Our headlines, Britain has formally

notified the European Union and its

decision to leave, nine months after the

Brexit referendum. The Prime Minister Theresa

May describes it as a historic moment

from which there could be no turning

back, she said she would seek a new

special partnership with the EU and

propose an ambitious free trade

agreement. The President European

Council, Donald Tusk said the British

decision made the remaining EU members

more determined than United, he said they

would negotiate as one and limit the

damage to EU citizens, businesses and member states

The EU has blocked the proposed merger

of the London stock exchange and

Germany's Deutsche Börse. And the

funeral of the South African

anti-apartheid activist Ahmed Kathrada is

underway in Johannesburg, he died on

Tuesday at the age of 87
