Waddup Defenders?!
It's been a really long time since we released a video update for Idle TD
so I think this is a great time to show you what we're currently working on.
Going through the feedback we've received, a lot of players asked us to add more Maps
and that's exactly what we're doing!
You will now be able to explore multiple worlds, each containing 5 different Maps.
The maps have different themes, layouts and bonuses
so a new strategy is required for each of them.
In order to unlock new maps, you will have to collect Crowns
from the Boss creeps that spawn once every 10th wave.
Players have also complained about the game not actually being Idle
rather it being a clicker, which requires too much interaction to play.
For this, we've designed the TAPACITOR, which changes everything!
There's no more infinite tapping.
The Tapacitor has a fixed amount of clicks, which deplete as you tap the creeps.
You will have to wait for it to refill, if you want to tap more.
This means you will have to optimize your Tap pacing
and only use it when it offers a strategic advantage.
The upside of this change is that damage dealt by tapping will now remain constant.
No matter how much HP a creep has, it will always takes the same amount of taps to destroy it.
Snailiens for example require 7 Taps to die
but each enemy has a different requirement, depending on its type.
Forget about the Tap damage, and invest those coins into what matters most, upgrading towers!
Speaking of Towers, we've made some changes in how you interact with them on the map.
Until now, players would have to go to a different screen in order to build or upgrade towers,
which broke the flow of the game.
To build a new tower, simply select an empty slot on the map
and chose which one you want to get.
Upgrading it is as simple as pressing a button.
To move towers around, simply drag and drop them anywhere you want.
Due to the new Tapping mechanic, we had to remove some Skills
but we've added some new categories to replace them.
Besides Tapping Skills, you can now also upgrade your Towers & Idle Income.
We also have a new Booster section which hasn't been implemented yet
which will give various boosters for an hour.
We're also adding more creeps to the game.
There's the fluffy Ball Dragon which can avoid both ground & magical towers.
The Lich King which buffs the HP of surrounding units
and there's also the Trojan Snail which drops Snailiens when destroyed
and many other wacky creatures!
The Ghost and Guardian can be pretty frustrating creeps
so they're getting nerfed in this update as well.
The Guardian's Shield has a new mechanic, allowing towers to damage it as well.
You can still Tap it to instantly drop its Shield
but the towers can now also shoot at it.
Now, it's common knowledge that Ghosts are made of ethereal goo
so physical matter can't touch them.
Ghosts were only vulnerable to Tapping, but magical towers can now damage them as well.
