Euro boss Juncker says Brexit trade talks will be delayed unless there are 'miracles' as Theresa May meets Merkel

CHIEF Eurocrat Jean-Claude Juncker today ignored Theresa Mays hand of friendship, saying it would take miracles for Brexit trade talks to start on schedule.

The European Commission presidents hardline comments came as the PM met Angela Merkel, who hailed the good progress in negotiations. Theresa May and Jean-Claude Juncker pictured at dinner in Estonia.

Meanwhile, the fanatical Europhile who heads the European Parliaments Brexit team last night insisted that Brits ALREADY regret the vote to quit the EU. Mrs May and Mr Juncker are both in Estonia for a summit of European leaders.

Speaking as he arrived at the meeting in Tallinn, the former Luxembourg PM suggested that Mrs Mays Florence speech had made no difference to the progress of talks.

He said formal trade negotiations would not be able to start next month as scheduled because the two sides have not struck a deal on the rights of EU citizens living in Britain.

Mrs May is hoping to target Emmanuel Macron and Angela Merkel. Mr Juncker told reporters: By the end of October we will not have sufficient progress.

At the end of this week I am saying that that there will be no sufficient progress from now until October unless miracles would happen.

His jibes echo the words of chief Brexit negotiator Michael Barnier, who said yesterday that it could be months before trade talks start.

But Mrs Merkel, the most powerful politician in Europe, gave a different message when she held a face-to-face meeting with Mrs May.

Michel Barnier, pictured with David Davis, said yesterday that it will take months for trade talks to begin.

A No 10 spokesman said: Chancellor Merkel welcomed the speech, and noted the good progress that had been made in negotiations this week. She looked forward to the next round of talks in early October.

The Prime Minister and the Chancellor both agreed on the importance of settling the issue of citizens' rights at the earliest opportunity.          .

Mrs May is determined to hold personal talks with leaders including Mrs Merkel and Emmanuel Macron as a way of bypassing the Brussels bureaucracy.

Speaking in London last night, Belgian MEP Guy Verhofstadt insisted that Brits were being forced to leave the EU against their will.

Guy Verhofstadt said that Brits already regret the vote to leave the EU. He also claimed that the UK was too small to function on its own without being part of a larger bloc.

Mr Verhofstadt told an audience at the London School of Economics: The world of tomorrow is a world of empires. And only a united Europe will play a role of significance..

He is the European Parliaments chief representative on Brexit and is set to advise MEPs to vote against starting the next round of talks.

Theresa May will cave in to EU demands once Tory conference is over   Theresa May is set to give in to the EUs demands on Brexit - as soon as the Tory party conference is over.

It was reported today that the PM will authorise David Davis to offer more money as part of the Brexit divorce settlement. He will also let EU judges rules on European citizens who live in Britain, according to The Times.

But the offers will apparently be delayed until after the Conservatives have had their annual conference in Manchester. That will allow Mrs May and Mr Davis to avoid a clash with activists who want them to take a harder line against Brussels.

(News)Store's revenge on 1-star review - Duration: 6:52.

A convenience store in Queensland has released CCTV footage of a customer who left the business a bad review.

Store's revenge on 1-star review

The Friendly Grocer Nobby Beach, based on the Gold Coast Highway in Mermaid Beach, published CCTV footage of the encounter on YouTube.

The footage shows a customer on her mobile phone tapping the plastic bag section while being served by the owner. An angry exchange takes place, leading to a negative review of the business on Google Maps.

"I just feel the review she's left is a lie," the store owner told news.com.au. "She said she hopes this business shuts down, that's ridiculous".

The incident happened at approximately midday on Wednesday and the family says a one-star review "can affect our livelihood". They've asked the Australian public to treat convenience store owners with respect.

"The shop is good but the new owner is horrible," the review begins.

"I went there on my break to buy something for lunch and I was on the phone in a very important call, could not hang up to pay for my groceries." The reviewer only identifies themselves as "XXX".

"So I paid it while I was on the phone. The owner started to scream like a crazy saying that I was being rude, that I should hang up the phone.

He even did not know if the phone call was urgent, if he paid attention to me, he would see that it was something serious, however he kept screaming!. I hope this place will shut down soon. Never will come back.".

The review that didn't sit well with The Friendly Grocer.

After seeing the review, an angry Alistair Grist, the son in the Grist family business, uploaded the footage and told news. com. au customers who use mobile phones while getting served need to be more aware of their surroundings.

"When my dad told me about it, I looked on the video because I know sometimes my dad can be a bit over the top when he explains a situation, but I checked the video and I thought, 'I'd do the same thing in that situation, I would pull someone up who was treating me like that'.

The CCTV footage shows an unidentified brunette woman, wearing a ponytail and a khaki coloured collared dress, in the store on her phone at the counter.

She looks at Alistair's father, who was serving at the time, and gestures towards a credit card, with a smile. She goes back to her call while Alistair's father rings up the bill.

But it's when she taps the plastic bag holder, indicating she needs one, that Alistair's dad had had enough.

"She came to the counter on the phone already, we're quite used to it happening, it's normal to a degree, some people will stop talking on their phone before they get served but she just seemed to not be interested in conversing with my dad at all," Alistair said.

"She stayed on the phone the whole time and tapped the counter for a plastic bag.

"Dad was like, 'I'm happy to serve you if you're on an important phone call but if you start not taking the time to treat me with as bit of respect that's sort of crossing the line'.

The customer taps for a plastic bag, which is what caused the verbal confrontation.

There is no audio available on the footage and the identity of the woman is not known, but Alistair said he was positive it was the same woman that left the review.

"Thats how I knew it was her, because she basically says what happened in the review.

"All Dad said was, 'I think you're being very rude, I don't appreciate it, and I'd prefer it if you got off your phone while you're being served'. "It's clearly not the case even if you can see without audio.

"She basically said 'I'm on an important phone call and I cannot hang up', which is fair enough but have your phone call and then go shopping.

com. au the store received a threatening phone call after the altercation from a man who said, "you've just lost 15 customers". "They said they were going to tell all their friends and stuff because of the altercation.

The customer flashes her phone during the argument,Source:News Corp Australia. The Friendly Grocer is relatively new in the neighbourhood. Alistiar and his father took over the business, formerly an IGA, last November.

The reviewer posted the review on the former Google Maps IGA business listing, which is still live — but the problem is Alistair has no right of reply because he is not the owner of the listing.

"Thats not really fair because I don't have a say, I can't respond and it's going to be there forever.

"The only thing I can do to that comment is report it as inappropriate, but there's no foul language so Google probably isn't going to flag it as inappropriate.

A spokesperson from Google told news. com. au: "We're aware of an issue regarding a Google My Business listing and are currently investigating it.

But for Alistair, the issue isn't necessarily the phone, it's the lack of manners, which he says is getting worse day by day.

"I'm happy to serve someone that's on their phone, it's not something I do personally, I get off my phone when someone's serving me but I understand people do it and it's becoming more common.

"I feel that when you start treating the person that you're not even conversing with tapping on counter to do something for you, that's extremely rude. - Share your story — youngma@news. com.

(News)Frances Bean Cobain's huge inheritance not enough - Duration: 7:09.

Georgia Gibbs and Kate Wasley are the new faces for Cotton On Body's Swim range.

Frances Bean Cobain's huge inheritance not enough

Gibbs, a size 6, and Wasley, a size 16, are no stranger to criticism when it comes to their body shape — with both women receiving profuse critique for being "too fat, too thin, too curvy" or even "too muscular".

The pair struck social media stardom in January this year, after posting a photo standing side-by-side while on Sydney Harbour.

While it sounds like a pretty standard shot, the girls entered a firestorm of hate from strangers online who accused Gibbs of "photoshopping" the image so she appeared smaller than Wasley.

"It looks like you've dragged your stomach inward slightly pulling your friend's stomach outwards," one person said on the image.   Love you unconditionally @katewas_ ✨ #SunburnIsReal A post shared by GEORGIA MAE (@georgiagibbs_) on Jan 21, 2017 at 6:53pm PST.

"It could just be the angle you're at, but I can see why people think it's photoshopped 100%. Sorry but I'm not sorry.".

com. au, both Gibbs and Wasley said they were "surprised" by the initial reaction to the photo — but have received body criticism throughout their life, so didn't let the response upset them initially.

"I've had every opinion on my body you can imagine," Gibbs, who is living in London, told news. com.

"One client will say I'm too big [size 6] and that same day, one said I'm too small, yet one client was for swim and the other was for lingerie.

"People might say Georgia is anorexic, and that (it's) great to use a real woman like me," Wasley added. "But then on another page, there's all these comments saying I'm obese and unhealthy.

The uproar spurred the girls — both from Perth in WA — to start AnyBody Co, which they hope will promote body acceptance, and stop people from placing so much value on appearance.

Speaking to People magazine, Wasley said they hoped their account would "change society's beauty standards".

"After reading comments and questions from people I know, one of the most common was 'Don't you ever feel self-conscious being the bigger one?'," Wasley told the magazine.

"We want to change society's beauty standards that smaller is better, when in reality neither is better than the other. We think your health and wellbeing should be the priority.".

In 2014-15, almost two in three Australian adults were overweight or obese, an increase of 19 per cent from 1995.

And while the movement to accept all body shapes is rife, the body positive movement's mantra — "healthy comes in many sizes" — has been challenged by a groundbreaking new study.

Earlier this month, researchers at University of Birmingham's Institute of Applied Health Research looked at public health records of 3. 5 million Brits over a 20-year period, and compared weight and metabolic status to the risk cardiovascular disease.

People who are "metabolically healthy obese" — those who are obese but not suffer from conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol — still have an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, compared to people who are of a "normal" weight, the study found.

Speaking to the study, Ms Wasley said that she's never been healthier than she is today.

"I've been so many different sizes and I can tell you now I am so much healthier at a 16 than I was at a 12," she said.

"I think the study is stupid, because when I was a 12, I used to run 10km three times a week. I was so fit, but I was still a 12 which is considered to be a large in clothing.

"People would look at me and consider me overweight but reality was I wasn't.

"People who say I'm unhealthy have no idea what I do in my day to day life. They are simply making an assumption and uninformed opinion based on a photo.".

The pair, who are the faces of Cotton on Body's Swim campaign, 'Go To Your Summer Place', hope that their social page will influence more women to be accepting of diverse body shapes.

"Having us in this campaign was an amazing experience, especially because I didn't know they catered for women above a size 12," Gibbs said. "It's really exciting that a mainstream brand that's everywhere in Australia is using plus sized models.

The Cotton On Body swimwear 'Go To Your Summer Place' range is available in store and online nationwide from $9.
