ensure he doesn't end up leaving on a free transfer or for a reduced fee any time soon

Suarez looks an exciting addition in a key role for Arsenal, who lack enough quality in midfield, with the 25-year-old able to provide an upgrade in a variety or roles

The former Manchester City youngster, who also played under current Gunners boss Unai Emery at Sevilla earlier in his career, looks an ideal potential replacement for Aaron Ramsey – nearing the end of his contract – in an attacking role in the centre, or a potential upgrade on the likes of Henrikh Mkhitaryan out wide

Arsenal themselves are yet to officially announce Suarez, but one imagines some news from the north Londoners will surely be on its way soon

US NEWS | Trump set to return to Super Bowl stage with pregame CBS interview Daily Mail Online

will return for what has become a customary presidential address ahead of LIII on Sunday, after opting out last year.

The president will sit down with CBS News anchor Margaret Brennan in an interview to be taped on Friday.

It will be the first time in two years Trump has participated in the traditional presidential pre game interview, after turning down NBCs request in 2018, following his criticism of the network, the home of The Apprentice, and the NFL over its reaction to players protests.

In 2017, he appeared on his favorite network, Fox News, with disgraced host Bill OReilly just two months before OReilly was fired over multiple sexual harassment claims.

While Trump generally avoids interviews with mainstream media, aside from Fox, the platform may suddenly seem more appealing, as Trump struggles with falling approval rates and the perception that he failed in the battle of wills with the Democrats over the border wall during shutdown negotiations.

President Donald Trump will left return to CBS for what has become a customary presidential address ahead of Super Bowl LIII on Sunday, after opting out last year when NBC broadcast the big game. This year, Trump will sit down with CBS News anchor Margaret Brennan right in an interview to be taped on Friday

The shutdown resulted from Trump, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer remaining at odds over Trumps requested dollar 5.7 billion to fund a border wall.

The stalemate delayed the passing of a spending bill that was required to reopen government.

The controversy will likely come up in Trumps interview on Sunday, as the spending bill that has been passed will only keep things going through February 15. If another agreement cant be reached, the government will shut down again.

Trumps criticism of the NFLs kneeling protests are also likely to be raised at the pre game interview.

In an August tweet about the protests, spearheaded by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and his then teammate, Eric Reid, he argued players who chose to kneel during the national anthem in protest of police brutality and racial injustice should be suspended without pay.

.....Be happy, be cool! A football game, that fans are paying soooo much money to watch and enjoy, is no place to protest, Trump tweeted on August 10.

Most of that money goes to the players anyway. Find another way to protest. Stand proudly for your National Anthem or be Suspended Without Pay!

The NFL kneeling protests were spearheaded by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and his then teammate, Eric Reid, who now plays for the Carolina Panthers. Part of Trumps talk with Brennan will air during Brennans regular Face the Nation broadcast on Sunday morning.

The remainder of the interview will be broadcast during CBSs pregame coverage.

That portion is expected to air at around 3.30pm Eastern.

The tradition of a Super Bowl interview was started by former President George W Bush, and picked up by former President , who participated all eight years he was in office.

Kickoff between the Los Angeles Rams and the New England Patriots is scheduled for 6.30pm Eastern at Mercedes Benz stadium in Atlanta.

George Ws father, former President George HW Bush, was the first president to appear in person for a Super Bowl coin toss in New Orleans in 2002, according to .

US NEWS | Trump interview will air during CBS coverage of Super Bowl LIII cleveland.com

CLEVELAND, Ohio Donald Trump will continue the tradition of a president appearing on TV on Super Bowl Sunday.

Trump will sit down with Face the Nation moderator Margaret Brennan for a taped interview later this week. The interview will air in two parts, first on Face the Nation, Sunday at 10:30 a.m. on WOIO Channel 19, and then during CBS pre game coverage at approximately 3:30 p.m.

It will be the presidents first television interview since the end of the government shutdown and indictment of his longtime associate Roger Stone. Since taking office, Trump has rarely granted interviews to networks other than Fox News. Last year, he declined NBCs invitation for a Super Bowl interview, a tradition that began with George W. Bush in 2004, continuing through all of Barack Obamas term and Trump in 2017 when Fox aired the big game.

This is the first time Trump will appear on Face the Nation in almost two years and the first time with Brennan, who replaced John Dickerson as moderator a year ago.

Coverage of Super Bowl LIII between the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams begins Sunday at 6 p.m. on WOIO.
