We used to get water using 5 wind mills and 1 "Lister" motor,

which pumped 7,000 liters per hour.

But this dieselpump is 12 km away from where we live.

So every time we needed to turn it on, it was very troublesome.

And when it was raining it became even more complicated.

So we decided to install Solar Pumps,

just to try, because they were unknown in this region.

These Solar Pumps were installed 7 months ago.

And from that moment on, we haven't had any problems with water.

The wind breaks down the mill wheels and rod suckers.

4 years ago, wind overthrew 3 of 5 mills.

and the mills that remained standing up, also must be repaired.

Calling up a mill repairer, whether he is good or bad,

costs a lot of money.

And maybe the mill is repaired today in the morning, and tomorrow it breaks down again.

Who ever have had a mill knows what I'm talking about.

With Solar Pumps there are not wheather problems at all.

We tested solar modules on hail and wind storm,

on 2nd march of this year, 2017.

and we had not any problem at all.

Everything kept running normal,

So you could keep on sleeping a nap without any worries

or go on holidays if you prefer.

I always had a wish to do something important for God.

I am in the right formation, work and place for me.

This is the life that God made me for.

During the day I have gratitude towards God, so that I can talk to people

about the love of God, about the Gospel.

When my father was dying of cancer, he told me that

it is a greatest blessing in his life that one of his daughters --me--joined to the convent"

he said that it is like a gift that he can give to God.

The mother Teresa of Avila's quote,

"Let nothing disturb you, let nothing frighten you.

God alone suffices".

In our congregation, we only teach.

Many of us the sisters are teachers at the Catholic schools from grade school to university.

My hobbies: when I have time, I love to take a walk through the mountains, riding a bicycle,

and I love to write stories, poems, letters to my friends and my alumni.

First, find a convent to visit and you can search it online.

You can visit convents in Phoenix or anywhere else.

It's important to tell your parents on what's on your mind,

they have wisdom about God's things and they can help.

I was created to be a religious sister (nun)

The Lord Jesus Christ is like my husband.

And the Pope is like my dad for all eternity, my perfect father.

I am his daughter and his princess.

Consecrated Life

If my lord is calling me, then I think it's good. Also gives me the opportunity to find out what does He wants of me.

When I told my parents, "I would like to know about the religious life".

they startled, so they said, "What? Well, you are wrong!" meaning no.

"Where did you get this idea since our family is not very Catholic?"

"Well", I said, "It's something I feel inside of me and I can't ignore it"

"Fine, you can go but I know that you will come back"

Once I got there I discovered another life. I said, "This is what is mine, this is where I want to follow, and here is where the Lord is calling me"

I had the opportunity to go back home.

When my friends saw me, they were like..."Xochitl, is that you?"

It didn't fit in their minds that there are other options in life. It's because we have always been told "only matrimony",

but it has been very difficult to talk to us about the consecrated life.

But they finally supported me.

This for me is a great blessing as it is for my family and as I believe it is for the church as well.

The most beautiful thing that I have experienced is that

at least my mom has been receiving the sacraments frequently,

but just for being here I discover more about the living God.

It is a mystery to serve God because the sense of God changes everything in your life.

I am happy where I am

because fact that I am here does not mean that I cannot give life.

I give life in a different way.

In the most important way is the spiritual life.

I would tell the girls out there "give yourselves the opportunity to find out if this is your place,"

but I think that you would lose more not trying than not living the experience and finding out once and for all if this is the life you want to pursue

not to be afraid, I think fear can be faced by fighting it.

And if one doesn't try…well, how sad because the only thing we are going to say the day of tomorrow is "if it would've been"

and the "if would've been" doesn't exist.

One time I was praying, I asked the Lord, "What should I do?"

it seems that that He responded, "Why don't you give me your whole life?

Because it matters to me a lot", then I received my answer.

It's just that I had to give my whole life to the Lord as a religious (nun).

The moment when I discover my vocation was at Thomas Aquinas College in Santa Paula, CA.

this moment was very, very clear when I was praying after mass.

And I knew perfectly that I can live like a nun, like a religious.

The correct site will be in the convent for me, then it was the time to find one.

My dad asked me, "and where?" well I do not know or have an idea where I can join.

He said, "there is a convent that you'll like..." --yes, there is a photo of this convent at Nashville.--

"I can take you to Nashville by my plane"

"I do not want it because I want to drive by my own car to visit Memphis and Elvis Presley and …I do not know"

and my dad said, "I want to visit Elvis Presley too" well ok.

I had a boyfriend and he asked me to marry him but I refused because my mind is always about the vocation.

If after 30 days, if God does not call me, then yes.

But in my heart I do not want to marry him, I prefer to be a nun.

No, no, I will never regret it because --What else is there? The things of the world? They will not fill me, He'll fill me.
