- Hi welcome again to UndergrowTv. This time we'll talk about different kinds of pruning. We'll focus on medium

- pruning and then we'll show all kinds of possible prunings for a plant.

- This one will be the first of this line of videos.... Medium pruning. Let's watch it.

- Medium pruning is an agressive kind of prune for cannabis plants.

- It's only a derivative of other pruning methods. Let's get deeper in pruning world... Medium prune this time.

- But we should taste a strain during the video...Super Skunk this time, by Sensi Seeds, feminized of course.

- It's really worthy. Hybrid strain 80% indica predominance, but this sative part adds

- height to this variety so... A good example for this medium pruning. This kind of prune could be used for a few

- different reasons, for example, if you need a lot of clones for other garden, or

- if you have plants without light on their lower parts. Having these light carences,

- we must know it will be really useful to let this part free, even the medium zone. It means

- that if your lamp is at certain distance from the top, and we've got a hot zone that we should let free,

- the top would be burned. And then the tops of the plants should cover this space.

- Then we'll have an empty zone, like 20 cm, from the lamp to the top, covered by full light power.

- So if you only have this margin to interact with light power, it's interesting to use this kind of pruning.

- With this system we'll only work central bud, and satellites, depending on the straing. We use to see this

- under 250W sodium lamps. With more power, medium part can be formed without problem

- We'll make some kind of uniform green mass like we could find in a scroc, but it will be different with clean

- medium parts, but having more plants, growth time will be shorter.

- Accessibility increases a lot and we can see ground really well. Really easy to irrigate with Riego Fácil for

- example, or sink irrigations, where you can see what receives every plant. Of course we'll have usual

- adventages of lower normal pruning, like keeping plages far from the plant,

- on the ground, where they grow their eggs. Of course there are varieties with better response than others.

- There are moments for the plant too... If it gets really tall, you can use this system. Wich are the best

- varieties? Well, the taller strains, maybe satives or hybrids... Really nice for this Super Skunk.

- Not a hard tecnic, but it's not the most recommended for novices, except if they suffer problems. Important,

- clean and nice cut tools for pruning. We must minimize cutting surface.

- We can do this with totally higienized material, so you know, clean it with alcohol etc... I recommend specific

- available at your grow, i went to Dutch Green to get these Pro Cut. Let's see how does it work

- for this job. Curved was really nice but i want straight too. We must minimize cutting surface

- so this time we'll cut a straight angle cut minimizing plan'ts cutting surface. Clones will be cut again,

- but with angle, to increase opened surface to get more root. Don't miss our videos about how to make clones.

- You can use a net too... Pro Net is perfect and squares diameter is adequate to pass our plants.

- It combines with this pruning, and it's really to install this Pro Net, using those supports on the corners.

- a severe low pruning this time... Almost a medium prune. We brought those 2 exemplars,

- and as we can see, with this system, the plant will develop only central bud and satellites, but without

- any medium production because it's totally clean. What can we get? Well, a lot of growers do this to

- get a lot of clones, but low prunes are done for a few reasons like

- keeping plagues away and separate the eggs zone from the plant. All of it is positive

- for the garden, as the normal low prune, that makes better top buds, avoiding to feed lower parts.

- Light uses to come from the upper zone, so the top of the plant will be the most developed zone.

- Normally we can see how growers elliminate low parts and then mediums still develop but this time we can see

- a system in wich the plants don't get all this size, and everything is focused in the top.

- It's really fine if you have not good reflection in your garden.

- All direct light will be directly absorved, and residual light will not be useful.

- It's a severe pruning, not a low prune as we're used to see. This grower made this prune and we

- wanted to show it to you. It will not be really productive, but in this case, with this low power lamp, is a good

- idea to get more top fruits with more resin. Medium parts are not going to be developed with a 250W sodium

- lamp that will not give you results you want. You can clean lower and even medium parts of the plant

- to get better upper buds. With low power, lumens decrease in this zone

- and consume a lot of plants resources. Medium pruning could be a really interesting tool.

- You can do it with sative plants... The best is doing it with indicas, to focus it on the central bud.

- It's really interesting because you save a lot of space, so you can grow a lot more plants in the same space.
