Today is 26th November 2017
and this weekend we are guests of Radio Amateur Union of Spain
and their section in Las Palmas (Gran Canaria)
This facility is their local radio club
We are in suburb of Las Palmas
And, I want to show you how it all looks like...
As you can see, they have a lot of antennas
Four towers with mostly HF antennas
for working on HF (of course)
This area is a parking lot
As you can see there is a barbacue
Let's see what is inside...
Right on the entrance there are...
...several old radio stations...
...and just one of many awards...
...won from this station.
This is probably one of the most valuable one
WPX CW Contest 2010
This is congressional hall
I thing this is used as sleeping room when there is need for hosting much more people
Small saloon for resting, playing chess or if someone likes to read...
Now let's go upstairs
Where main thing happens
Let's go here first
Reception and QSL buerau
Radio amateurs from Gran Canaria can leave their QSL cards here to be sent out
And here are sorted QSL cards that are *received*
As you can see, there is a lot of radio amateurs in Las Palmas *and* Gran Canaria
Let's go here first...
ESCUELA - which means SCHOOL
They are learning CW / Telegraphy here
few radio stations
few different keyers
whiteboard
More certificates and awards
Few more old radio stations Facility is really full of those
Here is another small meeting room
Here next is so called MESS ROOM
as you can see it is a bit "in mess" :)
They have here several small radios for working on VHF
There is a office of station manager
And now one of interesting parts...
Duplexer for digital (VHF) repeater...
...which is off at the moment. As we are told they use it only two months a year
because there is not much interest in using it
And here we have their APRS link
which is much more active
Now let's go to the main part
There is a CW of course (WC)
Here is Mr.Spider (Nikola Mitić)
- Wave for the folks - Wave for the folks !
- To whom? Wh...is...$#!@?
- We are LIVE on RTS (Serbian broadcaster)
- I'm recording man, for Facebook...
Here we are again outside of the facility
And again, one more look at many antennas and cables around us...
That's it for now. A lot of greetings from Las Palmas by Montenegro folks...73
