because it answered many questions I had

in my inner search.

It wasn't really an objective I had proposed to achieve,

like saying: 'I want to make a living out of this,

'I want to become a professional'.

It's a matter of sacrifice, of spending time, dedication.

It doesn't work like you break your back for a whole year

and you get rewarded with a sponsorship. It's not like that.

Forget it. It's a matter of time and patience.

Of willing and dreaming.

I think I always learn from my own failures.

If it's not the hard way, I don't get it.

I've been living by my own for more than 6 years.

There are times in which you don't eat because there's no money,

but that's how warfare works.

Many doctors told me that I wasn't going to be able to practice wakeboard anymore

because it was very aggressive for my back.

I was young, so I wouldn't accept

that an injury would leave me out of the game so easily.

So the summit is like the cherry on the dessert.

But what really matters is what you live in the process.

That's what makes you grow like a person.

Skateboarding changes lives.

It has changed many lives in the same way it has changed mine.

And it can change many more lives.

Even when we come from different cultures and countries,

we share something so profound,

that we're very similar.
