What's up! I'm here giving some rest to the absurd.
I know that, the water review videos are pretty stupid.
Although I like very much to do videos about absurd things,
however, this time...
I'll be talking about a subject which catch my eye and I know yours might get caught too
A subject that it's sort of ignored, it hasn't been discussed by many channels I follow whom talk about movies
So, I'll talk about unknown movie franchises or at least not too known from the horror genre
Sure, everybody knows when we talk about horror movies the popular franchises are always three.
They're like the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit from horror cinema
It's Freddy Krueger with the A Nightmare.. movies,
Jason with Friday the 13th,
And Michael Myers with Halloween
There's like a bastard son named Chainsaw Texas Massacre,
Whatever, those three are the most popular horror franchises.
I'm going to make the rules clear for this video and others to come in this subject.
Firstly, none of the three big franchises nor The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,
On second place, it must be more than three films.
Because one movie by itself obviously it's not a franchise.
Two movies, are an original and the obligated sequel.
From three movies forward we can considerate it a franchise.
Although currently the term "trilogy" it's used for that.
Trilogy for this, trilogy for that other thing, bla bla bla,
There's a shitload of trilogies.
Even projects that should've finished in just one film are extended to three.
For money.
If we have four movies it's called tetralogy,
five movies are a pentalogy.
And it continues with the names of all the geometrical figures in a silly way.
But, since I do my own rules I don't give a shit.
If there's three movies at least, I'm calling it a franchise. Come on!
"The Stepfather" franchise really has my atention,
because it's about a serial killer.
And I don't said that because I'm a serial killer...
I'm just projecting myself a little bit.
The first movie it's named "The Stepfather"
It stars with actor Terry O'Quinn,
maybe doesn't mean anything to you but,
I know you'll recognize him as,
the bald guy from "Lost" series.
He has done more stuff but fuck it,
he's more popular for the "Lost" series.
And you know it.
Then comes "The Stepfather 2",
which includes a subtitle, I think it is:
"Make room for daddy"
Silly stuff.
After those comes "The Stepfather 3",
where stuff began to get weird.
The overall quality went down but we'll get there soon.
And a remake,
also named "The Stepfather",
it's actually a cool movie.
It stars with Dylan Walsh, he's an actor...
I like very much,
I saw him in the series Nip/Tuck,
and I like to watch him in stuff since.
Also I know he was in the movie "Congo",
it's a weird movie,
but he is in it.
So it's cool.
He also appears in the series...
"Unforgettable"
Actually it's quite forgettable the series.
But you can watch it just to get by.
The Stepfather I it's a movie from the 80's so,
it's a delight,
of all this 80's horror cinema,
the things called thrash, grindhouse,
despite having an acceptable budget.
This movie has the resolution of an old image and speaks by itself.
All the looks are blurry, dark colored,
specially now watching it in the internet.
I think the part two is in Youtube, and part three too.
So, you can tell the quality is very low. And I love it.
It looks like a VHS.
That fascinates me completely.
Also the movie is pretty short,
lasts like 80 minutes,
So, you can watch it quickly.
Almost one hour and a half,
I think anyone can watch it.
While you are cleaning, cooking, I don't know,
You just play it there and...
very entertaining.
It's important to say that "The Stepfather" movies,
are suspense, thriller, all this psychological stuff about a serial killer,
how his mind works, the reasons why he kill, how he does it
Which doesn't make it an explicit movie.
There is no gore you know,
When someone gets stabbed, if that's the case,
we don't get to see the guts or anything else.
It is reserved at some point.
That's how I get to the most important point of the Stepfather's franchise,
the sequels and the reamke itself.
Ok, the four movies are practically the same story.
I'm telling you the story of the first one and it's practically the story for the four movies.
In the first movie, Lost's bald guy,
that's how we are going to call him,
meets single mothers,
he conquers them, tries to win the children and finally gets married, goes to live with them and
he becomes part of the family.
At some point of his...
his life I guess,
his familiar relationship,
or so to speak,
I missed the concept.
He goes from that house having long absences,
which that dude uses to flirt another single mother on a far place.
That's how he start a second family.
Once everything is established with the second family,
he goes back to the first family and fucking kills them.
So, when he kills them he does himself and identity change,
sometimes he sports the moustache, other times he...
wears wigs, etc.
Very,
chameleonic.
And so he goes family after family, killing.
By the opening of the first movie we don't know how many families he has killed,
we only know he is already wanted.
As a matter of fact the opening scene reveals a murdered family.
Usually the troubles come from,
his lack of connection with the children.
Son, daughter, ex husband,
there's always somebody who he fails to convince.
And that's the start for the other character to investigate him.
Besides he can't contain himself,
as soon as anyone piss him off he kills them.
If there's an annoying neighbour he fucking kills him,
or even a priest if he's annoying too. Fucking kill him.
So,
he begins to turn careless in his murders,
and this person: son, daughter or whoever suspects of him
Finally catches him.
This happens in all four movies.
So,
if this short
