LIVERPOOL transfer target Hakim Ziyech looks to be closing in on a move to Roma.
Ziyech emerged as one of the men Jurgen Klopp has eyed up to bolster his squad earlier this
month when a deal for Nabil Fekir broke down.
And his agent, Mustapha Nakhli, was believed to have been on Merseyside as talk of a potential
swoop for the Ajax playmaker grew.
Roma were also known to have a long-standing interest in Ziyech, who's just been playing
for Morocco at the World Cup.
Ajax coach Erik ten Hag has now provided an update on the 25-year-old's future, with
Roma appearing likely to tie up a deal.
"I know he already has another deal elsewhere," said Ten Hag.
"He's a big loss.
"If you love football, you'll love Hakim Ziyech.
Aside from his technical qualities, it's his footballing intelligence that makes him
so strong.
"He's a complete player, but if I have to mention a characteristic in particular, it's
his ability in one-on-ones.
Often you can't get past him.
He has raw power.
Ajax have agreed a deal with Southampton to sign Serbia international Dusan Tadic as Ziyech's
replacement.
And all that remains is for Roma to agree a fee with the Dutch giants, who initially
valued their star man at £40m.
Italian outlet Calcio Mercato indicate Roma chief Monchi, who's waiting to see what
happens to Liverpool target Alisson Becker, is poised to return with an offer of £27m
plus bonuses for Ziyech.
Ajax and Roma have already done business this summer with Justin Kluivert swapping the Amsterdam
Arena for the Stadio Olimpico.
And it seems it will only be a matter of time before Roma snare Ziyech, who's thought
to have agreed a £2.2m-a-year contract with them.
Liverpool face having to go back to the drawing board a they seek to add another dimension
to their attack.

Manchester United have an Adnan Januzaj buy back clause | Transfer News Now #mufc - Duration: 2:16.
Adnan Januzaj settled England vs Belgium in the World Cup a year, after Man Utd sold him
in the transfer window to Real Sociedad.
Adnan Januzaj was selected in Belgium's starting line-up for their final Group G encounter
with England in Kaliningrad on Thursday night, and settled the contest impressively.
The former Manchester United winger cut inside onto his left foot, and whipped the ball past
the culpable keeper Jordan Pickford in the 61st minute for the only goal of the game
to clinch top spot for Belgium.
Januzaj, 23, returned to the Belgium squad after a two-year absence in November, and
his form for Real Sociedad convinced coach Roberto Martinez to select him in his World
Cup 23.
The England match was only Januzaj's ninth cap for The Red Devils.
The United academy graduate, who played at the last World Cup in Belgium's group win
over South Korea, left United last summer for £9.8million after he entered the last
year of his contract.
Januzaj endured an unsuccessful loan at Borussia Dortmund in 2015 which was cut short by the
Bundesliga club, before he reunited with his former United coach David Moyes at Sunderland
the following year.
Sunderland were relegated and Januzaj returned to United.
United manager Jose Mourinho did not play Januzaj in a single competitive game, but
the Belgian has excelled for Sociedad and supporters have wondered whether he was too
hastily discarded.
Januzaj's best position is on the right wing, and United have struggled to fill that void
in recent years.
The club insisted on a buy-back clause in Januzaj's Real Sociedad contract last year,
having done likewise with Memphis Depay, and Sean Goss after they moved to Lyon, and Queens
Park Rangers in the 2017 January transfer window.
