One of the films at International Festival "Dnipro-Cinema", held now in Dnipro

was demonstrated today at Dnipropetrovsk National University.

The screening was organized at the Law Faculty not accidentally:

The documentary main character Oleksiy Tyschyk graduated therefrom.

He was a volunteer, who died in 2014, defending the Donetsk airport.

Film director Vyacheslav Bihun from Transcarpathia learned about this tragic event

and made the film entitled "Closest to God."

The film has already received recognition at several international festivals

and now it is screened in Dnipro.

The documentary's trailer the director called lyrical.

For it, he chose beautiful cinematography shots.

This way perhaps he was preparing the audience for the cruel truth of life.

It is about how a young man perished in the war.

Unable to bear the pain for his son, his mother passes away.

Vyacheslav Bihun, film director: "It's a tragic story.

It is a very well-known story which touched me.

And at some point I contacted Olexandr Ivanovich, the Oleksiy's father.

And he agreed that I'd make the film".

They did it together. Two people who had to speak out.

The first ― about the deep personal grief.

The second ― about personal concern for the whole country.

Therefore, the film, besides warm family shots featuring Olexandr Ivanovich with his granddaughter,

there are also shots from the Maidan and even shots from the fights at the Donetsk airport.

The film director of "Closest to God" described his film

as the one about the family's sacrifice in a new European war.
