And the Sun report that he has started getting himself ready for the job by learning English
Zidane led Real Madrid to three Champions Leagues in a row before standing down this summer to take a break from football
But he's been linked with a swift return to the game with problems surfacing at Old Trafford
Mourinho's future is uncertain after a poor start to the season and a high profile spat with Paul Pogba
United lost two on the bounce to Brighton and Tottenham in their second and third game of the season
They went on a wining run before drawing with Wolves and losing to Derby in the Carabao Cup
They face West Ham today as Mourinho clings to his job. And while Ed Woodward is not keen to sack Mourinho any time soon, Zidane seems to be taking things into his own hands
The Frenchman is keen on returning to the dugout and sees England as his preferred destination
But one of the issues with Zidane coming to England was the language barrier, but he seems to be trying to sort that out
"Soon I will return to training because it is what I like and is what I have done all my life," he said earlier this month
Zidane posted pictures in London this week as he travelled around the city. Mourinho yesterday insisted things with Pogba were good despite video footage of the pair in a disagreement during training on Wednesday
Asked to describe his relationship with Pobga, Mourinho said: "Exactly that, that's exactly that, I think Paul told that i one of his appearances in the 'famous mixed zone' and it is exactly that - he is correct
It's a good relation, between player and manager." Pogba was axed as one of the club's vice captains and dropped for the Derby game but is expected to start against West Ham today
