Waching daily Sep 30 2017

Hello everyone!

And welcome to what I hope will be the first of many episodes of the Fake News Review,

here at The Bubble.

Where every week we cover a selection of the most outrageously stupid, fabricated stories

out there.

Also, I'm not sure whether the decoration is this bad on purpose or not, so I'll remain

suspicious until one of the producers clarifies this for me later.

But as I was saying, yes, Donald Trump may have hijacked the concept of fake news, and

may have succeeded at making some people think that CNN is fake news, but here we'll try

to focus on what's called fabricated content, or in other words, stories that are 100 percent

bulls***t.

The reason we do that is because we, as journalists, need you to be aware that a lot of the headlines

that pop up on your Facebook, or Twitter feed, are totally and completely false.

We begin with our first case, which is so unbearably fake, that if you shared this,

I honestly have no idea what the f**k your were thinking.

I can't believe I need to clarify this.

But no, social leader Margarita Barrientos did not win a Nobel Peace Prize recently.

First, because Sweden usually announces the winner in October, and second, because she

f***king didn't.

Look, did you even click on the thing?

Did you even read what the article says?

It's literally two paragraphs that have been lifted from some other article that talks

about Michelle Obama's mention of Barrientos when she visited Argentina last year.

They didn't even bother to write something that made sense because they know you will

not read it.

For all you know, it could've been just a passage from the Mein Kampf and you'd still

have gone to the comments section and say things like "OMG, I'm so proud".

False.

Wrong.

Totally false.

If you shared the story, hit delete.

Moving on to the next, which was making the rounds recently... Has the gay agenda finally

taken over Disney?

The answer is... no.

Well, at least, not yet.

In the last few days, people were celebrating on Twitter and Facebook that Disney was finally

making a movie about a lesbian love story.

"Look, it's coming directly from the company's VP so it's gotta be true!"

Even Noticias fell for it.

The truth is that... no.

Disney is not making a gay princess movie.

And it's funny because everyone fell for it.

Both progressives and conservatives.

Progressives were celebrating that finally the LGBT community would be represented in

a Disney film, while the conservatives were... you know...

Can somebody please think of the children?

Oh yes, they were very upset.

They even launched a petition on Hazteoir.org asking "Is this the Disney you want for your

children?"

Can we go back to that for a second?

Look at that.

I don't know what I like better there, either Captain Hook making out with Jaffar or Cinderella

kissing Madonna for some reason.

Yeah, I'm sure Mexican artist Rodolfo Loaiza, who created these images, is delighted they're

being used for that.

Anyway, if you're hoping for a lesbian princess story, forget about Disney.

Pornhub maybe, not Disney.

So remember, if you shared it, delete!

And the third one today doesn't even deserve some deep analysis.

Let's just focus on the headline.

And in case you were wondering, no, Pope Francis did not say "the kids that are sexually abused

are also responsible for what happens to them because they lie".

Look, I'm not a fan of organized religion but seriously, can you imagine what would

happen at the Vatican if the Pope said something like this?

Kill, kill, kill!

Funny how The Simpsons always seem to save the day.

It's important that you know that this never happened.

And it's a carefully crafted headline that's designed to make those who already dislike

the Pope, dislike him even more.

Because it confirms your pre-existing beliefs that the Pope is siding with paedophiles.

And there's no denying the Catholic Church has a horrendous record when it comes to sexual

abuse.

But that doesn't mean we just make shit up, and put it up there.

If you actually click on the article, and read it, you'll find out that A) it seems

to be a series of random quotes from a former priest, B)

there's not a single link to where the information comes from, and C) and most importantly, it

doesn't include the quote from the headline.

So if you shared this, please delete.

I'll be back next week with more stupidity.

Until then, remember, sharing is not caring.
