Pogba has failed to live up to expectations since returning to Old Trafford from Juventus in 2016

That brought about rumours that the midfielder would return to Juventus, while PSG were also reportedly interested

Transfer gossip seems to have calmed as Pogba aims to help France win the World Cup for the first time since 1998

But the 2014 World Cup's Best Young Player has again failed to live up to expectations, though France have qualified for the last-16

And Souness has told Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho one way of getting the best out of Pogba next season

"He's 25 and needs help," Souness said. "You can go through his pluses; he's got great athleticism and technique but he doesn't play the game in his head

"A flick and a trick are more important than closing down an opponent to make him play a bad pass and intercept it

"I think why Mourinho gets the hump is because he's got the fast-forward gear going up the pitch and then the jogging gear coming back

That irritates you. "For me, I think he is an impact substitute. You ain't going to bring Paul Pogba onto the pitch if you are 1-0 up and you are looking to hold onto something

"He is not disciplined. If he is a sub you bring him on when you are chasing the game

In two or three years he might develop into a holding midfield player but I am not quite sure what he is at the moment

" Pogba will hope to be part of the France side that plays Argentina in the last 16 of the World Cup on Saturday (3pm)

Russia international Golovin has emerged as one of the breakout stars at this summer's World Cup

And according to Goal, the Blues are closing in on a deal for the 22-year-old. Juventus have also been credited with an interest, but the west London side, the report adds, held positive talks with the player's representatives

Morata to go? Alvaro Morata has decided he wants to leave Chelsea and his agent is negotiating his departure, according to transfer expert David Amoyal

Morata had a turbulent debut campaign at Chelsea, and after a flying start, he netted just once since the start of the year

His underwhelming campaign saw him miss out on a spot in Spain's World Cup squad

And transfer expert Amoyal thinks Morata is determined to seal his exit from Stamford Bridge

He tweeted: "Been personally told that Chelsea set a meeting with Morata's agent for next week to decide what to do next

"The Spanish striker would like to leave for a new club, Chelsea will ask for a 65/70 million transfer fee

Arsenal transfer news: Ivan Gazidis promises more summer signings for Unai Emery - Duration: 2:01.

The Gunners have already strengthened with the additions of Stephan Lichtsteiner and Bernd Leno in recent weeks

While Sokratis Papastathopoulos will be announced as an Arsenal player in the coming days

Fans gathered at a Q&A session earlier this week to hear from Gazidis and Emery about their visions for the club going forward

And Gazidis, who is not known for his public speaking, assured fans in north London that these new stars would not be the only signings this summer

"We have brought in a new head of recruitment in Sven Mislintat and alongside him is Huss Fahmy who has been involved with negotiating a lot of our player contracts and also we have Raul Sanllehi who joins us from Barcelona," he told the fans in attendance, as reported by Football

London. "So we really have a collective effort now, in terms of how we identify players and then how we take forward our interest and of course Unai is a huge part of that as well

"This is now a different way of doing things, one with a very, very accomplished team of professionals who we have spent time bedding into the club

"Unai has been in the thick of that process in terms of what we need in the squad, we've signed two new players so far this summer and there will be more to come

" Arsenal have been heavily linked with a host of players since Emery's arrival. Sampdoria's Lucas Torreira and Sevilla's Ever Banega are two midfielders who may join the Spaniard at the Emirates this summer

Man Utd news: Jose Mourinho delivers verdict on Wayne Rooney's MLS transfer - Duration: 2:24.

Rooney sealed a move to DC United yesterday from Everton, joining on a three-and-a-half-year deal that will officially go through on Tuesday, July 10

The 32-year-old enjoyed a glittering career at Manchester United and is the club's all-time leading scorer with 253 goals

While Rooney's move to the States may have been protracted, Mourinho thinks the MLS will benefit from having the former Toffees star

When asked for his thoughts, he said: "When he made it at Everton, his boyhood club, the world was surprised with that kid and then he went to Manchester United and he had the incredible career he had

"Then in the Premier League again at Everton Football Club, so I think his career in England was perfect

"He decides the MLS [is next] and in MLS, you have always some iconic players that are going to end their career there

"You had [Steven] Gerrard, you had [Frank] Lampard, you had [Patrick] Vieira, you had so many of them

David Beckham played there too. "You now have Zlatan [Ibrahimovic], you now have Wayne

"I just hope he enjoys it and, of course, he'll bring the attention that the MLS needs to attract more people, to steal some people from the other sports that normally the American people are in love with

" After leaving Goodison Park, Rooney sent fans on the blue half of Merseyside a message on Twitter to thank them

He tweeted: "Excited to be starting the next chapter of my career but just want to thank all the Everton fans for their amazing support last season

 "It meant a lot."
