Somber note to start here a Fox News Alert a Hollywood icon creator of the Playboy Empire

Hugh Hefner has died

You

Him chairman and CEO of Playboy Enterprises and David have worked in the

subscriptions department of Esquire magazine until 1952 when he resigned to start his own publication with only

$10,000 he published the first issue of Playboy a nude Marilyn Monroe on the cover when the magazine began in 1953

The female ideal in women's magazines look like somebody's older sister

Even younger Dalls, and we're very corseted, and they had the bullet bras and playboy

From the outset went for a much more natural kind of girl-next-door look

His marriage ended in 1959 and hath converted his Chicago townhouse into the original Playboy Mansion

In

1974 he packed up and headed west moving into the

22,000 square foot house in Los Angeles

That became home base for the Playboy Empire and his infamous swinging parties the latter nineties in the beginning of the new millennium

Are a kind of a resale abrasion in terms of life?

How time flies were having fun playboy reached its 50th anniversary in?

2003 Hugh Hefner and playboy the vanguard of the sexual revolution will forever be remembered

For breaking down barriers and building a unique American Dream well

I hope that I create some small part in the changing of our sexual social values in my time

And I hope that I have and I'm very satisfied with that

In Hollywood I need a Vogel FoxNews

Well as you would expect since the word of Hugh Hefner's passing broke it has been the top trending topic on social media with

condolences pouring in absolutely Carli Shimkus with Fox news headlines 24/7 Sirius XM 115 here with so much reaction

Gene Simmons memorialized him with this picture and said a great man

Queenie on social media also says there's no way Hugh Hefner is in a better place

He certainly didn't have a lot of fun here on earth in a better place

He certainly didn't have a lot of fun here on earth and his life was also pearls full circle

Marilyn Monroe was on the cover of the very first edition of Playboy magazine and Hugh Hefner plans to be

buried right next to her in Hollywood

That is something else

All right Carly, thank you so much. Thank you lot

All right, let's get into some politics now a president Trump

Finally unveiling his long-awaited tax plan designed to put more money in your pocket and now it's up to

Democrats to get on board apparently with the once-in- a-lifetime. That's what they're calling it reform package stripped Jenkins. Yes, I'm sorry go

And you're in Washington DC right with the details that's right, we'll see if it's a once-in-a-lifetime

Text overall as the president says he basically wants to make it simpler and fair for working Americans

He told an audience in Indiana yesterday. It won't actually benefit wealthy Americans like himself

We will ensure that the benefits are focused on the middle class

The working men and women not the highest

income earners

Not the wealthy and well-connected they can call me all they want it's not going to help

I'm doing the right thing and it's not good for me believe me

So what's in it? Let's take a look it doubles the standard deduction to twelve thousand for individuals and 24,000 for married couples

Increases a child tax credit slashes the corporate rate from thirty five percent to 20 percent

Lowers a top bracket for individuals and families from thirty nine point six percent to 35 percent

Collapses the existing seven brackets for individuals down to three lively thirty-five twenty-five

And twelve percent and it eliminates the estate tax or death tax as it's known as well as the alternative minimum tax

GOP leaders embrace the plan as they shift their legislative focus from the failed attempts at repealing and replacing Obamacare to this tax reform and

Urging Democrats as you mentioned to get on board

But their questions over how to pay for it and Democrats like Cinna Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was

Blasting it as nothing more than a tax cut for the wealthy

Under this plan the wealthiest Americans and wealthiest corporations

Make out like bandits while middle-class Americans are left holding the bag

So we'll see if Democrats will get on board the president also later yesterday said that that figure of 20% for corporations?

That new rate is a red line and non-negotiable for him. If there's more of that guys

He wanted 15, so I have a feeling he won't budge on 20

He says he didn't want to budge on that all right Grif. Thanks so much. Thank you. Well kind of

In keeping with that the number of Americans

Struggling to pay their bills on time is on the rise a new study from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau says more than

40% of Americans are now struggling to make ends meet to stay out of debt. That's why

Speaker Paul Ryan says the president's tax plan is exactly what America needs

The middle class are the people who need the tax break people who are low and middle-income?

They're the ones who are literally living paycheck to paycheck who are worried about losing their job or not even going to raise in years

This is about them and not about people who are really high income earners getting a break

Well if the nearly six trillion dollar tax cut passes it would be the biggest in decades

so let's talk a little bit more about President Trump doubling down on why the

National anthem is so important to him in this exclusive interview. You will only see right here on Fox News. It comes ball

That's tonight where the sideline protest could move into the stands is that right Jackie ammonia is joins us now with those details Jackie

What's up, yeah?

It'll be interesting to see what happens tonight the national anthem will be included in the NFL's coverage of the Bears Packers primetime matchup

Tonight and if the Green Bay Packers have it their way fans at Lambeau Field in Wisconsin will join them to make a statement

players including quarterback Aaron Rodgers urging everyone in the stands lock arms and what they're calling unification during the national anthem

Meantime we just learned that the 17 New England Patriots players who kneeled Sunday may be back on their feet before this Sunday

From my understanding. I think we're I think we're all going to stand for that

And on Sunday, yeah

but these

Protests aren't just on the field some members of New York City's City

Council sat stared and even remained stone-cold silent during the Pledge of Allegiance

Then Democratic lawmakers took a knee holding up Colin Kaepernick's Jersey on the steps outside

City Hall there as for the president will he's doubling down

Telling Fox and Friends weekend co-host Pete hagseth in an exclusive interview the NFL should have never let this get this far

They can't have people sitting down or kneeling down during our national anthem

And I saw this a year ago with Kaepernick, and I said, this is a terrible thing

I thought it was terrible and

Then it builds up a little bit and a little bit more and you see what's been happening and then all of a sudden you

See more and more and more

I think it's very disrespectful to our country

And the world's picked it up and guess what most people agree with me and the NFL's in a box

They have to do something about it and of course

We'll have more on that

Interview today on Fox and Friends a lot of people talking about this Heather and Ron look forward to it

See what happens tonight Thursday Night Football exactly all right, Jackie. Thanks so much, so what folks won't know what the weather will be right?

if they're watching those football games

Yeah

Some fall-like weather is moving in or at least is in in the Midwest I've heard right Janice

Our way towards the East Coast as well. We'll talk about that, but first of all let's look at Maria Maria was a hurricane

yesterday

Get you back on your feet in anything else. I need I'm always here to help

The incredible act of kindness by Texans quarterback deshaun Watson

welcome back the a terrifying new warning from the FBI terrorists could use drones to attack American citizens I

Think you do know that terrorist organizations have an interest in using drones

We've seen that overseas already with some growing frequency, and I think the expectation is

It's coming

Director Christopher ray says that the drones could be used to drop small

explosives or

Spray deadly toxins array. Also revealing that there are about 1000 open domestic terrorism

investigations and there have been at least

176 terror related arrests in just the last year

Now a stash house that was packed full of 25 illegal aliens uncovered

I should say illegal immigrants was uncovered near the us-mexico border

Agents were led to the home after arresting three people accused of smuggling illegals in a car in San Juan

Texas everyone in the house was arrested they were from Mexico Honduras and El Salvador

Taking a knee now becoming somewhat the new normal in the NFL this all started last season with Colin Kaepernick protesting police brutality

But does that arguments still stand and where does it stand joining us now to weigh in on?

This is the host for the blaze Lawrence Jones once. Thank so much for coming in this morning

I want to get to a couple quick full screens here real quick to kind of tell the story here

Let's look at the numbers these are African Americans shot by police

In 2015 that number 259 it is down in 2016 down to 233

seventy-one percent

Of that number 233. We're carrying a gun or a knife so obviously 29 percent of

African Americans killed by police are unarmed that is the issue that black lives matter that Colin Kaepernick is says

They're bringing light to but let's go to the next full screen and obviously that is an issue that certainly is an issue and something

That needs to be talked about and I think we all agree on that

But here are black homicide victims in 2016 seven thousand eight hundred and eighty-one

blacks killed in street violence

Killed and that number is up pretty dramatically from 2015 where it was seven thousand thirty-nine

that's up over 800 people eight hundred more people killed in street violence and

The point I'm trying to make here is is it a selective outrage?

Is it you see all of this anger and all of this outrage at officers?

that

Committed some sort of an act or killed an unarmed black man, and we understand that

But why does the black lives matter seem to care about any of the black people killed on the streets of Chicago?

I mean when when you get six or eight killed a weekend? Yeah, so we have two issues we have

You know a community with a relationship problem with the police right now

And we can talk about especially when it comes to police brutality when it's warranted

I think what's appropriate to talk about that

But when you have the representative of the movement Colin Kaepernick that depicted all cops as pigs by wearing those socks

Then it can be problematic, but if you're talking about black lives, and it's truly about black lives

Then it shouldn't just be about police brutality. It should be black laws, but I'm sorry black lives in general

you know that it's police brutality or

black people killing each other I

Just I don't understand why that's not a subject why is it that black lives matter can't be bothered with I mean you have

Countless young people killed in in major cities in this country every single day a lot of the times by gang on gang violence

Right and nobody seems to care

I mean they don't they don't bat an eye over that and a lot of times

These are innocent kids walking to the school bus stop getting hit by an errant bullet nobody cares until it's an officer robbed this is

The result of this being a political issue now, it's not about people

It's not about or any truly black lies because it was we could talk about you know violence economics a poor education

If it was truly about improving the lives of black folks

Then those issues would be at the forefront just by judging by the numbers, right

But it's not it's it's one political side of the hour

Using this as a way to win vote this front instead of bringing people together like I said, I'm for criminal justice reform

Republicans are actually leading the way on there and for improving the

My community in the police, but you cannot have selective outrage

And I think this is why the movement is lacking

Credibility if you include both of the issues and talk about let's come up with some solutions and come together and not let

This group against us then you

Really care about black then you care about all black lives loss

And not just the ones that are taken that are taken by police

Especially right you know when you're talking about Colin Kaepernick ride the pig

Situation how would he like it if all cops said hey black people are criminals right and so to make that stereotype

About solution in a practical way well said Morris, thanks bro coming on this morning

All right still coming up the time right now is almost twenty minutes after the top of the hour and an American flag

Purposely put on the floor at a high school sparking a firestorm of the principal now defending it saying that this is not

Disrespect. It's art and

Forget planeload the airline launching in flight text messaging this weekend

Okay welcome back lawmakers ready to grill tech giant

Facebook ads that they sold and how they could have impacted the

2016 election still talking about this tracee carrasco from our sister network Fox Business here with the story good morning. Good morning guys

Yeah the Senate intelligence committees asked Facebook to testify in a hearing on November first about what role Russia may have played in the

2016 presidential election

They've also asked Twitter and Google to participate in this hearing now as far. This all goes back to those ads that

Russian company purchased from Facebook for

$100,000 now last week Facebook said they turn over all of that information

But some on the panel have been pushing for this here

And so we'll see what happens all right, so a lot of people have been waiting for this need the iPhone 10

But may not be available until February. They have to wait awhile. Yeah, you know the iPhone 10 presale is October 27th

It should be in stores by November 3rd, but because of the delays with

Production and the high demand you may not be able to get one until late January or February

Now they're saying there's some issues with the manufacturing of the display technology, and then also that facial recognition

Which is how you use the phone?

They're having some issue getting some of the parts, so you know if you're looking to get one right away

You're probably gonna have to wait

Well, that's a bummer. Everybody's super excited about that iPhone X everybody what's that eight? I don't know

The iPhone 10 is its iPhone - yes, yeah, what do I have a seven?

I thought the next one was e8 well. It is already out and then the 10 is the

anniversary

a

Really cool one

Expensive one right yeah. We'll go to Delta flight Delta all the time

We're going to talk about texting on a flight that would make the flight a lot quicker

You know you're going to be able to text in flight using their internet service. You're going to be

Why Trump is a Catfish (and why that is good news for us) - Duration: 16:23.

Do you know Steven Pinker and his 2011 book, „The better Angels of our Nature"?

Oh god, this is far too much text!

I mean, I will take ages to get this all filmed. Damn!

I think I have an idea...

Uhhhh. What was that?

Ah! Alright. This is better. Lets beginn.

Do you know Steven Pinker and his 2011 book, titled „The better Angles of our Nature"?

At the very least you should have heard about it by now, as famous intellectuals

like Richard Dawkins, Lawrence Krauss and now even Bill Gates have endorsed

his work and the core idea behind it: That despite how we feel about it,

statistical evidence proves that violence is in decline both on a large scale

of thousands of years, as well as on a small scale, when you look at the last

centuries or even the last decades.

Not that it matters much, but I also highly recommend the book.

Or, if you're in a hurry, watch Steven's TED talk on the subject matter.

You can find the link in the description below.

Seriously, watch it right now.

I will wait here.

Its just 20 minutes of your time and might change

the way you look at the world and humanity forever.

Or it won't.

Because sometimes what we feel inside is so strong that we will not

let cold and hard facts take it away from us.

I learned of Steven's book and his thesis a long time ago and spoke to many

people about it since.

And their reaction ranged from raising serious doubts to open denial.

Or just plain old ignorance and changing of the subject.

After all, everybody knows that the world is a shithole, right?

There's violence in the schools, violence in the streets,

each day thousands of people die in terrorist attacks...

and the internet!

The internet is this horrible place, where every asshole can freely

speak its mind, exposing just how degenerated humanity is.

In short:

We all like to think back to the "good old times" of our childhood,

when the world was a better place.

Less chaotic.

Less violent.

Well, maybe not less violent.

But in a more controlled way as today.

It is almost as if we need this feeling of insecurity about the present

to make it through the day.

So we need this feeling that the world is getting worse.

And, speaking about which – how about Steven Pinker and the people

like Dawkins, who support him?

Aren't they a part of the "elitist" technocrats, who treat the rest of humanity as children

and want to take the world out of our hands?

Maybe Steven's book is no more than one such attempt to lure us into a false

sense of security.

I haven't actually heard that argument yet, but I can easily see it

become the reactionary motto of anti-intellectuals like those supporting

Trump and other Trump-like entities in many other countries.

But lets, for the moment, assume that Steven is right.

According to his research, the world is becoming a better place every day.

Humanity is improving.

But how does that work?

What drives this progress?

Its hard to say.

Steven mentions a couple of possible reasons, but to this day

he doesn't know the proper answer himself.

Maybe its a little bit of all of them?

The one major reason that my money is on, is precisely our feeling that the world

is going to shit.

Thanks to the internet today we know more about the world

around us than ever before, and this knowledge frightens us

and makes us fear for the worst.

There is so much evil in the world, so much corruption, and so much injustice.

Some of us might break apart in the face of this terrible truth,

but the rest of us as a society are forced to engage these problems.

Because the first step in overcoming a problem is to accept that it exists.

No lie can survive for long in the headwind of an approaching hurricane.

So let's go all aboard the Pinker Ship and set sail for the open sea.

I am sailing, I am sailing.

Home again 'cross the sea.

I am sailing, stormy waters.

To be near you, to be free.

Under the youtube music video of that famous Rod Steward song there is this

comment by a woman telling us the sad story of her father,

who always listened to that song

and that she regrets not giving him that last hug before he passed away.

It is very touchy and received over 500 likes as well as

many comments of the type you would write.

Warm and comforting.

Gives you back some hope in humanity.

But is it really true?

Is the poster really a woman?

Did her father really listen to that song all the time?

And what does it mean, that he didn't receive that last hug?

We all can picture that, but I'm sure we all picture it differently.

Like the song itself, the comment has the power to stir up emotions

and bring tears to your eyes.

Now, I am not saying that the comment is fake.

It is probably real.

But there is no way to prove it one way or the other.

It could be a so-called "Catfish".

The term "Catfish" was coined in the 2010 documentary film by the

same name, and subsequent ongoing TV series.

There, a catfish is basically a person who creates a fake identity on the internet

to trick another person into falling in love with them.

But I want to look at this term in a broader sense, based on how it was coined.

they used to take cod from Alaska all the way to China.

They're keeping the vats in the ship, and by time the codfish

reached China, the flesh was was mush and tasteless, so this guy came up with

the idea that if you put these cods into these big vats, put some catfish in with them

and the catfish will keep the card agile,

and there are those people who are catfish in life and they keep you on your toes.

They keep you guessing, they keep you thinking, they keep you fresh, and I thank

God for the catfish, because we would be droll, boring and dull, if we didn't have

somebody nipping at our fins

And now, after telling you about

a) the catfish phenomenon as well as b) the statistically proven fact that violence

is in decline, let me try to connect the dots.

Through the internet, through fake news, both real fake news and news that is accused

to be fake news but is really real, through a lying president that is accusing

other people of lying all the time, we have been forced to grow up as a society.

20 years ago the news told us what is going on in the world.

In their newsrooms the journalists decided what we, the public,

should know and should not know, and only few and brave cases of investigative

journalism would break through that barrier sometimes.

This order has been turned on its head completely.

Today, everybody and their cat can produce news,

with no accountability whatsoever.

And if you are too stupid to question just about everything, you will be lured

into a set of opinions and behaviors as they want you to, to further their political goals.

In other words: The number of catfish in the tank has increased to such a degree,

that not a single one of us cod has the luxury of staying in one place

for too long.

They force you to stay on your toes, think very carefully

for yourselves before you trust anyone.

Your own president of the United States is a catfish!

But when you turn away from him and stop listening to his lies,

as you should, be aware of those standing against him.

Ask yourselves: What are their hidden agendas?

But first, everyone, lets thank president Donald Trump for being a catfish!

Because we need to be critical and distrustful, always checking the facts.

And double-check them.

And check them again.

Because already a considerabubble number of all twitter accounts, facebook accounts

and youtube accounts are fake.

They are part of large bot networks, controlled by god-knows who

to create the false image of large crowds of people with certain ideas and ideologies,

who don't really exist!

And those bots are getting smarter by the minute,

until we have no way left of determining whether they are real or not.

And then there's the next step.

Already we have long-dead actors appearing in modern movies,

perfectly recreated in their appearance and speech.

How long until this technology spills over into the propaganda camp,

for some hyper-realistic orwellian horror?

No more than a couple of years.

And if by that time you still trust what you see with your own eyes,

then you are stupid!

Then you haven't been bitten by enough catfish to keep you

alive and cautious.

So, with all that said, how can I still believe that humanity is improving?

Shouldn't I believe the opposite?

No!

Because this catfish phenomenon is one of the things that help us improve!

Do you remember the age of enlightenment?

Good.

Because its still going on.

First it was about the intellectuals, coming of age,

then it was the nations coming of age.

And what a painful process that was!

And now its about the rest of us!

We cannot stay children any longer, we all need to reach adulthood as well.

Dare to think for yourselves!

Dare to think for yourselves!

Its no longer optional, its now mandatory.

You can either dare to think for yourselves or become a pile of

mushy flesh, like your predecessors.

The thing I want you to take away from this rant is to be critical,

don't trust anything you see or hear, double-check, and think for yourselves!

Don't just pretend like you do.

I know you're all very good at pretending.

No, I want you to actually think for yourselves.

Because here comes the rub: we don't have much time.

I already mentioned the bot networks.

You think they are Russian hackers?

You're wrong.

They are artificial intelligences.

Like the one that became the best Go player of all time.

Or the one that became the best Jeopardy player of all time.

Or the one that is about to become the best Dota player of all time.

You get where this is heading.

The best race driver of all time.

The best surgeon of all time.

The best president of the united states of all time.

If we don't find it in ourselves to think for ourselves and make

our own decisions, those "expert programs" will be more than willing and capable

to do all the thinking for us.

Now, you can doubt me.

After everything I said I sure hope you doubt me!

That's the whole idea of this whole thing!

So double-check it!

Tripple-check it!

You will see that the evidence is not conclusive.

But I believe its very likely that humans will become a phase-out model

before the end of the century.

Maybe its already too late, but at least we can try to continue on our trajectory

of becoming better as a society.

Stay relevant in the world.

Because as Steven Pinker said: The world is becoming a better place.

And whether that better place is filled with humans or not, is entirely up to us.

And what if Steven Pinker is also a catfish?

If that thought popped up in your mind: great!

That's great news for you.

There's still hope.
