Hi everybody! I am Andy, and today we are going to make a eggless strawberry pie

The first thing we need to do

is to reconstitute our egg substitute

in this recipe we are going to substitute only one egg,

because that is how the recipe is made

That is the reason that you see a little quantity

We are going to add the sugar

and we are going to mix this well

Now we add the vanilla essence

if you want to use a vanilla bean

you can also do it

we add the pinch of salt

and the butter

finally we add the flour

and we are going to add it in two steps

Like you saw in the cookies video

is a dough that doesn't come together easily

There is another way to make this dough

but to make it quicker and easier i made it like this

We are going to flatten the dough

(is very similar to the cookie dough)

If the dough brokes, you can fix it pinching with the hands

When you have the dough ready

we are going to stick a fork in it, so it doesn't rise in the oven

You can avoid this also putting some beans on the top, or ceramic balls

180 celsius degrees in the oven

for 20 minutes approximately

and it should look like after is cooked

For the filling, we are going to simulate custard cream

But the custard cream has egg yolks

We are going to add milk, vanilla, sugar and corn starch

We are going to omitt the egg yolks because we are making an egg less pie

Very important: we have to dilute the corn starch with cold water

because if you make this with hot water, you will activate the corn starch and it will doesn't going to work

When the milk starts to boil

we add the corn starch

And we mix until it thickens

As you can see, the cream thickened

the bubbles that came from the milk

are very slow, so that means that is ready

For accelerate the process of cooling down the cream

We are going to put the pot in cold water

Now for the top, we are going to cut strawberries in half

We put the strawberries on the fire

and we are going to add sugar just to cover them up

is to avoid the acidity of the strawberries

we aren't cooking this, just wait until the sugar dissolves

When the bottom of the pie is warm, we are going to add the cream

very carefully

and we are going to put the pie to the fridge

for one hour

after this we are going to put the strawberries on top

you can also use other fruit if you don't like strawberries
