odds of surviving are very good.

We checked in earlier with the

idealogical bent of the capital.

One of the oldest numbers in the

country.

Owned by the Baltimore sun.

This newspaper, we looked at the

editorial board, who is on it,

what topics.

It's very much a local

newspaper.

They cover the capital, the

naval academy and local

elections.

For example, the latest primary,

they endorsed a moderate

Democrat.

So the paper itself very local.

Doesn't seem to have a major

idealogical bent, if that plays

into the motive, we don't know.

As far as the building itself,

when they say the building is

They reported five.

Other people are severely hurt.

We know there were multiple

shootings in the newsroom

itself.

We know this was related to the

capitol gazette.

But we don't know much more than

that.

>> Neil: You know this newspaper

better than I, senator.

I don't notice any rabid

related stories, but nothing

that could be deemed first flush

Chastain's latest has some off-putting 'white savior' themes - Daily News - Duration: 1:47.

Like the painter at the center of her true story, director Susanna White is drawn to the raw beauty of the American plains

In "Woman Walks Ahead," Jessica Chastain plays widowed Brooklyn painter Caroline Weldon, who in the late 1800s undertook a controversial solo trip to the Dakota territory to paint a portrait of Lakota Sioux leader Sitting Bull (Michael Greyeyes of "Fear the Walking Dead")

This happens while the US Army is pressuring those on the reservation to accept a dubious land allotment treaty

The film, and the talented Chastain, are at their best depicting the quiet, tentative friendship between Weldon and Sitting Bull — who's a lot more urbane than the romantic notions she brings to their first meeting — and in Weldon's mounting dismay over the Army's treatment of Native Americans, met by outright violence from white locals

More wobbly moments of "Woman Walks Ahead" seem to teeter on the edge of both white-saviorism and becoming a Harlequin romance: In one scene, Weldon and Sitting Bull take shelter in a teepee after getting caught in the rain

The way the fire reflects on his abs, you'd think the plot might be headed in Nicholas Sparksy directions

It's not, though — and Sam Rockwell, as a cynical officer repeatedly warning Weldon away, handily embodies the menace of what's to come, to which devastating real photos from the era attest over the end credits
