Chelsea news: Ex-Blues chief Michael Emenalo becomes new Monaco sporting director

MICHAEL EMENALO says Monaco was a natural choice after the former Chelsea chief was confirmed as the French sides new sporting director.

The 52-year-old stunned Stamford Bridge officials by quitting his role after 10 years as technical director earlier this month.

Michael Emenalo has been appointed the new sporting director at Monaco.

He was linked with a move the the reigning Ligue 1 champions, and that switch was confirmed today.

Emenalo said: This is a wonderful opportunity for me in a high quality project.

AS Monaco has shown great progress for several seasons and I am convinced that the future will be just as ambitious.

Vadim Vasilyevs willingness to see me join AS Monaco was decisive and for me, the choice was natural after my decision to leave Chelsea.

The Nigerian stunned Stamford Bridge when he quit the club earlier this month.

The 52-year-old claimed he wanted to leave Chelsea to spend more time with his family.

Monacos vice-president Vasilyev was equally as delighted to snap-up someone with such a proven track record.

Upon Emenalos appointment, he said: I am very happy to be able to count on Michael.

I invested a lot in his arrival.

His know-how in detection and recruitment, as well as the technical experience acquired in one of the most successful clubs in recent years, are the reasons that led us to present this ambitious challenge.

This appointment is another sign of our ambition and our desire to be as competitive as possible.

Emenalos latest venture comes less than a month after Chelsea owner Roman Abrahovich failed in a plea to get his trusted lieutenant to stay in West London.

After handing in his notice following the victory over Manchester United, both the Nigerian and the Blues claimed his departure was down to a desire to spend more time with his family.

Emenalo says that Monaco was a natural choice for him.

Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev is delighted to have recruited Emenalo.

Chelsea have still not made a decision on a replacement.

Director Marina Granovskaia taking on much of the workload he left behind in the meantime.

MVP less Warriors fall to Kings 110 -106 - American news hot - Duration: 1:04.

Maybe the Warriors can weather the absence of one MVP — but not two.

Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant both missed Monday night's game against Sacramento. And it showed down the stretch, as the Kings surged in the closing minutes to snatch a 110-106 victory at Oracle Arena.

The Warriors missed their final seven shots from the field, including four by Klay Thompson. The Kings closed on an 8-0 run to win in Oakland for the first time since March 2013.

Thompson led the Warriors with 21 points, and Patrick McCaw added 16 points and seven assists in his first start of the season. Willie Cauley-Stein led the Kings with 19 points.

For most of the night, Golden State seemed equipped to survive without Curry and Durant. Then, with the outcome hanging in the balance, the Warriors abandoned their perpetual motion on offense and turned into statues.

The Kings tied the game on two Garrett Temple free throws and a resounding dunk from Cauley-Stein. After Thompson missed two more shots, Sacramento's Bogdan Bogdanovic made a tough bank shot in the lane — over Green — with 12.6 seconds left. That pushed the Kings ahead 108-106.

The Warriors led by only two points at halftime (55-53), but that wasn't a terrible predicament given their missing MVPs and Thompson's subpar first-half shooting. He went 3-for-11 in the half, including 1-for-4 from three-point distance, before heating up in the third quarter.

Chelsea vs Swansea: Live stream, TV channel, team news and kick-off time for Premier League clash

ANTONIO CONTE wants his side to build from the momentum which saw them salvage a point against Liverpool over the weekend.

Willians 85th minute goal was enough to keep his sides unbeaten league run going and they are looking to put pressure on Manchester United who are three points ahead.

Paul Clement is struggling to turn the tide at Swansea.

Which channel can I watch it on?.

UNFORTUNATELY, the game will not be shown live in the UK.

But you can join us on the SunSport live blog for all the latest updates from the match.

Federico Fernandez has also helped stabilise Swanseas defence but has flown back to Argentina.

What is the team news?.

Victor Moses will be pushing for selection after being an unused substitute in the 1-1 draw with Liverpool.

The 26-year-old has been out for over a month with a hamstring injury and whilst back on the bench over the weekend, did not feature.

Striker Michy Batshuayi remains sidelined due to a foot injury which he sustained on international duty but is aiming to be back in December.

Manager Conte is expected to name an unchanged side for the home game as he looks to extend the unbeaten league run.

Paul Clement will be without Federico Fernandez for the trip to Stamford Bridge.

Following the death of his father, the defender flew back to Argentina over the weekend - missing the 0-0 against Bournemouth - and will be unavailable for another two matches.

Mike van der Hoorn, who replaced Fernandez over the weekend, will be likely to keep his place after putting in a strong performance but Wilfried Bony remains under pressure as he has now gone nine Premier League games in a row without a goal.

Steve Sidwell (back) is the only Swansea player who is unavailable due to injury.
