Hello my name is Lucas and this is Claire, my fiancée
Both of us have been tinkering since we were kids.
This led us to create la Fabrique DIY
The first French DIY tutorial website
and a YouTube channel with over a hundred thousand subscribers
and about five million views.
Tinkering is a family affair.
My father Philippe, and my brother Victor
Are both active contributors.
Today, would like to present our favorite project,
Something we've been cooking for two years :
the City Clock.
Okay so you're probably familiar telling time with one of those.
Or more likely a digital one like this one.
But there is another way : the Binary Clock.
It's based on the digital format
except every digit is represented by four vertical dots.
The bottom dot equals 1
the next up equals 2
next equals 4 and top equals 8.
You simply add up the dots to read each number.
Let's play a little game to train your mind.
Hide the right side of the video with your hand
and hit pause at any time
then try to figure out the time on the city clock.
Lift up your hand to check your answer.
The idea came to us while walking along the Seine in Paris
and watching building windows
light up like doll houses.
After 8 prototypes, we proudly present our latest and greatest design.
it's constructed from laser-cut wood,
runs on five volts
and assembled in ten minutes
the City Clock is 100% family owned
100% brain workout
and 100% available on Kickstarter
so you can make it 100% yours.
