Waching daily May 16 2017

Hello! and Welcome to our course "Practical IoT

with Raspberry Pi": In this course

you will learn the basics to do gorgeous applications

to control and monitor your devices

and your environment, that is,

to create "things" that connect to the Internet of things

The Internet of Things is the next digital revolution

through which billions of connected things

will transform our lives, comfort and security,

provide better health-care

and increased independence,

and address societal challenges.

Currently there are nearly five billion

connected things,

and there is an estimation to reach fifty billion by 2020.

Samsung CEO predicted in the previous

Consumer Electronics Show that by 2017,

90% of all Samsung hardware

will be Internet-connected.

And in 2020 every Samsung product

will be part of the Internet of things,

no matter whether it's an air purifier

or a vacuum cleaner.

But why is the IoT so important?

well, IoT will connect many things

of our daily live to the Internet.

As an example, a coffee machine,

so you can create your coffee

with your phone, a refrigerator

that detects spoiled food

and send you a warning message,

a temperature sensor for the food

that tells you when the turkey is ready…

And, that's only the beginning!

Imagine all lights of a city connected to the internet

so they can be switched on only when needed.

How much energy could be saved!.

Or the cars connected to the internet

so the traffic can be regulated

in real time to avoid traffic jams!

The IoT, combined with the cloud,

big data and artificial intelligence technologies

will allow to develop new intelligent applications

that will make our cities Smart.

And how is it possible?

Several key points have made this possible

cheap sensors and microprocessors

ubiquitous wireless coverage,

cheap bandwith and smartphones,

amongst others.

Ok, so let's get back to the course.

In this course you will learn

how to create one thing in the internet of things.

How? First, you will learn the basics

of the Raspberry Pi, the development board

that we have chosen for this course.

the Raspberry Pi

is a very cheap computer

that can run powerful applications.

It costs about 35€

has built in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules

and several input and output ports to connect

other devices as sensors and actuators.

you will learn how to use sensors

to monitor the environment

and upload this data to servers

in the Internet, where you will be able

to access your data from everywhere

and even share your data.

You will also learn how to control actuators

so they will do whatever you

command from a galaxy far far away!

You will be able to know

the temperature and humidity of your home

and change the thermostat

if someone has entered your garage

and activate an alarm

or if your plants need water and water them

the course is divided in six modules.

In the first module you will learn the basics

of the Raspberry Pi

and its operating system: Raspbian.

in the second module you will learn the basics

to make programs in python, the language

you will be programming in this course,

very simple but powerful!

In module 3 you will learn the basics

of Internet, so you can do amazing stuff

getting and sending data to your Raspberry.

and in module 4 you will learn how to connect

devices to your Raspberry

like a temperature sensor

a camera or a motor

and how to use them.

Module 5 will be dedicated

to learn how to make use of this data

but using interfaces.

In first place web interfaces,

to host your data and access them everywhere.

And in second place mobile apps,

to access data and control your pi

from your cell phone.

finally, in module 6 you will demonstrate

all you have learned by developing

a final project: a weather station!

Good luck! And we hope you enjoy the course!

White Widow Autoflowering CBD feminized marijuana strain by Dinafem - Duration: 1:19.

Hello everyone.

This is Jásminka, from Dinafem Seeds.

Do you wanna meet our cannabis strains?

Then stay with me, as I´m introducing you

the White Widow Auto CBD on this video.

White Widow Auto CBD comes from the cross

of a White Widow Auto and an Auto CBD.

As you can see, it has plenty of side branches.

This is the heritage of her mother: White Widow.

This is an autoflowering plant,

very productive and vigorous, but with the benefit

that it flowers really fast: it will grow in 75 days.

The smell is fruity, fresh and floral.

As it happens with her mother, White Widow,

it has a very physical effect.

But, because it has a high CBD content,

it is the perfect option for a peaceful resting.

Did you like our White Widow Auto CBD?

Then get more information on our website

and leave your comments below.

Thanks for having the Dinafem Girls.

And remember that we'll be waiting for you

on our Social Media.

See you there!

MOOC Technical Drawing for Mechanical Engineering - Duration: 5:28.

Hello, in this video we are presenting the MOOC Technical Drawing for mechanical engineering

This video is developed by Polytechnic University of Madrid in the platform Miriadax

Three professor will be with you along the course, myself: Ana Luz Rubio Moreda

professor of English Applied to Science and Technology

and Rosa María Scala and José María Cabanellas, both of them professor of Technical Drawing at the University Polytechnic of Madrid

Why this course? Why a course of technical Drawing for Mechanical Engineering?

Basically because Technical Drawing is an international language for designers, engineers, manufacturers

and the fact that it is in English is because English is still an international language for the same things

The course is intended for students in their last years of their High School

and also for undergraduate students in the field of engineering, mechanical engineering

design and manufacturing but it is also for professionals in the same fields

The objective of the course is to train students in the tools and the mechanisms and tools for both

drawing a plan, a plane, sorry and interpreting a drawing, a technical drawing

both an individual piece or an assembly, a mechanical assembly

In this sense Rosa Maria will explain what a mechanical assembly is and José María will deal with the individual part

Thank you Ana Luz

I will be responsible of the modules concerning mechanical assembly drawings

Why mechanical assemblies are important? Because we use them every day

A hinge for example for a door, or a tap, or a tool you have at home for DIY

or something more complicated like an engine we deal with them every day

So to know how these assemblies work and to understand and be able to manufacture them

we need to know how parts fit with each other

This information must be given in an assembly drawing

These drawings have standards and rules to be able to draw these assemblies or to be able to understand how they work

We will present in this course these important standards and important contents of assembly drawings

On the other hand, these assemblies use standard parts like bolts, screws

gears, bearings and these standard parts have their own standards, international standards with dimensions and important parameters

We will explain these parameters, these dimensions and what is more important

their relationship with other parts in the mechanical assembly

Thank you very much Rosa Maria

As we have just seen assemblies are made by individual parts

we are going to explain in modules 3, 4 and 5 that deal

with the analysis and representation of individual parts

In module 3, first we are going to see Constructive Solid Geometry, CSG

which is a methodology that allows us to analyze and to get the correct way for the representation of the part

Then we are going to study the different elements that compound a part drawing

that is, views, cuts, title block and so on

We are going to follow in this module with showing the importance of international standards

that rule us in the way of making a well done part drawing

In module 4 we are studying the mechanical features

what are a special grouping of basic geometries that run a specific function in the part

Then we are going to see the most common features and the international standards that concern these features

Then we are going to study tangent, angular and repetitive features

how we must analyze them and how we must represent them

In the last module, the fifth module, we are going to study the advanced procedures for manufacturing a part

that is, welding, dimensional and geometrical tolerances

Thank you Jose Maria, thank you very much, we will hope you will join our MOOC and we will waiting for you, thank you
