Can anyone hear me? I do not understand myself anymore.
Then we do subtitles.
That seems like a good idea to me.
Hey, hi, thank you for watching our new video. I'm Jeroen
I'm Bianca by the way.
We are now in Scheveningen.
And it's damn cold.
You wanted to go to Scheveningen, then you should not complain.
Not true! I gave you the choice, but you did not want any choice. You wanted to go everywhere.
We're not going everywhere.
No, we've been everywhere.
This is the last stop.
Why did we not film that?
Some things, you have to keep secret.
We can't say anything about that yet.
What we will do in Scheveningen?
No idea, just wander around.
A little walk around, simply because we can.
We are free, then you should do something with your free time.
And we live in the neighborhood, so why would not go to Scheveningen.
We live near Kijkduin, not Scheveningen.
Lots of people go to Scheveningen who live somewhere in the Achterhoek.
We live fairly close.
If you look at it that way, we live in the neighborhood.
So it's little trouble.
Nice music huh?
Just static on the line.
They have put through that same music on all the speakers to the entire Pier.
But can anyone still hear me? I do not understand myself anymore.
Then we do subtitles.
That seems like a good idea to me.
They say that it is soothing to look at the sea.
If you now look at a sea that goes very fast ...
... Then you are also very quickly quiet?
Or quickly seasick?
One try, right?
Seems nothing to jump of a board with an elastic at the ankles.
Definitely not.
Why would you jump?
I do not know either. You can also come down the normal way.
I would rather jump out of a plane with a parachute ...
... Then going with a rubber band on my ankles from a board.
That anyway, but just rather not jump.
We can take a dip here.
I would not do that either.
Also not? -No, I would not.
Ferris then?
No, we are not going to do that either.
We remain just good run here. -Afraid of heights, nice!
This seems something for you.
Do you think? -You don't need any special talents for this.
You just sit in that thing, and you let yourself slide down.
So I'm an airhead?
I did not say that.
But this would be something nice for you.
No, it's too boring.
You really comes as the last piece: boom!
We can also skate, which is on the other side of the Kurhaus.
Ice skating? -Well, I mean.
Shall we go skating then? -Haha!
I would again like it, but on natural ice.
Let us hope that the coming week will be very cold.
That it will freeze.
So we can skate on natural ice.
Are you coming then?
I can not skate!
You can do just a little shuffling?
Then we take a seat. -No, I can not.
I can not even shuffle.
I just need my legs stuck together.
As on a board or a snowboard.
This works somewhat.
The possibility that you can jump off.
That would be nice.
But just two things on my foot ...
... Separately from each other, then I'm like Bambi.
Walking is already a problem.
That's difficult, yes.
Then you should not want to put under any skates.
You can just bring such a thing anyway?
Yeah bye!
I get pain in my back. I'm small, but so small either.
A new problem for every solution.
As long as she does not have to skate.
Exactly.
You see, it looks horrible!
If we're here, we might as well get ourselves a burger.
It is always easy if you are vegetarian.
It used to be standard that you could be happy if there was anything at all.
Nowadays you even get choice stress as a vegetarian.
Here you don't, just one veggie burger.
So we both ordered that.
Just hope that it's a bit tasty.
The fries are in any case.
The fries are nice and thin.
Something different than farmer fries.
It's a great big burger.
So wish me luck!
Yes, it is fine!
Nice and crispy.
Just good taste. Super!
It is Wednesday.
Time for a little Shoplog.
In our vlog last week you already saw that the car, that was Bianca's ...
...not anymore...
... That it's with us no more.
And behind me is its replacement.
Blue Ford Fiesta. Simply, good condition.
That's sometimes fun ...
... The first bird has also had a shit on it.
But it won't drive any less because of that.
Bianca knows nothing yet, so I'm going to surprise her now.
She is still working and I said that I would pick her up.
But I still did not have the new car.
She does not know yet.
So I'm very curious how she will respond.
With the Saxo, not only the left door couldn't be opened.
The fuel gauge did not work. And quite annoying if you like music ...
... The radio did not work.
This one does.
You could see in an earlier video ...
... I was listening to this CD. When I said ...
... That it would be particularly suitable for car.
I can now finally turn it on.
So we're going to do it.
We are at the place where Bianca works.
I parked as antisocial at the door as it was possible.
The parking, by the way, is over there.
I'm quite anti-social.
But that's fine, because Bianca will definitely not miss it like this.
I wonder if she recognized me already.
Oh, I must say it again?
I saw a blue Fiesta driving past, so I figured it would be you.
Do you like it? -It's nice from a distance. It is dark outside.
From a distance? Up close you do not like it?
I do not know, I must take a closer look.
I finish this off here, right?
You should actually have permission from the boss.
I asked at the information desk, it was alright.
Oh, she said that?
This is quite a strange experience.
For the first time since I got my driver's license ...
... Is there someone else going to drive my car.
And I sit in the passenger's seat.
Well darling, how does it feel?
May I first have a look where everything is?
No.
Okay.
That's that.
That's just it, okay.
And I can just do so without lifting?
Could you turn off the light, please?
And get that camera out of my face.
Well guys, you'll soon find out if we survived.
Bianca's driving was excellent yesterday, of course.
Today I am at Haags Popcentrum.
Last week you saw me buying drum sticks.
What I'm going to do today is hit the skins.
I rented a room here.
The next four hours I can make as much noise as I please.
Here I'm going to put down the drums. I got all the stuff right here.
And a microphone stand so I can record some stuff as well.
But we're not going to do that in a very fancy way today.
Or actually maybe we do.
We're just using an iPhone today.
Crispy sound right?
For my band It's the Music Apple Juice I wrote most of the songs using an iPhone or iPad.
Usually I first recorded the guitar and bass parts over a click track with GarageBand.
The instruments I plug in with the aid of a iRig HD. Amps and effects come from GarageBand.
Then I play a digital drum part or I put a drum machine underneath.
Then I take on vocals. Usually with iRig Mic, but sometimes I did the vocals on iMac using a Røde Broadcaster.
The song you hear now, is called Don't Wake Me Up Now.
What you're hearing is the original recording, but without the original digital drums.
I sing and play all the parts.
You hear 3 guitars, 1 bass and five vocals.
And of course drums, but that was already clear.
On my headphones I hear the instruments and vocals plus a click track.
The last time I played the drums is about 3 years ago.
Not surprising therefore that in this recording are still a few glitches.
But I recorded enough takes in two hours time to create an error-free version.
With a little cutting and pasting. Mind you.
Don't Wake Me Up Now, I wrote on May 21, 2013.
I had spent a few days in, because it was raining constantly.
Because I was so tired of this, I drove to the Wilhelminapark in Rijswijk.
The idea for this song came during a walk through the rain.
At home I was soaked and so I played the guitars you're hearing right now.
In addition to the drums, everything is recorded in three takes or less per part.
I never told the real story behind this song.
When performing with the band, I said sometimes it's about sex in the morning.
I told the band, it is about the walk in rainy Rijswijk.
In interviews on the radio, I have told other stories about it.
None of them were true.
The lyrics are about a dream I had the night before.
In that dream, I jumped into the sea from a cliff.
I did not expect to survive the jump, but continued to live under water.
The second verse is about the walk to the rock.
The next thing that happened in my dream, that I was washed up on a beach.
At the beach I was sleeping and I did not want to wake up.
I did wake up, of course, but fortunately in my own bed.
My band performed for the last time in September 2014.
I have some songs that got to be recorded with real drums.
It took me a few years to get myself to starting this project.
The day has finally come. This session was only the beginning.
Good enough, I'm busy for thirty minutes now
Since the drum kit was built up.
And the first blister is a fact.
So I'm going to get a patch.
Three hours later.
It is now twenty past six.
I have recorded one song.
I've tried another one.
But that didn't work out because there's something in the pace that is not quite right.
And I have a done a song just off the cuff ...
... That is a really quite a heavy song.
But I don't have it on film.
Maybe you'll get to hear some of it soon.
I'm actually done with it for now.
So I go pack the drums ...
... and then I'm heading home.
I have a dry mouth.
The blisters are on my fingers.
And there's a little cooking to do. So I'm going to pack up the drums.
So far this video. Thank you for watching, until next time. Bye!
