Waching daily Jul 31 2018

Arsenal are in the midst of a summer of change which was kicked off by Unai Emery's appointment as Arsene Wenger's successor

That has beckoned the arrivals of Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Matteo Guendouzi at the Emirates

Arsenal are in no mood to slow down with just over a week to go until the transfer window slams shut until January

And they've had their sights on Corbo, who's emerged as one of Italy's brightest defensive prospects in the past couple of years

Italian newspaper La Repubblica indicate Arsenal's interest in the Under-20 international has been mirrored by that of a clutch of clubs

Serie A sides Fiorentina, Juventus and Sassuolo have all had their eye on Corbo during his rise

While Bayern Munich took the 18-year-old on trial last season to have a closer look at how he's developing

However, they have all been beaten to the punch by Bologna, who are said to have struck a deal with Spezia

La Repubblica claim Bologna are poised to hand over £2m (€2.2m) for Corbo, with £1

1m (€1.2m) to be paid immediately. Corbo was apparently in Bologna yesterday to train with his prospective new team-mates

And the centre-back is due to link up with Filippo Inzaghi's senior squad once Mino Raiola's agency finalise his switch

Arsenal have also shown interest in Freiburg's Caglar Soyuncu as they've sought to bolster their defence this summer

Freiburg manager Christian Streich is confident the Turkey international is staying put though

"We plan completely with him," said Streich. "And everything else, that's not what we're dealing with!"

PEC News: Cat Poop Parasite Could Reduce Our Fear of Failure - Duration: 1:01.

I'm Wright Seneres.

A mind-controlling parasite found in cat feces may give

people the courage they need to become entrepreneurs, according to researchers

at the University of Colorado. People infected with the Toxoplasma gondii

parasite are more likely to major in business and to have started their own

businesses than non-infected people.

The parasite, which makes rodents

unafraid of cats

may be reducing a fear of failure in people,

according to Stefanie Johnson of the University of Colorado.

For a cat's perspective, we turn

to Tootsie the Cat. Your thoughts?

1987 God's Love We Deliver on CNN Business News - Duration: 2:25.

Live from New York! [HOST WILLIAM HARTLEY]: On Friday, the Food and Drug Administration

approved the first prescription drug for AIDS. It is called AZT. It's made by a

British drug company's American subsidiary, Burroughs Welcome. It's not a

cure, but it does prolong life. Jan Hopkins is here with the story of a

volunteer organization that is also providing relief for AIDS victims. It's a

group, by the way, started by a Wall Streeter. [HOST JAN HOPKINS] Good morning, Bill. We've been

hearing a lot about insider trading scandals on Wall Street about power and

greed. This is a story about Wall Street good guys. Last July, 29-year-old Jane

Best quit her job as financial advisor at Sanford C. Bernstein. She wanted to

devote all her time to the nonprofit firm she co-founded. It's purpose: deliver

meals donated by Manhattan restaurants to AIDS victims. [JANE BEST] I took out a bank loan

and I had some savings from having worked, and lived on that for about six

months before I even had any income at all. [JAN HOPKINS] Fifty volunteers including, three

from Best's old Wall Street firm, answer phones, line up restaurants and make

deliveries. Their efforts are backed by contributions from individuals and firms

including Sanford C. Bernstein. [JANE BEST] I think there's also a revolution taking place

in terms of values in people in my generation for sure in their 30s and

older and younger realizing that money is not going to bring you happiness. [HOST JAN HOPKINS] For

Jane Best, happiness these days is bringing good food to terminally ill

AIDS victims. [GOD'S LOVE CLIENT] Now the appetite's coming back and it's so nice to have good

food that you don't have to cook yourself. [HOST JAN HOPKINS]: As Jane Best

says, "There are different kinds of wealth." The kind she has is a gift from AIDS

victims: that's an appreciation for each moment

of life. Bill? [HOST BILL HARTLEY] It's a inspiring story, Jan, did what she learn on Wall Street

help her in any way? [HOST JAN HOPKINS] Yes, it helps her every day. The selling skills that she

learned on Wall Street she's able to sell restaurants to give meals because

they can't deduct them. And the financial skills she's able

to use in organizing the money and organizing the organization and using

the money, investing the money, that is contributed by individuals and

corporations.

1996 God's Love on Channel 2 News with Storm Field - Duration: 8:44.

Oh great, terrific,

As a matter of fact this morning, where we are visiting,

is God's Love We Deliver,

it's down here on the edge of SoHo,

well Little Italy is down the street here,

and we're going to take you inside just a little bit

and show you the folks inside already working

to deliver meals to homebound AIDS patients,

people who have HIV who are not able to cook for themselves

or to help themselves in that way,

and they provide nutritious meals and guidance

for these folks and they have been helping thousands of people

throughout the, since 1985 when it started.

We'll come back and tell you more about it

and show you what's going on and put me to work.

It's time to check in with Storm.

Well, it looks like he's loose right now in somebody's kitchen.

That's right,

I am in the kitchen of God's Love We Deliver.

These are some 2,500 volunteers working together

to provide help for homebound victims of HIV,

AIDS patients, people who who are dealing with the problem

but are also unable to get out and shop for food

to make food for themselves, so this organization,

since 1985 has been dedicated to developing and

providing them with menus and with food -

you can see some of the things that are being provided today,

we're going to tell you more about it.

They're actually putting me to work today.

Good morning Cindy, good morning Steve,

good morning everyone!

We're here in the kitchens of God's Love We Deliver.

Take a look over here.

Lizzy is in charge of the special foods for clients who

cannot eat the regular food that they prepare here

for most of their clients' specialty foods.

This is a large, large vegetable dish that she's making.

This is more than we normally...

...more than I see in my house!

Well the latest on the traffic I mean,

right now with Eileen Marchesi Cohen

in a quiet morning thus far - still that way, Eileen?

No Storm, it's not!

Let's go to Storm Field, who is in the kitchen. Good morning, Storm.

Good morning, Cindy. Good morning, Steve.

Good morning, everyone!

We're in the kitchens of God's Love We Deliver.

It's a group that's dedicated to providing food and

nutritional service to those who are unable

to provide for themselves - folks who are homebound,

unable to shop for themselves, cook their own foods.

People who have, their clients mostly have,

are HIV victims, HIV clients is what I like to call them.

What they're doing right here is putting together

some soup that is going to be part of the package

of food that's delivered to

the folks at home and take a look at this,

this is fascinating, in the kitchen throughout

there are these tiles with names on them

and some of them have hearts on it?

Some of them are just the names themselves.

These are for donations,

these are in memory of someone who has passed away

because of AIDS, and all of these are covering the

piles and islands that are holding up the entire building,

so in effect the donations and the memory

of all these people are supporting the entire building,

the entire group of God's Love We Deliver.

It's really quite nice. You can actually buy a tile

if you like for $250, which is quite reasonable.

In the next, you'll probably see me doing some work

because Michael McCarthy, the executive chef here

has decided that as long as I'm here

and dressed appropriately I have to go to work.

Latest on our traffic which, as always

these mornings seems to be getting worse as the hours go along,

Elieen Marchesi calling - Eileen?

Thank you Storm.

Time to check trapping weather together on the tooth.

You smell something good?

I do! I think Storm's cooking!

I think he's in the kitchen again!

Yeah, try we're hearing God's Love We Deliver

down in the SoHo area where every morning

every day from

early in the morning till late at night

volunteers are in here providing and

preparing meals for people, the clients, who have HIV

and are unable to get out themselves

and make food for themselves and nutritious meals.

This is applesauce and it is...

...too bad you don't have Smell-O-Vision,

as Nick can show you it is beautiful.

This is all homemade,

and over here, also applesauce,

but this applesauce is just a little bit different.

You know, there are a number of people who have HIV

who are unable to eat a, a standard diet,

and need something special,

and Liz Borden is the special chef

who provides those meals and kind of makes something up

extra special for them to,

provide to their needs,

or weather, we're going to tell you more about God's Love We Deliver.

Let's talk about weather right now

That's the latest on that. I know traffic seems to be

getting worse and worse. Eileen Marchesi Cohen

with maybe some good news, Eileen?

Please!

Okay, a little bit of good news.

Let's start things out with Storm.

Now Storm, Cindy's gonna go to the US Open later on today,

she wants to know what she should wear.

Preferably not something like what you've got on right now.

I think this is a very fashionable look for the US Open!

I think

anything with this logo on is fashionable.

We throw that in there.

Uh, I'm gonna be cooking here at God's Love We Deliver

Later we're making some vegetables,

sauteing a whole bunch. Thank you.

I'll tell you, you think canoeing is good exercise?

This will get you some exercise!

We're putting this together.

These meals are not only for folks, clients who have

HIV, but also if they have children

and they're unable to prepare meals for them,

this group also provides there

and if you think like you want maybe

you wanna volunteer and help out here

in a group like God's Love We Deliver,

we're gonna give you all the information on that

a little bit later - right now, Eileen Marchesi Cohen's

music is playing in my ear.

And let's check out Storm Field!

What's it like out there Storm?

Hey, good morning there Cindy. Good morning, Steve.

We're at God's Love We Deliver, the kitchen's, uh,

big at work, we're cutting out carrots right now.

I'm with Trudy and Ken and Katie and Adrian over there,

all preparing, part of the

450 people who show up here to volunteer every week

to help prepare meals for homebound HIV clients.

Let's take a look at our weather!

That's coming Katie,

no looking at the TV, we gotta get these carrots going.

Trudy, you're doing fabulously,

I gotta cut up some more carrots for Trudy.

I'll have more over here from God's Love We Deliver

a little bit later.

Now, let's go to Eileen with the latest in traffic.

Now Steve Doocy,

Cindy Shu,

and Storm Field with weather.

This is 2 News this morning.

Let's start things out with Storm.

Well, I'm on cilantro patrol now, Steve, Cindy,

and the only way to get these leaves off is to pluck it by hand.

Trudy is again leading the lead.

She's got the fastest fingers, you cannot believe it!

In real life, an artist. We have a creative director

from Saatchi and Saatchi, Katie.

Adrian has actually started her own business.

What's the name of it, Adrian?

The Bow-Wow Bakery.

She's baking things for dogs, and Ken

just peels cilantro and cuts carrots full time.

Great guy!

Got some soup here for 760 people

we're gonna be telling you more about

God's Love We Deliver a little bit later,

Brian here stirring up the soup.

This is 760 portions of soup!

Nothing small in this, Brian.

Going to be back with more information

about God's Love We Deliver, and the weather!

Now let's check on the traffic with Eileen Marchesi Cohen.

Good morning, Storm!

Good morning, Cindy. Good morning, Steve

I'm here on the assembly line,

actually putting together some meals.

This morning is pork and potatoes and some delicious

apple sauce, and again, I'm joined by

volunteers that come in here every single morning

to help provide meals for folks here at

God's Love We Deliver.

Well, we'll continue to put out the meals here

at God's Love We Deliver, we're gonna tell you

more about that a little bit later,

and introduce you to the executive chef

and the director of the organization.

Let's check with the traffic conditions with Eileen Marchesi Cohen.

And let's start with Storm. Good morning, Storm!

I feel like the captain of a of a rowing team here.

We've got people down at this end

ladling the soup in, then it's shaken, not stirred

and your Tupperware party,

it goes on down the line and then passed on to

the guys at the end who are stacking it into

these containers and then it goes on its way

out to the trucks, ready to be delivered

to the folks who need it.

We're in the kitchens of God's Love We Deliver

and the whole idea is to help people

who need the help, need the good nutrition to keep going.

Outside right now are -

So three storms we have to watch.

Traffic now, latest from Eileeen Marchesi Cohen.

Eileen?

Thank you, Storm.

Let's get a Storm who's in the kitchen with

God's Love We Deliver.

That's right, Cindy, Steve, and it has been a fabulous morning.

You know, it's unusual but folks here still packing up

the soup getting ready to go out to those who need it.

This is one of those things where people don't mind

getting up early in the morning. It makes them feel good,

alive to be able to help others.

It's great!

If you would like to be one of the volunteers,

here's the number to call: 212-294-8100.

Trust me,

you won't be sorry about this.

All you need is a commitment of three hours a week.

You can spare that.

So enjoy it, bring lots of sunscreen with you.

Latest on the traffic, Eileen Marchesi Cohen.
