Hello, I am Jacobo Feijoo and in this video courtesy of Cálamo & Cran
I'm going to explain what our narrative design toolkit consists of.
It allows to create any sort of narrative structure.
It's based on the Hero's Journey
created by Propp, Vogler, Campbell, Rodari, Jung, etc.
The system is very simple.
Here are 12 basic steps developed in scripting studies (they work perfectly).
They are the main structure of the story.
You can arrange them at your will.
Then you can complement these steps with another ones which differ with the basic system.
For example, "Mark" (Harry Potter has a mark, Indiana Jones has a mark)
doesn't fit in the classic structure, but it can be interesting to place it at a certain point of the story.
Or also Pandora's "Prohibition" and her "Transgression" of that prohibition.
Once we have arranged the structure, we can decide which characters will play a role in our story.
We have heroes, mentors, shapeshifters...
All these are characters proposed by the authors previously mentioned.
But if we choose a hero, what is he like?
Well, once we have chosen the structure and the protagonist,
we create a hero with the character trait "Rebel" (according to Jung's Archetypes)
But we can add a shade to this rebel hero:
we could choose the trait "Grump".
So a rebel, grumpy hero could be Cleant Eastwood as a cowboy in a western.
On the basis of this structure you can make speeches,
story lines, scripts, novels, contents, structuring ideas,
it can be used even for coaching since it can help to troubleshoot.
This is what we wanted to tell you and we hope that you'll enjoy.
There are infinite possibilities. You can imagine how many different stories can be made with 68 cards.
Thank you very much!
