Patriotic Music Star Accepts White House Invite, Shuts Down Critics.

An invitation to the White House is an incredible honor, despite sports teams and athletes skipping

out on celebrating their victories with the president.

But nothing is going to stop one "American Idol" finalist from performing on the White

House lawn on Independence Day this year.

"I think it's kinda a really unfortunate thing people can't separate politics and

patriotism," Jax told TMZ.

The New Jersey singer went on to explain that she comes from a strong military background.

Her 20-year-old younger brother is a marine and her father was a first responder during

the 9/11 terror attack, Fox News reported.

"It's really important thing for me to take this opportunity and be happy and honor

my family," she said.

"I don't think it's about me and I don't think it's about the president of the United

States.

I think it's about honoring our troops and honoring the birthday of our country."

She concluded, "I think it's really important to keep that in mind and not to bring any

politics into it."

The July 4 concert on the south lawn of the White House will star singers Jax, Jonny Brenns

and Sara Evans.

It will air on the Hallmark Channel Wednesday as well.

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump will reportedly be in attendance.

"I'm delighted to welcome this new addition to the annual White House July 4th celebration,"

Melania Trump said in a statement.

"Americans will be able to tune in from their homes and be part of the festivities."

While we've seen countless athletes decide to associate a White House visit with approving

of Trump and his policies, it is refreshing to see a singer speak out against people who

she knows will criticize her for accepting the invitation.

Most recently, the Washington Capitals won the first Stanley Cup in franchise history,

but forward Devante Smith-Pelly told Canada's National Post that he doesn't plan to visit

the White House as long as Donald Trump is president.

"The things that he spews are straight-up racist and sexist," Smith-Pelly said.

"Some of the things he's said are pretty gross.

I'm not too into politics, so I don't know all his other views, but his rhetoric

I definitely don't agree with."

Jax, on the other hand, knows this is "an opportunity I just can't pass up."

"If it was Barack Obama, if it were Hillary, if any president or anybody in the world was

inviting me to perform on the lawn at the White House, it's an opportunity I just

can't pass up," Jax told TMZ.

"It's such an honor and such an incredible place.

Who in their lifetime gets to say that they get to sing at the White House?"

what do you think about this?

It's Pride Month, right?

-(cheering and applause) -Which...

which America has been celebrating

with huge pride parades around the country,

from right here in New York all the way to Buford, Wyoming.

Now, there it was just two guys walking to CVS,

but they were having a good time,

so it counts as a parade.

But, but yesterday's Supreme Court news

has dimmed the celebration

because Justice Kennedy was the swing vote

supporting gay rights,

and there's widespread concern that Trump's next pick won't be.

Right, it's a harsh way to end Pride Month.

You know, it's kind of like ending your birthday party

with a cancer doctor popping out of a cake.

Like, "Surprise!"

♪ Happy last birthday to you ♪

You guys sound like you were at the birthday for real.

(groans)

And although many are worried

about the future of LGBTQ rights,

let's take a moment to celebrate

how much progress has been made--

and not just in America, but around the world.

Taiwan will become the first Asian nation

to legalize same-sex marriage.

History tonight down under.

Australia's parliament has voted to legalize gay marriage.

Germany's parliament voted to legalize same-sex marriage

in a historic vote.

Bermuda has now legalized same-sex marriage

for a second time.

The island's supreme court overturned a gay marriage ban

that was signed into law just four months ago.

The supreme court first legalized

same-sex marriage last May.

Then in February, Bermuda became

the first national territory in the world

to repeal its gay marriage legislation.

Yeah, that's right.

Bermuda legalized same-sex marriage twice.

Yeah. And I know that seems weird,

but that's just how legislation works in Bermuda.

You see, what happens is you pass it in parliament,

and then it goes to the Triangle,

where it's lost.

Then a deep-sea diver finds it

and takes it back to parliament.

(cheering and applause)

And it's not just marriage equality.

Around the world, LGBTQ rights

are moving forward in different ways.

Pakistan passed transgender rights.

Botswana's high court

recognized a trans woman's identity for the first time,

and all of Georgia is now gay.

Yeah. Yeah, you...

Don't even... Those Queer Eye guys do not mess around.

(cheering and applause)

And even though, and even though the Trump administration

has eroded LGBTQ rights

by rolling back antidiscrimination laws

and banning trans people from the military,

they're gonna find it a lot harder

to reverse the public's views on gay rights.

The most recent ABC News poll found that 81% of Americans

said companies should not be allowed

to refuse service to gays and lesbians.

67% now say that same-sex marriages should be legal.

That's the highest we've ever seen.

This is one of the most remarkable changes

that we have seen in our history.

As the country heads toward midterm elections this fall,

some history is being made.

An unprecedented number of candidates

who are openly lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender

are running for office.

That's an incredible story.

It's incredible all around, right?

(cheering and applause)

Think of how perceptions have shifted.

And it wasn't easy.

Don't ever forget it wasn't easy.

It took marches, it took protests,

it took lawsuits and two different Will & Graces

to get America here,

but it got here all the same.

So happy Pride Month, everyone.

Man Utd transfer news: Anthony Martial management drops hint over future - Duration: 2:17.

The Frenchman is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer after falling down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho

Martial was left out of Didier Deschamps' France squad for the World Cup earlier this month which did little to dispel speculation surrounding the star's future

The attacker has been preparing for the start of the new season, and his representatives have now dropped a huge hint over the player's future

USFA Management posted a photo of Martial on their earlier this week, captioning the post: "The 2018-2019 season is getting ready

" A number of hashtags then followed the caption, including one that said 'manutd' followed by a question mark

Martial fans flocked to the post, begging the youngster to remain at United beyond the summer

Speaking last month, agent Philippe Lamboley said: "After thinking about all the factors and possibilities, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United

"There are lots of factors, and right now it's too early to talk about them. "Manchester United want Anthony to extend his deal and do not want him to leave but we have not reached an agreement for several months

"I think that when Manchester United, the most powerful club in the world, do not find an agreement after eight months of negotiations then they do not really want to keep such an important player in their squad

"That's why this decision has come – it's a well-thought-out decision. "It's important to remember that he is under contract and that Manchester United will have the last word

"We will respect the club's decision and he will stick with his commitment to the end

"

U.S. intelligence believes N Korea is ramping up nuclear production - 247 news - Duration: 5:44.

U.S. intelligence agencies believe North Korea has increased production of fuel for nuclear weapons at multiple secret sites in recent months and may try to hide these while seeking concessions in nuclear talks with the United States, NBC news quoted U

S. officials as saying. In a report on Friday, the network said what it described as the latest U

S. intelligence assessment appeared to go counter to sentiments expressed by President Donald Trump, who tweeted after an unprecedented June 12 summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un that 'there is no longer a nuclear threat from North Korea

'NBC quoted five unidentified U.S. officials as saying that in recent months North Korea had stepped up production of enriched uranium for nuclear weapons, even as it engaged in diplomacy with the United States

The network cited U.S. officials as saying that the intelligence assessment concludes that North Korea has more than one secret nuclear site in addition to its known nuclear fuel production facility at Yongbyon

'There is absolutely unequivocal evidence that they are trying to deceive the U

S.,' NBC quoted one official as saying. The CIA declined to comment on the NBC report

The State Department said it could not confirm it and did not comment on matters of intelligence

The White House did not respond to a request for comment. The NBC report raises further questions about North Korea's readiness to enter serious negotiations about giving up a weapons program that now threatens the United States, in spite of Trump's enthusiastic portrayal of the summit outcome

NBC quoted one senior U.S. intelligence official as saying that North Korea's decision ahead of the summit to suspend nuclear and missile tests was unexpected and the fact that the two sides were talking was a positive step

Share this article Share However, he added: 'Work is ongoing to deceive us on the number of facilities, the number of weapons, the number of missiles

We are watching closely.'Jeffrey Lewis, director of the East Asia Nonproliferation Program at California's Middlebury Institute of International Studies, said there were two 'bombshells' in the report

He said it had long been understood that North Korea had at least one undeclared facility to enrich nuclear fuel aside from Yongbyon

'This assessment says there is more than one secret site. That means there are at least three, if not more sites,' he said

Lewis said the report also implied that U.S. intelligence had reporting to suggest North Korea did not intend to disclose one or more of the enrichment sites

'Together, these two things would imply that North Korea intended to disclose some sites as part of the denuclearization process, while retaining others,' he said

North Korea agreed at the summit to 'work toward denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula,' but the joint statement signed by Kim and Trump gave no details on how or when Pyongyang might surrender its nuclear weapons

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said last week he would likely go back to North Korea before long to try to flesh out commitments made at the Trump-Kim meeting

On Thursday, the Financial Times quoted U.S. officials as saying that Pompeo plans to travel to North Korea next week, but the State Department has declined to confirm this

Ahead of the summit, North Korea rejected unilaterally abandoning an arsenal it has called an essential deterrent against U

S. aggression.Trump said last week North Korea was blowing up four of its big test sites and that a process of 'total denuclearization

has already started,' but officials said there had been no such evidence since the summit

This week, Washington-based North Korean monitoring project 38 North said recent satellite imagery showed North Korea had made rapid improvements to facilities at Yongbyon since May 6, but it could not say if such work had continued after June 12

Arsenal transfer news: Jack Wilshere slammed over imminent Fenerbahce move - Duration: 2:13.

Wilshere announced last week that he would be leaving Arsenal in search of regular first-team football and reports suggest he has opted to take his career to Turkey and play for Fenerbahce

Wilshere is in line for a bumper financial package as a result of being a free agent and former Arsenal midfielder Adrian Clarke believes the midfielder is making the wrong move

"I'm a little bit angry about this, a little bit upset," he told talkSPORT 2. "If Jack chooses to go to Turkish football, it's not the right decision for his career

"The one thing he needs to sweep aside when he chooses his next destination is money – he needs to forget about it

He's got enough money and he will be well paid wherever he goes. "He has to choose carefully for the sake of his career, but if you go to Turkey you are choosing money

"I believe he should be targeting a mid-ranking Premier League club that plays the kind of football that suits him – Wolves and Fulham spring to mind, two teams tailor-made for him

I think he would be fantastic at a club like Newcastle as well.  "I'm not against him going aboard, but if you're going to do that, then choose a proper league! Choose Spain, Italy or France – the Turkish league is not strong

"Ok, maybe Jack hasn't had the offers he expected from other clubs and maybe this is the best on the table, but I doubt it

"This would be a backward step in his career. He won't get an England recall playing for Fenerbahce

Choosing money over your career at this point for Jack Wilshere is daft."

Argentina team news: Lionel Messi revelation as manager makes tough decision - Duration: 2:27.

The latest Argentina team news indicates that Messi is set to start for Jorge Sampaoli today

Argentina are looking to go one better than their last World Cup campaign, when they reached the final in Brazil

And Messi, who was crowned the player of the tournament at Brazil 2014, is due to keep his place in the side today

However, the Barcelona superstar is set to be given a new role in the side as Jorge Sampaoli desperately seeks to find a winning formula

Argentina have flattered to deceive at the World Cup in Russia this summer and Messi boasts just one goal for the tournament so far

It is understood Messi is set to play behind two main strikers in Gonzalo Higuain and Sergio Aguero

The hope is that he can find the form he excels with so much at Barcelona when not playing as a central striker

Lionel Messi proved for his club side this season that he can play as part of a forward pair, alongside Uruguay's Luis Suarez

But that dynamic with Higuain has failed and Sampaoli will make changes for the France game, which kicks off at 3pm

Aguero or Paulo Dybala could therefore start, with Messi given a free role to show off his talents in Kazan

As for Messi, Sampaoli has challenged the star's Argentina team-mates to step up to his level

"Leo has such clear vision when it comes to football that he allows us to see things that, sometimes, only a true genius sees," said Sampaoli

"It's often difficult to be at the level of such a great player. "He's a shining light for us all and we have to do our very best to all try to be at his level

"
