BREAKING NEWS About JOHN CONYERS Its REALLY BAD!
Michigan Rep. John Conyers has had a tough couple of weeks, and its not getting any
better for the embattled Congressman.Early Thursday morning, a former staffer under a
confidentiality agreement broke her silence to reveal the years of sexual abuse she suffered
from the 88-year-old while working in his office.
61-year-old Marion Brown said that the Democrat wouldnt stop propositioning her for sex
throughout her entire career working with him, which lasted over a decade, FOX59 reported,
and thats not even the worst part.
Marion Brown, 61, said the Democratic congressman propositioned her for sex multiple times over
more than a decade.
She said she stayed on the job because she needed to support her family and found the
work rewarding. It was sexual harassment violating my body, she said.
Propositioning me.
Inviting me to hotels with the guise of discussing business and then propositioning me for
sex.
The Associated Press left messages Thursday seeking comment from Conyers lawyer, who
has said the 88-year-old will fight the misconduct allegations.Last week, BuzzFeed News reported
Conyers had settled a complaint in 2015 for $27,000 from a female staffer who alleged
she was fired because she rejected his sexual advances.
BuzzFeed didnt disclose her name in its initial report and said the settlement was
confidential.
Browns lawyer later confirmed that she was that victim.
While shes putting herself at risk now for speaking out in spite of the non-disclosure
agreement, she wants people to know shes not a liar.
Things also took an interesting turn on Thursday when the same media outlet reported that Conyers
was unexpectedly hospitalized early this morning.
Details are slim on why he went in, but some reports indicate it may be stress related,
which doesnt seem too far-fetched considering whats been happening in his life.
Additionally, its being reported that Conyers isnt going to seek re-election in 2018.
The Washington Examiner reported:
Conyers will not resign from his post, but intends to announce in January he will no
longer run for re-election, sources told WDIV-TV, a local NBC-affiliate in the Detroit area.
Multiple women have accused Conyers of sexual harassment, and Conyers admitted to a settlement
but denied the allegations.
According to documents from the wrongful dismissal complaint, including affidavits signed by
four former staffers, Conyers on multiple occasions made unwanted sexual advanced to
his female staff, BuzzFeed reported earlier this month.
So it looks as if this is the end of the road for the longest serving member of Congress.
Good riddance!
