Police in Turkey are on the hunt for a gunman who opened fire at a packed nightclub in Istanbul
on New Year's Eve,... killing at least 39 people... and leaving scores more injured.
The attack took place early Sunday at Reina nightclub,... after about an hour into the
New Year.
Turkish authorities say some 15 of those killed were foreigners,... including citizens from
Israel, France, Belgium and Tunisia.
Only 21 victims have been identified so far.
The gunman fled the scene... and the authorities do not yet... have solid evidence on who was
behind the attack.
The shooting comes on the heels of a series of deadly bombings blamed on terrorist groups
like Islamic State.

Independent counsel plans to summon Samsung leadership by this week - Duration: 0:44.
The independent counsel investigating the power abuse scandal plans to summon high-level
executives from Samsung Group as early as this week.
The team, lead by special prosecutor Park Young-soo, will investigate the board members
of the group's Future Strategy Office including its head, Jang Choong-Gi , and deputy head,
Choi Ji-Sung . The Future Strategy Office is suspected of
financially backing President Park Geun-hye's friend, Choi Soon-sil.
The counsel will look into whether Samsung's donations to foundations allegedly run by
Choi were in return... for President Park's role in influencing the state-run National
Pension Service to support the merger of two of its affiliates last year.

U.S. warns of consequences against N. Korea's New Year's message - Duration: 0:51.
The United States has warned North Korea... that there will be consequences for any illegal
actions.
This comes... as the regime's leader revealed that Pyongyang is in the final stages of test-firing
long-range missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads on new year's day.
The U.S. State Department made a statement on Sunday, local time,... that the UN Security
Council bans North Korea from launching ballistic missiles... and that it will use all measures
to show that such a move will lead to serious consequences.
The statement also urged other countries to mobilize all measures against such military
threats.
It went on to say that North Korea should stick to its international obligations and
come back for sincere dialogue,... while refraining from making provocative comments.
