Arsenal have made an initial contact for Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira, who has been linked

with Everton, and are expected to put forward a proposal to sign him.

The Sampdoria midfielder has been on Napoli's radar for several months as the club have

identified him as Manchester City target Jorginho's long term successor at the San Paolo.

Napoli have been in talks with his agents for some time and have been confident about

getting a deal over the line, but they are about to face some stiff competition from

the cash-rich Premier League.

Everton have reportedly probed the possibility of signing the Uruguayan this summer and it

has been claimed that another Premier League club are making a play to take him to England.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Arsenal have touched base with the player's

representatives to probe the situation around the Sampdoria midfielder.

New Arsenal head coach Unai Emery is keen to strengthen in midfield and Torreira has

emerged as a possible target for the club.

The Gunners tried to beat Liverpool to Fabinho, but lost out when the Brazilian signed for

the Reds on Monday.

Arsenal will now make a concrete move for Torreira in the coming weeks should the initial

talks produce positive results.

The midfielder has a €25m release clause in his contract with Sampdoria, which makes

him an attainable target for many clubs in Europe.

The esports industry is continuing to grow and has recently taken massive strides in the developing in the UK with a plethora of tournaments coming our way this year - including ESL One Birmingham which will be broadcast on BBC Three

We always hear about how esports appeals to a young demographic and now we have statistics to back those statements up

Kids Insights have surveyed over 5,000 youngsters in the UK and found that esports are taking up more of teenager's viewing time than most other sports

In fact, esports are the second most watched 'sport' on-screen amongst boys aged under 18, sitting behind only football

That means teenagers are watching professional gaming that tennis, rugby or even UFC which has shot up into the fourth most watched

On top of that, one in five boys and one in ten girls believe esports will eventually become bigger and more popular than traditional sports

With hundreds of sports clubs, most recently Aston Villa, investing into esports teams and tournaments, it appears even those within the sports industry are well aware of esports' popularity and potential

If esports can maintain the interest of these teenagers once they grow up, there are no limits to how much the industry can grow

Popular singer, Davido on Monday signed US-based Nigerian rapper, Babalola Falemi, aka Sauce Kid or Sinzuu, to his DMW record label.

This is coming few weeks after Saucekid was released from jail in America.

Davido and DMW made the announcement on their Instagram pages, sharing a photo of the artiste signing his contract.

The caption read: Announcing my new artiste, New DMW signee, Sinzuu.

DAILY POST recalls that the Assurance crooner had last week signed new artist, Idowest to the record label, DMW.
