Hey guys for Complex News, I'm Natasha Martinez.
Keke Palmer has been in the music and entertainment industry since since she was a kid and since
then she's kept relationships with major pop artists like Trey Songz.
Now, Keke is claiming that their long time friendship has betrayed her, and is alleging
that Trey used 'sexual intimidation' to get Keke's consent to appear in his 'Pick Up The
Phone' music video.
Late Saturday night Palmer shared a series of Instagram posts and videos explaining that
she did not give consent to appear in the video, and that she was being secretly filmed
against her wishes, casing point of female disrespect in the industry.
"This is preposterous.
How am I in this video Trey?
After you found me in a closet HIDING because I was so afraid of anymore conflict.
Literally my last option was to hide because you all would not listen when I said I did
not want to be in the video the FIRST time.
Just cause you give someone food and alcohol and throw in a little sexual intimidation
doesn't mean they will buckle."
Keke went on to say that Trey disrespected her and her brand, and that if she was a guy
he wouldn't have even tried.
She then further explained what happened the night of the filming in a couple of videos
saying that she was under the impression that she was just going to a party.
In the video Keke appears on her phone for less that
10 seconds.
She's sitting on the couch, next to Mikex Angel who is a featured artist on the track.
Many commenters noted it seemed like a lot of hoopla over her short appearance and questioned
why she had to put Trey on blast if she could just call him privately, to which she responded,
"We go from hanging out, to snap chatting, to all of a sudden a full production... then
to make matters worse, use it on a single you're making money on?...
That's taking advantage of our friendship and a public betrayal and I have every right
to publicly address it."
Trey songz has not directly responded to the allegations but did post a caption to instagram
alluding to the incident saying,
"I cannot devote my life to responding to, or clearing up every side of every story you
hear about me, when would I actually live?"
