And according to Spanish newspaper Marca, Real will earn a tidy sum from the transfer
According to Marca, Real included a clause in Mariano's sale to Lyon that stated they would earn 35 per cent of any profit made on a future transfer
Sevilla are set to sign Mariano for around £36.2m (€40m) before the Spanish transfer deadline on Friday
Should the deal go through, Marca claim Real Madrid will earn just shy of £9m. The bulk of that will be from Mariano's transfer fee but Real will also earn around £800,000 they are owed for development costs
