The midfielder was stunned when Gunners chiefs this week withdrew their offer after months of talks
It means the Welsh internation, 27, is almost certain to leave the Emirates next summer after 11 years
However, Arsenal boss Emery will continue to place his faith in the Gunners' longest-serving player
He said: "I don't think all the speculation will affect his performances and I want him to give all his quality
"A footballer's career is very short, usually for ten, 12 or 15 years. Every player needs to work very hard during these years for his future and the future of his family
"They need to take the opportunity to show their best qualities in every match." Emery last week hinted that summer signing Bernd Leno could be set for more starts after impressing in the Europa League
However, it's expected Petr Cech will retain his place between the sticks for the visit of the Hornets
