Video that left a song in my head for an entire hour

I`m going that way

Maybe I can get away from the rain.

At least for now.

I`m going to work anyway, I`ll be on the bike all night.

Sooner or later, the rain will catch me

He used to work in the motorbike garage, fixing

And he knows how it`s like

He appreciates a lot when he sees videos like that

Because know the time and effort you have to put in

Just to fix, not to edit the videos too

He asked where did I learned how to fix

I told him how, shortly

But I thought it will be nice to tell you all

How I learned to fix bikes

Firstly

I wanted to clarify this

I`m not a mechanic nor a painter

I have no professional qualification in any of these

But I was lucky enough

To gain some knowledge in the mechanic field

Since a very young age

I was just a kid

Who loved fixing

My father was an electrician

He was fixing a lot of tv`s and other electrical stuff

And I used to love watching his repairs

It was something fascinating

To fix something that is broken, instead of throwing it away

You couldn`t really afford back then to throw things away

Everyone was going for a repair, not a re-buy

But for me it was interesting that you could fix something broken

Instead of throwing and buy a new one.

He got me interested in that. He used to bring watches for me to fix, small things

And of course, encouraged by my mum

I started slowly slowly to fix things

And I start tasting that satisfaction feeling after you fixed something that is broken

That was all I needed. Every toy that I had and it broke, I used to fix it

The small things(walkmans, radios) he used to give to me to fix

And I got the taste of it. And when I was about 8 years old, 8 and a bit

My parents had a friend

Who had a garage back then

Not a professional garage where you fix you car

It was his garage where he used to fix cars as a hobby.

And the guy that used to help him, left, somewhere, out of the country I think

I still remember now, he used to have a VW Golf 1 to fix

That was the first car I worked at

So he was visiting us on day

And I was playing with my toys like any 8 year old does

And knowing I like fixing stuff

He asked my parents if

Damn it, it`s raining here.

So, yea. He asked if they mind letting me at his garage on weekend(and summer vacation)

To go and learn mechanics and play there with cars

And they said yes, if I want to.

And of course, when you ask a boy

I mean, I don`t know now, because times have changed

But if you ask any 8 year kid if he wants to go in a garage and play with real cars and learn mechanic

I don`t thing anyone would have said no

And obviously I said yes.

And went there, start working at that Golf

And I`m gonna get so wet

We worked on that VW and then on Dacia.

Those were very used back then

And I started from 0. With basic tools, spanners, sockets

Then start handing him tools

Something like a helper there

So he started to teach me about the engine, how it works, what parts are inside

Part names that I obviously forgot

In 20 years

And when I started with bikes

In U.K, start reading and learning again, I`ve learned the names in english

That`s why, sometimes I`m having difficulties

In some videos

I`m struggling to name some of the parts in romanian.

My hands are soaked

And I feel it going down my chest

So cold!

Is there any point stopping?

I`ll stop to put my leg bag in my backpack (wallet inside)
