Waching daily Jan 30 2019

Hello, I'm Regina Stein from Ateliê MariaRê. And in this class, we'll learn how to make a

crochet's stitch called block stitch.

The block stitch can be done in a single thread color or with more colors.

In our example, we'll use the Bella thread in three colors, purple number 1407,

white and pink number 377.

We'll also use a 2.5mm-long crochet needle, you can make your stitch

with the thread you prefer. This is a stitch that needs chains

in a number multiple of three, plus two, so our sample will have 24 chains plus two,

26 in total, and we'll work for 12 rows.

We'll start by making 26 chains with the purple thread,

we'll leave the first chain a little bit looser.

And we'll complete 26 chains.

Now, let's start making a single crochet on the second chain from the needle,

so, one, two. Here,

let's make a single crochet. Then, we'll make two chains,

let's skip two chains of the base, insert the needle in the third one and make a single crochet.

And we'll repeat this until the end, then, two chains,

let's skip two chains of the base and make a single crochet on the third chain.

Two chains,

we've skipped two, a single crochet on the third one.

Let's keep going on like this until the end of the chains.

We've reached the end, let's count two, insert the needle in the third one,

make the single crochet. Now, we'll pick this initial thread up and pull to adjust it,

leave the base here pretty smooth, without that initial kinkle.

So, we've finished the first row, now let's make the second one.

We'll make two chains and we'll turn our work around.

On the next chains, we'll make a double crochet.

Now, inside this chains' space here, we'll make three double crochets.

We've formed the first block, that's why the stitch has this name.

We'll make three more double crochets in the next chains' space, the second block.

Three double crochets in the next space.

Let's keep going on like this until the end of this row,

always making three double crochets inside each one of these chains' space.

We've made the last block of double crochets, let's finish the row

by making a double crochet here in the end.

Now we'll cut this thread and do the color change, let's use the white thread

to make the next row. Let's lie this thread here in our work and pull it,

with that, we've made a chain, let's turn our work around

and, here, in this first space, we'll make a single crochet.

We can adjust the thread.

Now we'll make two chains,

let's skip all these double crochets here and here, in this space between them,

we'll make a single crochet.

Once more, two chains,

a single crochet.

Two chains

and a single crochet. Let's keep going on like this until the end of this row.

We've reached the end here, we'll make a single crochet,

let's cut our thread and let's, once more, change color. Now let's work with the pink thread.

Let's lean the pink thread here in the beginning and pass it through the handle.

We've made, then, the first chain, let's make two more.

Let's turn our work around

and let's make a double crochet here at the chains' beginning.

Now, inside this chains' space here, we'll make three double crochets.

It'll be our first block.

Three double crochets in the next space.

One more block of three double crochets in the next space.

Let's keep going on like this until the end of this row.

We've reached the end, let's finish the row by making a double crochet here in the end.

Let's cut this thread and do the color change again, let's use the white thread once more.

Let's lean the white thread on the end of the work and pull the thread, and we've a chain.

Now we'll turn our work around

and here, at the first space, we'll make a single crochet.

Then, we'll make two chains

and here, between the blocks, a single crochet.

Again, two chains

and a single crochet between the blocks.

Two chains, a single crochet between the blocks.

Let's keep going on like this until the end of the row.

We've reached the end, let's finish our row up by making a single crochet here

on the initial chains of the last row.

Now we can cut this thread.

We'll keep going on by alternating the colors and the rows

until the desired size for our work,

so the next row here in the sequence will be of blocks in purple. The next row

in single crochets and white chains, the next one in pink blocks and so on.

In our sample, we'll complete 12 rows.

We've reached the end of the 12 rows of our sample, the thread has already been cut,

we'll tie it up by passing the thread through the handle.

Now we'll hide all these threads leftovers

with the aid of a needle, by passing behind the stitches.

Let's turn our work inside out

and let's hide the thread underneath some stitches.

We'll do the same thing with all these threads.

Let's hide it one by one behind the stitches.

Our sample is done.

Face to Face: Alejandro Valverde x Imanol Erviti - Duration: 6:28.

Well, what can I say about you, Imanol?

We've always shared rooms, we've always been together.

He's a very stupid boy, but...

... but I stand him because he's my friend.

We spend more time together during the season than with our wives.

And the good thing is that we joined the team at the very same year, 2005.

It's been a lot of years together and...

... every time we're at the same race we're always together.

+ We get on well with each other. - Really well, yup.

Good and bad days, of course, but you start to remember and realize we've really enjoyed our sport.

We've endured many bad days, of course, but to be honest, we've gone through many other good things.

I remember how you laughed at me last year at the Volta a Catalunya.

Don't even tell - what a day.

F**k, we did really have cold weather that day - especially me.

You had put in good clothes, I didn't.

I never saw you like that. I asked you: 'Is it cold, Imanol?' And you said: 'F**king hell, it really is.'

I couldn't keep my jaw from chattering.

And on the other hand, in my case, I've really learnt much from you.

From me? Nah. Haven't I really learnt much more from you?

One really learns a lot with you. To start, something I really laughed at you about was: eating oats.

"What are you doing? That's food for horses, for birds!"

+ And now he never stops eating oats. - All the time.

And your orderly ways of doing things, which is something I'd like to be like you at.

You get to a race and you plan on all the essential things.

I go to a race calm because I know he'll have everything sorted out and he always comes back to me...

.. people ask me: 'Why haven't you set this up?' 'Well, I only have to ask Imanol! He surely knows it.'

Nah, but it's a work together. You also have many more things to respond to. Those things, I'd like to know how you cope with them.

That's the way you build a team. Someone does a couple of things for you, then you bring to the table what you can help with.

It's just adding up to get a better result.

And then, how did you see how we did last season? Come on, let's analyze on 2018. I want to have a different perspective.

Mah, it's been a season where we had really much everything.

Many moments of joy. Having you back at such an impressive level was a boost of motivation for all the team.

Everybody appreciates you and, damn, before you got to Mallorca and showed us all...

... you were back to what you were - it was a relief. Just after that, an amazing start to the season, with lots of victories.

That makes the whole team ride calm, makes you more dynamic, it's a wonderful feeling for everybody.

And on top of that, the icing - the world title. That was...

One race that I would have liked to have you with me.

And you insisted a lot. 'Come on, Imanol, you can do it.' But I didn't have anything left in the tank.

I was sad not to be with you there, but I couldn't be happier about what happened. It was a moment to remember.

And the good thing is, we're going to enjoy it together this season.

You won't be stealing jerseys from my laundry bag this year! We always mix them up.

It's been a beautiful year, I'm agree with you on all of that. We got off to a very solid start, the whole group.

Then, the Tour - it might be that we always want to do so well that we put so much pressure on our own shoulders.

Putting that stress on ourselves might have done bad on us.

We don't perform as we'd like to, but it's also the most demanding race, the one with the best field.

In order to have things go well there, you need to have good condition, good luck and many other factors, this, that, the other one.

How your rivals respond, how you do tactics-wise, etcetera.

It's not easy, and as soon as one factor collides with your goal, you start to tumble.

That's sport. In the end...

... you want to do things one way, do as much as he can and it doesn't turn out well.

Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn.

It's also true that last year, on the first 10 days, we did better than almost any other edition. We got through all danger really well.

I think we rode as we had to. But it comes down to the energy of every team's main leaders, making the right moves, finding each other's weak points.

At the Tour, as in every other race, the one who's stronger and makes the right moves tends to always win.

What would you like to race this season? That's the question.

Let's do some early planning, which could go forward or not.

Murcia, Almería...

... then I'd go to Abu Dhabi / Dubai - which are the same race together this season, six or seven days - ...

... I'd come back and do the Volta a Catalunya ...

+ ... then País Vasco ... - No. I'd do the Ronde van Vlaanderen.

+ Will you? - Yup. So, Flanders, Amstel, Flèche, Liège, Giro...

... Tour de Pologne, Vuelta a España, and the Worlds. And Lombardy.

+ Wow! So, Giro, after the Giro... - Poland. After some rest.

Planning to race Giro and Vuelta gives you room to make two distinct efforts, peaks during the season.

You've really got a lot of time to recover between the two blocks.

So, what would you like to do?

I imagine I'll have to start early, because there's so many races for our leaders in the early season.

My ideal start would be Andalucía, Paris-Nice, Catalunya. But I've got to be where leaders like you are.

Adding up to the team and do the work I'm supposed to do.

And on top of that, we've caught up with each other! Because we're not at the same room during the training camp, and with this, you do this, I do that...!

Terror/Escritura - MISERY de Stephen King (ESP audio | ENG/ESP subs) - Duration: 11:11.

Who are you?

Hi! I'm your number one fan.

I've come to pitch you a great business idea. Hey, I have these super-cool ideas

in my head, but you're the writer. Why don't you write a book with

my ideas? I give you my ideas, we meet for a coffee, I tell you my idea,

you write the novel and then we share the royalties 50/50.

(Yeah, sure) You're a writer, dude, you'd love to hear about my life, my life has

been a compendium of tragedies and betrayals by those I loved the most.

(You cut my phone's cable, right?) You could write a book about my life

and then we could go to the signings together. (Sure, yeah) Okay, this feels weird,

you're agreeing with me too fast. Are you treating me

like I'm crazy? (It's just that there's something very convincing about you, I don't know,

like the axe in your hands) Hey, did I tell you that the Virgin showed herself before me

at the Maina ditch? You could put that in your book, dude, it would be a sales hit

at the church. I could go and call my friends

and family, and they would buy your book, dude, and it would be a golden opportunity for you.

Hi people! I'm back. I could finish some projects.

There are still a few to do, but I have time to make videos again. Today

I bring a classic, and also one of my favorite books. Today's novel is

MISERY by Stephen King. You've probably heard of it, since it's one of

Stephen King's most famous books. This man is also known as the King of Horror.

I'm not exactly a superfan of his. I think that most of his novels

have like 300 pages of filling, but he has really good books. Among my

all-time favorites are two of his novels: CARRIE

and MISERY. You can find the video I made about CARRIE in my channel, and today

we'll talk about the other, in my opinion, amazing book by Stephen King:

MISERY. Stephen King wrote it in 1987 and, of course, it

became a best-seller. What's it about?

There's this renowned writer named Paul Sheldon.

He's known for his romance series protagonized by a girl named Misery.

Misery is basically a romantic saga with

huge doses of melodrama. It makes you puke sugar, and the writer hates it with a passion.

The thing is, since this is Paul's biggest source of income and the editors can never get enough

of it, Paul must keep producing more and more and more issues of Misery.

"Oh, Misery fell in love with this new Lord, oh, Misery is now

pregnant but she may not survive the birth, oh"

Anyway, he loathes the series. He'd like to write more "adult" stuff, contemporary,

deep, insightful stories... what he feels it's his true

calling. So, in the latest installment of the series (which

just came out in stores) Paul kills his protagonist, Misery.

With Misery dead, he'll no longer have to write more of these

goddamned books he hates so much. He's free of his strings,

he can write whatever he wants. The series

are over and, to celebrate, he's finished another book completely unrelated

to Misery and, as he always does, he drives off

to a secluded place, accompanied by his just-finished novel

in the copilot seat, ready to withdraw from society

for a while. While he's driving through the road, there's

this terrible blizzard, he can't see anything, the car skids and falls down a small cliff.

The guy almost dies, but then, through the blizzard comes

this huge woman who, in a display of strength, drags him away

from the vehicle and takes him to her secluded cottage in the woods.

His rescuer is Annie Wilkes, a former nurse.

And, turns out, she's his number one fan.

Here begins the great tragedy of MISERY: we have the famous writer,

Paul Sheldon, completely out of the radar, untraceable by any of his

acquaintances, bed-ridden in Annie's house, his two legs broken and

feeling like shit. He can hardly move. His car fell down a cliff,

you can imagine his state. So Annie, this stocky woman

shaped like a bull, appears at the foot of his bed

and says "Oh, you woke up! I'm so happy, I can't believe

I was out in the snow and found you. You were lucky I was

there and could save your life. Look, I put braces on your legs and bandaged them,

and I also have medicines to heal you. I'll take care of you until you're fine."

And she adds "I'm a huge fan of your books, I read them all, I love Misery

so much, she's the light of my life. Look, I even have..."

And the lady has this huge pig pet in the house

named Misery, holy canoli. So Paul Sheldon is like

"Well, this woman seems a bit intense, but

the poor thing saved my life and is pampering me, she offered me her bed,

she's bringing me every medicine I need... Okay, it's all good, I'll

just laugh at her jokes and, when I recover, we'll bid our farewells and part our separate ways."

Well, Paul, if I didn't know who's written your story, maybe; but this is

Stephen King and things aren't going to go as nicely

as you were thinking. This revelation may shock you, but

it turns out that Annie Wilkes is batshit crazy, okay?

She's a mentally unstable woman who swings between moods

just like a weathercock; so when she, all happy after giving

the writer his medicines, drives off to the nearest library

and purchases the latest issue of Misery, she's ecstatic...

until she reads the ending when Misery dies, and she goes

completely apeshit.

She goes off on him. "Have you lost your mind?!" Towering over him like

"You killed Misery, this can't be happening, my life has no meaning anymore!"

Just imagine what it's like, to be utterly dependent, at the mercy

of a person who's wibbily-wobbly in the mind department. You'll see, Annie Wilkes

is that kind of fan who thinks that she know

the writer and his work deeply... Actually, they know it even better

than the writer himself! So, when she cools off from her freak-out,

Annie Wilkes enters the bedroom again and says "I just bought you

a typewriter" and places the thing on a small table

near the bed, and adds "Let's do this: let's

pretend that this novel never happened. I want you to write

the next issue of Misery." And the dude is laying on the bed like "Jesus F. Christ,

woman, you're crazy, how can I write another Misery novel

if I killed the protagonist. She's dead, the series are over."

And Annie "Nope, nope. You're bringing Misery back to life. This will be the novel in which

Misery resuscitates." During the whole book we're inside Paul Sheldon's mind,

learning about his life and his creative process.

We'll read how he tries to imagine a new novel under extreme circumstances.

If you're a writer, I strongly recommend this books, because

it's not only a horror book, a story about insane people,

a story of claustrophobia and racing against the ticking clock. It's also a novel

about creation. Paul Sheldon will have to

write a great novel full of

well-rounded characters, while staying true to the tradition and style of

all the previous books in the series. Because at the foot

of his bed awaits his Number One Fan, the most intense

fan he could ever imagine, and this fan knows him and his work

too deeply to content herself with anything that's not perfect

and completely honest.

He'll start writing this story, and some parts wont' be good, he'll have

to rewrite them, he'll have to use his own pain-fueled delirium, his own situation,

and channel it all into the new novel, thus creating a masterpiece, the next

great installment of Misery. This novel, like many other

works by Stephen King, had a movie adaptation. Unlike a few

of these adaptations of this author, this one was really good, lead

by two top-notch actors. This is the movie that earned

Kathy Bates an Oscar. I love that actress. She played as Annie Wilkes

and she was utterly terrifying and imposing. And there goes today's video.

I hope you enjoyed it. See you next time! Thank you so much for watching me

once more. Bye-bye! :D (I've suffered so much and that's why,

that's why you have to write my biography and sell it and sign it, and the two of us will

become famous, because I deserve it, because I've suffered so much in my life,

people always leave me and nobody understands how good I am, Jesus, I don't understand

why people don't love me, but you're a writer, you're sensitive, right?

You will love me.
