Leigh Griffiths has told his critics he'll never tire of proving them wrong. Omitted from Celtic's starting line-up, he climbed off the bench to strike with three minutes left against Rosenborg and give his side a precious opening-night win in their Group B campaign

Warned 24 hours previously by Brendan Rodgers he had to do better to become No 1 for Celtic and Scotland, Griffiths knows he'll never gain universal acclaim from the paying public

But having recently become a Celtic centurion, the forward says he'll continue to revel in silencing his detractors

'I've done it for years. I don't know why people keep doubting me and say I can't score goals on the big occasion,' he said

'I've done it in the Champions League, Europa League, League Cup, Scottish Cup and the league

'There are still people doubting me, saying I can't do this and that. But I keep shutting people up

'I'm judged on how I play and how many goals I score. Ultimately, it's about getting three points for the team and that's what I'm good at

' At pains to state his riposte wasn't aimed at Rodgers, Griffiths added: 'The manager isn't having a go at me

He just said the game is evolving and strikers are doing more running and tracking back

I don't have to prove anything. He sees me day in day out. He knows how hard I work on and off the park

' Celtic looked destined for a frustrating stalemate until Griffiths latched on to Dedryck Boyata's header

'I'm buzzing. I just wanted to come on and make an impact. Before I went on, the manager said when we got the ball wide to make sure I was in the box

'Ultimately, it wasn't really a cross I got on the end of. It was a header from Dedryck

But I was delighted to put it away. 'You could say it's the dream scenario although I'd rather play a bit longer

But it's up to the manager. Asked if he felt the goal made him No 1 striker at Celtic, Griffiths replied: 'I don't think there is going to be a designated No 1 striker

'I think the manager and will chop and change who he goes with depending on the opponent

I need to keep working hard in training and do my job so when I come off the bench or start games I put in performances

' A week after Scotland boss Alex McLeish all but confirmed Steven Naismith as his main striker - a development Griffiths described as a 'kick in the teeth' - the Celtic star insisted: 'What I said was taken out of context

Naisy deserves his place, I'm not disputing that. He's been on fire for Hearts. It's entirely up to Mr McLeish

' Earlier on Thursday, Griffiths was convicted of speeding at a court in Dundee, fined £200 and given three penalty points

Asked if he was concerned he might miss kick-off, he said: 'I wouldn't say I rushed! The management knew what time I was going to get here and I'm thankful for their understanding

'It was one I had to take on the chin. It's done with now. I'm finishing the night on a high

I'll go home and sleep like a baby.' Just 24 hours after warning Griffiths he had to do more to adapt to the modern role of striker, Rodgers insisted he can always rely on the striker

And in reference to off-field distractions, the Celtic boss said: 'He seems to have this in-built brain to deal with all this stuff

Probably a lot of players, what happens in their world can be a real distraction

He learns to deal with it. 'He's a great boy, we all love him and I know I can rely on him, when I put him on the pitch, that he always has the possibility to score

It was a great night for him and the team and our first three points.' On his pre-match criticism of Griffiths, he said: 'It's not just Leigh

Every player needs to improve, especially in the top end of the field. We know Leigh can score goals

You fancy him in a game like that. It was the only chance he had. We got the ball into the box, he anticipated it, and it was a great finish, to hit it into the ground and get the winning goal

'Whether he plays or is on the bench, he wants to play for Celtic. He's got that hunger and he realises that, at 28, when you've got that competition then he has to fight

He does that. 'He is 28 and has signed a four-year deal. We still think there's a lot of improvement he can make

Not just him, but the rest of the players.' For 87 minutes Celtic struggled to break down a Rosenborg side boasting nine wins in their last 11 games

Dogged and organised, the goal came as a relief to a home crowd growing increasingly frustrated

'I was very happy with the goal,' said Rodgers. It was a great win in relation to our spirit in the game and our persistence to keep going to the very end

'We were playing against a Rosenborg side who have won nine games and drawn two since we last faced them to they came with a real high level of confidence and they surprised us in the first 15 or 20 minutes by playing a diamond

'But once we found the balance to defend against that we started to come into the game and created some chances, particularly down the left side

'Without being at the top of our game we kept going and that's what I asked the players to do after the game last week

'We have to find a way of winning when we are not playing as well as we would like and the players did that tonight

' Rosenborg coach Rini Coolen felt his team deserved a point for an organised display

RB Salzburg, Celtic's next opponents on October 4, beat RB Leipzig in the other game and Coolen admitted: 'We are disappointed to lose it in the end

I think we deserved a little more. 'I can be happy and proud of the boys tonight

We had a different game plan than we usually do and it worked pretty well. 'I think we could have done better defensively at the goal

It's a second ball (to Griffiths) and we need to be there. These things make a difference at this level

'

and this is Alex and this is the CMS news let's get on with some

announcement. First thing is this Thursday you'll see these fancy posters

in the hall than in activities on all you need to do is put your first second

and third choice in your planner to remind you where you need to go. Also,

sign in when you get to your WIN choice. Spirit week is next week let's have some S.T.R.O.N.G

leaders tell us what are the days. Hey guess what next week is spirit

week what's spirit week it's a week of spirit, ohhh spooky! Monday is 80's you

have to wear big hair bright colors leg warmers and jean jackets now I don't

know the rest because I was born in the eighties. Tuesday you can show

your true patriotic colors by wearing whatever USA or red white and blue then

Wednesday is sports day so wear sports uniforms

then Thursday groutfit you have to wear all gray. Wear nothing else but grey!

Friday's Panther day that's when the glitter goes in the

halls and never leaves homecoming pants and we all love some good homecoming

pants don't you. Okay bye! Now be prepared for that locker story as promised.

Look at how dirty my locker is that will make it impossible to get to class on time!

Whoa my locker is clean now I can get to class on time! Make sure you keep your

backpack in the back of the locker like pictured here.

Don't keep unpackaged food like eggs or something in a Tupperware container, but

you can keep something that is packaged like skittles or maybe fruit snacks.

Whoa there bucko there's no need to be kicking lockers around here just ask

your teacher for a key just like this one watch how I'm on unlocking the locker

without kicking. Wow! You're also gonna hear about some cool sports info with Sam today.

Hello I'm Sam Hendrickson of the CMS Sports Center today our top story is the

Vikings versus Packers game ended in a tie with a botched field goal attempt by

Daniel Carlson in overtime Aaron Rodgers played throughout the entire game with

an injured knee acquiring several touchdowns before the game ended in

a tie. Kirk Cousins also made an amazing comeback from behind with four amazing catches by Diggs and Theilen.

[music]

There's no school this Friday because it's a teacher work day.

I'm here with Mr. Bakke the new principal and I'm going to be asking a few questions

How you doing Joe? I'm doing great how are you? Excellent! Let's get a high five

buddy! Good yeah! What college did you attend? I went to

Augustana College in Sioux Falls South Dakota it's now called Augustana

University, however. How was that? I loved it! I spent four years there I was an

elementary education student and I also majored in middle middle school

studies so had a really good time played a little basketball while I was there as

well. Okay tell us about the assistant Principal of the Year award. I'm not a

real big person on talking about too much about myself with getting awards

however, I was extremely humbled and honored to be chosen as the Minnesota

assistant Principal of the year and with that there were two conferences that I

attended one in Breezy Point in the Brainerd area and then the other one was

the national principal's conference in Chicago had a lot of fun connecting with

principals throughout the United States it was great. All right were you a

teacher at a different school before Century? I was. I taught five years of

middle school education in Albert Lea Minnesota and I was also the boys

varsity basketball coach and the girls varsity golf coach while I was there.

Okay what is your favorite movie about? Favorite movie of all time hmm

there are many to choose from but probably the first one that comes to

mind is Remember the Titans left side strong side, watch the movie you'll catch

the reference it's really good. Okay plus an excellent story I hear you are a

passionate you are passionate about golfing what is your favorite course to

play. I love playing golf if I could play golf every single day before I came to

school that would be the perfect start to the day. The course that I play an

awful lot is right now I like is Crystal Lake Golf Club. Okay.

How will S.T.R.O.N.G. affect the school and it's students? Well S.T.R.O.N.G. has already

had a very positive effect on our school and I believe that because everybody is

a piece to that puzzle here and it doesn't matter who you are if you are a

student if you are a teacher, if you're the principal, if you are serving lunch,

if you're a custodian, we all have a piece to the S.T.R.O.N.G. puzzle here and a

big goal that we have here this year is having students think of others before

themselves and as a staff we need to model that and when we do we are more

likely to serve each other we are more likely to be thankful for different

things that we do there'll be that respect that will be between us at all

times we'll be organized so we can kind of

plot our way we'll be able to navigate the hallways with different situations

that come and finally the biggest thing is that we'll be able to grow

we'll build a grow academically we're going to get smarter obviously we're

going to grow physically and get taller but then we're going to grow socially

and emotionally as well. What is something about you that

students wouldn't know? Something about me that students don't know well there's

something that some of our sixth graders might not know is that I have a huge

Pez collection which I definitely want to show off to you and what people

usually don't know what the collection is I don't purchase any of them. Students

try to find Pez dispenserss that I don't have and they try

to add those to the collection. So I think that's probably something that

people don't know.

Students and staff were gathered in the gym for a motivational talk by none other than Craig Hillier he is a motivational speaker and has spoken to

over two million people since 1990 during his talk at our school he talked

about his life stories respect and perseverance and how to be a better person.

Be sure to tune in next week, this is the CMS news. Bye!

Be Aware News: Nintendo Direct 9/13/18 - Duration: 2:35.

Hello, I'm here to tell you what was announced in the latest Nintendo Direct, in case you

aren't one of the over two million people who have already watched it.

Nintendo started the direct with a warning that anything to do with Mario and hotels,

will result in a haunted experience.

Nintendo also may have given more evidence that Luigi is in fact dead, and is now a time

traveling ghost.

Nintendo also revealed some stuff about Splatoon 2, and then said if you want to know more,

look it up.

Mega Man is now officially, offcially the Blue Bomber, I guess.

What does he have anything to do with bombs?

It was also shown that in Mario Tennis Aces, a game were you can lose the game if your

rackets break, there is going to be a new character that doesn't use brackets.

Expect a lot of warranted complaining about online September 19th.

In New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, a lore bomb was dropped.

Toadette could now transform into Peahette though a power up.

Now the biggest question about this is…

This that a hat, or this it apart of her head?

Pandas.

Nintendo showed characters in the Mario series playing the Switch and it was very surreal.

Nintendo also talked about their online service, however, the truth is out there.

GET WOKE.

It's all on their website.

Your clouds saves will be erased if you lose your Nintendo Switch Online membership.

Also, games like the fantastic 1-2 Switch, and Splatoon 2 will not support clould saves.

Nintendo also stated that "special offers" would be a thing, but they stated they couldn't

talk about it.

Despite the fact the service launches five days after the direct.

Also despite the fact there is a special offer on their website, and that's not counting the NES

joy-cons that they showed in the direct...

Yeah.

It was also shown that in the world of Pokemon, people and Pokemon can obliterate trees just by

looking at them.

Nintendo also supplied evidence that Mario abuses women.

More on this as it develops.

The world was made aware that Just Dance still lives.

Team Sonic Racing was shown with more amazing dialog like, "Ow.

I didn't like that at all".

It was shown that Final Fantasy is something else.

I mean 15 Pocket Edition HD.

Nintendo also asked people to buy another Switch just to get a smash themed dock and

joy-cons.

It'll probably sell well.

Anyways, I think that was all the main big stuff.

This is something I've never done before, hopefully I got all the facts correct.

Uh, tell me what you think down in the comments below.
