 Pogba is on holiday in the United States and reports have emerged that he held a meeting with Barcelona official Abidal

 The get together - as reportedly by Italian newspaper Tuttosport - supposedly happened in a private villa in Beverly Hills

 And bookmakers Paddy Power have swiftly acted on the revelation. They have slashed Pogba's price of joining Barcelona from 16/1 to 9/2 after a number of high-stake bets

 Pogba won the World Cup with France this summer and is not expected to report back to United training until later this month

 His relationship with manager Jose Mourinho has fractured over the past 12 months following a mixed campaign in the Premier League

 However, the likelihood of Pogba being sold to Barcelona before August 9 - the Premier League transfer deadline - appears remote

 United can sell outside of that deadline, with Spain's transfer window stretching until August 31 this year

 But selling a star player without the ability to sign a replacement would be foolhardy of United's account

 So unless they have a man lined up, any deal with Barcelona would likely be delayed

 Spokesman Paddy Power said: "The man with the greatest initials in world sport could be in line for another jaw-dropping transfer, judging by the betting activity we're seeing

 "His return to United was much feted, but it's been more Pog-doom-and-gloom than Pog-boom

Martial fined Manchester United are set to push Anthony Martial closer to the exit by fining him for his pre-season absence

 Martial jetted back to France midway through the tour for the birth of his second child

 The forward, who earns £90,000 a week, will be hit in the pocket with a two-week fine having not returned for the final two games of the tour

 The sensational move from United will likely push Martial closer to the exit with Jose Mourinho keen to sell him for £70m

 United do not believe Martial – who wants to quit the Reds – has trained for the past eight days since leaving the tour

 Mourinho wants to offload Martial, after coming to the conclusion the 22-year-old forward is simply not mentally strong enough to play under him

 But United are struggling to sign a replacement for Martial before the Premier League transfer window closes on August 9, with Inter Milan and Croatia star Ivan Perisic having emerged as Mourinho's top target

Courtois decision Thibaut Courtois has told the Blues he wants to join Real Madrid before next week's transfer deadline, reports say

 Chelsea star Courtois is on Real Madrid's list of transfer targets with his future shrouded in uncertainty

 The Belgium international's contract expires next summer and, despite Chelsea's attempts to tie him down to an extension, a parting of the ways could be on the cards

 And the Sun say Chelsea have been told by Courtois that he wants to join Real NOW - or he will leave for nothing in 12 months time

 The Belgium star is keen to return to Spain to be closer to his family, who are located in Madrid

Arsenal Dembele approach Arsenal transfer chief Sven Mislintat has reportedly been in contact with Barcelona over a deal for Ousmane Dembele

 Arsenal have been linked with Dembele with the player reportedly keen to leave Barcelona in the wake of their signing of Malcom

 The Catalan giants signed the Brazilian from Bordeaux last week, fending off Roma to secure his signature

 And Football London say Barcelona have been contacted about Dembele by Arsenal chief Mislintat

 Mislintat oversees ongoings at the Emirates Stadium and has already splashed cash on the likes of Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi

 A winger, however, is wanted by Unai Emery as he targets a shot at the Premier League title

Michy Batshuayi has endured a rocky start to his Chelsea career but the road ahead could be much smoother

Since joining from Marseille two years ago, the Belgian striker has started just four Premier League matches

Batshuayi was lent to Borussia Dortmund for the second half of last season and had been lined up by Valencia for another loan stint, but new Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri reportedly has other plans

According to the Evening Standard, Sarri wants to block Valencia's loan move for Batshuayi as he is keen for the 24-year-old to become a key part of his first-team squad

Batshuayi has yet to return to Chelsea this summer after spending much of June and July away with Belgium at the World Cup

Upon his return he is expected to demand assurances that he will be involved much more than he was during former manager Antonio Conte's reign at Stamford Bridge

He scored 19 goals in all competitions for Conte, but found himself behind Diego Costa and then Alvaro Morata in the Italian's plans

Chelsea were interested in signing Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli this summer, but missed out when AC Milan won the battle for his signature

As a result, Chelsea are likely to keep Morata to compete with Batshuayi for a starting spot up front, leaving Olivier Giroud as third choice

Marseille have Giroud on their radar and Sarri could be tempted to let him leave, either on loan or permanently if the price is right
