Emery took over as Arsenal boss earlier this summer following the departure of legendary manager Arsene Wenger

Emery had a £70million budget but has spent that by bringing in Matteo Guendouzi, Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Lucas Torreira

French midfielder Nzonzi is still a target though it's believed that it would require a £25m fee to prise him away from Sevilla

Nzonzi and Emery have worked together before with the pair winning the Europa League while both at Sevilla

And the Daily Mail report that Aaron Ramsey could be the one that makes way and creates funds for Arsenal to push on in their pursuit of the 29-year-old

Ramsey is out of contract at Arsenal next summer with talks reportedly stuttering over a new deal

Having lost Jack Wilshere on a free this summer, the Gunners are believed to be reluctant to see Ramsey do the same

But with Nzonzi are high-priority signing, it could leave Emery with little option but to cash in on Ramsey

And Sky Sports pundit Dean Ashton believes Arsenal should do their best to keep hold of the 27-year-old

"Aaron Ramsey's stats from last season are impressive," former West Ham striker Ashton told Sky Sports

"He got one more assist and three more goals than Mesut Ozil. He goes under the radar

"Arsenal would be surprised how much they'd miss him - he influences games and it's strange they haven't signed up on a new deal
