That is the honest verdict of BT Sport pundit and legendary Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes
Scholes was speaking at half time of the Premier League clash where United trailed 2-0
Manager Jose Mourinho changed his formation for the trip to east London, playing a 3-5-2 with midfielder Scott McTominay as part of a back three
Within five minutes the hosts were ahead though, with Felipe Anderson's smart finish beating David De Gea from close range
Andriy Yarmolenko's deflected shot went in off the unfortunate Victor Lindelof to make it 2-0 to West Ham just before half time
Scholes has not held back on his criticism of his former side since retiring and today was no different
Some Manchester United players and Mourinho have questioned their own attitude in recent weeks
And Scholes says it was evident early on United were not in the right frame of mind for the match
"It's not been great has it," Scholes said. "I think the word we've used and heard from United over the last few weeks has been attitude
"He's not been happy with it, I think even players have mentioned the attitude hasn't been right
"I think the big thing is attitude. "As I said it's been mentioned in the last few weeks and I think going out onto the football pitch today their attitude was completely wrong
"There's nobody getting to the ball, they're letting West Ham control the play really
"When I watched the (West Ham) game last week against Chelsea it was the other way around
"United have just sat off, sat off, sat off, and when they have got in forward areas, the play hasn't been good enough
