Hello everyone! Welcome to this new video

This week we will work a style very different from the previous ones

We work with the minor harmonic scale widely used by guitarists like

Yngwie Malmsteen, Vinnie Moore or Michael Romeo from Symphony X

We should try to listen to many different styles because each one will contribute something to our way of playing.

This lick gives us a great technique of alternate picking and left hand

Come on!

For the sound I used a Stratocaster guitar and a typical Marshall amp sound.

On this base sound I have applied a delay and a reverb bright hall

The harmony of this lick is based on the minor harmonic scale

We play the root, second, third minor, fourth, fifth, sixth minor and seventh major

The tone and a half interval between the minor sixth and the major seventh is what characterizes this scale

The chord progression can be seen on the screen. The accompaniment used is as follows

Let's see the lick step by step

We start with the D arpeggio and using minor harmonic scale notes:

6th

7th and 8th

2nd and 3rd

Chromatic #4th and 5th

7th and 8th

Next we use the Bb and C # diminished arpeggio, and the same one octave lower.

We reuse the arpeggio of D

So far we played with alternate picking

Now we use speed picking, that is, we play two picks down and one up.

We play the A major arpeggio

G disminished

E disminished

C# disminished

For the next part of the lick we play this phrase and a higher octave

So I have this cactus in April 2016

and it's very great this cactus Opuntia

So, cactus grew outside all summer, spring and autumn

and as we know autumn is colder

and he went into a hibernation that was outside

and I think they need to rest before flowering

but I moved inside as not to freeze outside

and in the house is warm and the flowering process started

and now I see flower buds but
