Liverpool Transfer News: Coutinho £148m deal claim, £66.6m Lemar offer, Klopp on Origi
Liverpool are willing to sell Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, according to Sport. The Catalonia-based publication claim Anfield chiefs finally relented to the pressure following a series of meetings and conference calls.
Liverpool will green light the transfer once they sign a replacement. Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches has been identified by Kop bosses.
Sport report that Coutinho could end up costing Barcelona £148m (€160m). Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez has claimed talks are ongoing and said yesterday: "Coutinho? We are continuing the negotiations.".
Liverpool have firmed up their interest in Monaco winger Thomas Lemar. According to L'Equipe, the Reds have slapped an initial £66.6m (€72m) bid plus £7.4m (€8m) in potential add-ons on the table.
Anfield chiefs are expected to follow up their bid by holding talks with Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev this morning. Lemar is due at Clairefontaine this afternoon to link up with the France squad. Divock Origi could leave Liverpool on loan.
Jurgen Klopp has indicated Divock Origi could leave on loan before the transfer window slams shut. Origi finds himself down the pecking order with Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge ahead of him.
"We will see," Klopp said. "Thats not something to talk about here.
"If players come in, I think it makes sense to think about what well do on the other side. Im not sure – they [the players] are obviously involved in this.
Youll have to wait." Liverpool are willing to sell Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona, according to Sport. The Catalonia-based publication claim Anfield chiefs finally relented to the pressure following a series of meetings and conference calls.
