Hello! It's Ann from Veggie Magnifique, and today I wanted to make a video to tell you about my summer plans.
I'm going to a yoga teacher training in India in the Himalayas.
I just wanted to share this with you because, a) I'm excited, and b) what this means perhaps for Veggie Magnifique.
So a little bit of background... I have been practicing yoga for about 15 years actually,
and I love it. Love the practice. I've tried lots of different kinds of yoga over the years...
I never necessarily planned to become a yoga teacher... I was doing other things and whatnot,
but you know, life happens! And I never planned to study holistic nutrition either,
and it has been one of the most life-changing things that I've done!
So, I had an aha moment and realized that this was the right thing to do.
It's an intensive 200-hour program, so it's going to be a whole month of doing yoga twice a day,
and drinking tea, and eating vegan food -- which sounds amazing,
but of course it's going to be very intense... but I'm really excited for this because: a) I can deepen my practice,
but also, actually, my partner and I want to travel -- we want to vagabond a bit before we procreate,
and so this will be a skill that I have in my back pocket that I can potentially use to earn income abroad,
or wherever we're traveling. And... signing up for this yoga teacher training is a big step --
Right? And... a big decision. But I have to say that it feels so good to follow my intuition.
And following my intuition has really been life-changing for me.
So I followed my intuition to move to Paris, totally changed my life...
I followed my intuition to study holistic nutrition, which totally changed my life.
And so I'm just... I'm going to India, to study yoga because it feels right.
And I want to encourage you as well if you have a dream, or you have a hunch of something that you feel that you need to do...
Do it. Do it now.
If you feel like you want to travel or if you feel like you want to study something...
Do it. Because life's too short to just keep umming and ahhing about something. Just just do it.
Chloe and I really recommend that you follow your dreams -- Veggie Mafnifique has been a huge dream of ours,
and has been super life-changing so we're big believers in following your dreams.
So in preparation for the yoga teacher training, I've been geeking out with this yoga deck, and the learning the name of the postures in sanskrit.
Ahdo mukha svanasana -- downward-facing dog.
So there's all these different postures in this deck so I've been kind of geeking out and doing flashcards like I am in school which is fun,
like I love studying and I love having a goal and an objective in mind.
There's something really cool about learning new things especially as an adult.
Like we think, 'okay I went to school when I was a kid, I learned and now I work,"...
And it's kinda like, Well, actually... one of the true beauties of life, I think, is continued growth,
and so I'm excited to learn this whole new skill, and be able to exercise a profession thanks to this training.
Wow, like, I'm expanding my horizons and I'm so excited.
So we'll see how it goes... I will keep you posted. Definitely check out our Instagram stories,
because I will be able to share a lot easier that way. I'm really looking forward to sharing yoga with you,
so if this is something that you would be interested in.... for example, if you'd like to practice yoga with me,
once I get back and I am a yoga teacher, let me know in the comments below.
Also if you're interested in what it's like to do an intensive yoga teacher training, let me know,
and I'll be sure to share my experience -- especially once I get back.
But I also want to say that I'm going to just strive to be fully present in the experience,
and not think too much about social media or filming.
I'll do my best to film as much as I can, and let you know how it went,
and my thoughts and takeaways from the whole experience, cuz the truth is I really don't know what to expect!
Because I've never done it before. I mean I've done research. I researched a school that seemed to be the best fit,
and they have like excursions on the weekends.
Of course I'm also looking forward to doing this in India because, you know, it's the birthplace of yoga,
and the staff is largely Indian, and just having that connection with a different culture,
and also something that is so important to their culture. I'm just so excited.
I'm so excited. So if you are excited about yoga, and if you're interested in this definitely give this video a thumbs up.
