The Gunners are interested in taking winger Malcom on a six-month loan deal, according to The Sun

Malcolm joined Barcelona from Bordeaux in the summer after turning down a move to Roma just hours before

The 22-year-old has struggled to secure a first-team spot under boss Ernesto Valverde and is reportedly willing to chance his arm at finding regular football elsewhere

Arsenal are wary of spending big money in this transfer window and a loan deal looks the most likely option for the ex-Brazil Under-23 international with less than a week to go before deadline day

Malcom has made just ONE league start this season - against Real Betis in November - but was hauled off after just 57 minutes as Barca slipped to defeat

His £40million move from France followed an impressive three years with Bordeaux, scoring 23 and assisting 16 goals in 96 appearances in all competitions

Arsenal boss Unai Emery hinted again this week that loan deals may be the club's favoured option in this window, with reports claiming that the Gunners don't have the funds required to complete permanent deals

"This transfer window is not easy to take players that can help us with better performances than the players we have now," Emery said

"The club is working and I spoke with Sven [Mislintat, head of recruitment], with Raul [Sanllehí, the director of football] about different possibilities with players

"They are working but it is not easy to take players that can help us with big performances now

"We are looking, the club is working with the possibility to loan players and if we can take [somebody] for helping us in a different position on the team, then maybe we can

" The Sun indicate Arsenal would consider paying £50m for Malcom, who AC Milan are also keen on, but that permanent move would have to wait until the summer

Arsenal are currently fifth in the Premier League table and six-points behind Chelsea in the race for a top-four spot

Their form has deteriorated in recent months after going 22-matches unbeaten earlier in the season

After defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup, the Europa League is now their only realist chance of silverware this season

Higuain was not registered in time to face Tottenham in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg The striker, who is on loan from Juventus, waves to the camera as Jorginho drives offChelsea had hoped to register Higuain in time for him to face Tottenham in Thursday night's Carabao Cup semi-final second leg at Stamford Bridge, but they missed Wednesday's midday deadline

He is expected to take part in a session at Cobham, although the majority of Sarri's squad will focus on their preparations for their must-win clash with rivals Spurs

'Maurizio Sarri is the coach who, in my career, has got the best out of me as a player,' Higuain told the club's official website following his switch

'He's someone who knew how to work with me, particularly on the emotional side.'That year together was fantastic and in big parts thanks to him, so coming to work with him is very important for me

I'm really happy to have been given the opportunity to do that and I want to get back to that level

'We are hoping he will start scoring straightaway for us but there is more to his game than goals,' Sarri said

'He is a very strong striker and was especially strong during my first season in Naples, he did very well and scored 36 goals in 35 games in Serie A, and 39 in total

'For sure he is one of the best strikers in my career, he has the right experience to play here

'He wants to win all the time, in any situation. As far as failure is concerned, I wouldn't call it that, he still scored nine goals (at AC Milan) and he found himself in a team which is not at the same level as Juventus
