Hi there, its Ed with all the latest from the City of Port Adelaide Enfield.
This week we'll show you how we've made improvements to all of our sites to allow
a quick response during an emergency, Doggy Day on the Green is back this weekend,
take a look at what is hiding underneath the roads in Kilburn, and more.
We're always looking for ways to improve the safety of people who use council facilities.
Sudden cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere and at any time, which is why we're
pleased to now have automatic defibrillators at ten of our key sites, including libraries,
community centres and the Civic Centre.
Chances of survival decrease by 10% for every minute that passes without CPR and defibrillation
and council staff across our sites have undertaken training with St John SA to ensure that they
can respond to an incident should the need arise.
Join us at Point Malcolm Reserve in Semaphore Park for a fun, free day out with your four-legged
friends on Saturday 4th of August.
We've teamed up with the City of Charles Sturt for another Doggy Day on the Green.
We'll have a range of activities on the day, including dog training demonstrations, behaviourist
talks and pet stalls, as well as food and drink vendors.
Find out more at www.charlessturt.sa.gov.au/DoggyDayontheGreen Drainage and stormwater works are well underway
in Blair Athol as part of the $6 million upgrade of stormwater facilities and a new open space,
which form part of the North Arm East Stormwater Management Plan.
Once competed, you won't know it's there, as most of the infrastructure is hidden out of sight,
beneath the road.
When we are finished, localised flooding will be reduced around Marmion Avenue, Grand Junction
Road, Baker Street and industrial areas around Gepps Cross.
Council elections are coming up in November and voting is open to a broad range of people,
so if you live or own a business in Port Adelaide Enfield, you are eligible to vote.
