Defender Azpilicueta - who has returned to right-back under Sarri having played the last two seasons as a right-sided centre-back in a back-three - has worn the armband so far this season
The vice-captain has continued to skipper the team having regularly done so under Antonio Conte last season in Gary Cahill's absence, but has not been officially named club captain
Experienced defender Cahill has been omitted from the squad for all three of Chelsea's Premier League matches so far this season - wins over Huddersfield, Arsenal and Newcastle
And that means the 32-year-old is set to be stripped of the honour despite this being his eighth season at Stamford Bridge
Azpilicueta and Hazard are among the favourites to receive the captaincy with the winger performing the role for Belgium, who reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in the summer
The attacker is also viewed as Chelsea's most prized asset with the Blues desperate to avoid losing their star man after another summer of links to Real Madrid
And while it is Azpilicueta who will once again lead the team out against Bournemouth today (3pm), Sarri intends to officially name Chelsea's new captain during the upcoming two-week international break
Ahead of their meeting with the Cherries, Sarri revealed: "Nothing is decided at the moment, I want to decide during the international break for the final one
" The Italian manager also revealed Chelsea's ambitions for the Europa League this season, with the west London club not involved in the Champions League after coming fifth last term
The draw for the group stages was completed yesterday, pitting the Blues against Greece's PAOK, BATE Borisov of Belarus and Hungarian champions Vidi
And with the competition presenting an alternative route of qualification for Europe's premier tournament to the winners, Sarri is targeting success on the continent
"I want to win everything, if I can," he declared. "I want to win everything. "For me, it's a pleasure to play in Europe
It's a pleasure to play in the Europa League. It's one of our targets [to win it]
" Sarri's side are hoping to go into the international break off the back of four consecutive wins having started the season strongly despite adjusting to the new manager's style demands
Chelsea have lost two of their last three home matches against Bournemouth, including their last - a 3-0 reverse back in January under Conte
And Sarri is wary of their threat, adding: "They are a dangerous team. In the defensive phase, they are very organised
"If they have the possibility to have space, they are very dangerous on the counter-attack
"They attack the space very well in the right time, so they are very dangerous. If you don't play very well, with a high level of attention, it's easy to lose games against them
